We ordered to go - udon, egg rolls, low mein. The service was friendly and food prepared promptly. Servings were large and reasonable in price. Quality of the food was below average. Nothing special egg rolls. The shrimp low mein dish had about 4 small shrimp and slight evidence of vegetable. The house special udon was better with a lot more additional ingredients. The hunan beef was excellent - crab Rangoon's were good- shrimp egg rolls were great and a ton of shrimp fried rice. Kung pow should be spicy with a light hint of sweetness. This is not flavorful or tasty. Their Sweet n sound is all red sugar sweet with no tang of sour at all. Fresh, plenty of food... Just lacks flavor so its disapointing. read more

Worse Chinese food ever, I threw it away. The food tasted old and reheated. The pepper steak beef was chewy, The Chicken dishes were chewy.

It's mostly good. We get to go food from here a few times a month and it's usually pretty decent. Every now and then they will put way too much peanut oil in the fried rice or other dishes though. The other night the fried rice had hard pieces of carrot in it but it was full of shrimp so I can't complain. The egg rolls are pretty yummy too. We will continue to give them our business because it's convenient and decent food too. read more

Probably some of the best Chinese takeout I have had. Our favorites are the Black Pepper Chicken, Tangy Spicy Chicken, Egg Foo Young, pork lo mein, egg drop wonton soup, and crab rangoon. The black pepper chicken is hands-down one of the best things on the menu. For other dishes like the tangy spicy chicken, you can customize how much spice you want because the baseline is mild. They also let you change your rice side to fried rice free of charge. Everything is fresh and made-to-order. I have never been met with anything but kindness from them. First time eating here. I wouldn't have known about Mr. Chen if hubby hadn't stopped here before and raves about the dumplings and lunch buffet. I stopped in after taking hubby back to work today looking to enjoy the buffet. My mouth watered as I thought about the dumplings and all the fixings on the buffet and the sweet donuts for desert. Mr. Chen's kitchen is located by the hernando Kroger gas station. Actually it's right behind it. I got there walked in and wouldn't you know it , I just missed the buffet time! But I was still able to order some delicious food. I decided to do something different and try the vegetable lo mein and fried pork dumplings. I must say when my food cane it was fresh, steaming hot and a lot of it. The dumplings did not disappoint. They were good but I think I'll stick with steamed. I just like them better that way. I was so full of course I couldn't finish everything so guess what hubby is getting for dinner..... Next time you're in Hernando and looking for something different than the usual fare, give Mr. Chen's a try. It's not PF Chang's (my favorite) And the buffet area is not as big as the other Chinese ones but for its location it's good. North Mississippi definitely needs a better diversity of restaurants and this is a good one.
