In general I have been gifted with great service at Taco Bell's but this simply was not one of those times. I went in and the cashier looked at my disdainfully as I was looking at the menu and not just ordering. He didn't welcome or greet me which at least I get when I walk into McDonalds or Burger King's no matter what time of night (this was only at 8:00) I rattled off a usual order that included Bean and Cheese Burritos with Green Sauce, Extra Green Sauce. I have never had an incident over even the intercom system where a Taco Bell attendant doesn't understand what I am saying. He had to repeat to me "So they come with red sauce," I again explained I wanted green sauce instead of red, and extra green sauce, "So you don't want any red sauce?" Seriously, I do not think I could be more specific. I then ordered a few tacos and an order of cinnamon twists and when I reached into my billfold to hand him a $50 (the order was around $15, I wasn't just ordering a burrito), he looked at me blankly and simply pointed at a sign bolted on the wall behind him that says they do not accept $50 or $100 bills. I then asked him since he was being silent why I could use a $50 at other locations like Marina and he paused, still saying nothing and say he didn't know and couldn't help me. I could understand if the tills are low and I was buying one burrito maybe they wouldn't have change but to completely refuse any possible solutions ( I would have even purchase more if change was an issue), especially when other Taco Bell's do accept $50 was ludicrous. Just out of curiosity I went across the street to Starbucks and asked if I purchased a $3 coffee and all I had were $50 bills would they refuse service and they said no. Great win for Starbucks in Monterey, horrible service at this Taco Bell. read more

I know I'm writing about Taco Bell, so don't think the single star has much to do with the quality of the food - you get what you pay for here. This specific location was just really uncomfortable to eat in. Unfortunately, this location affords the cheapest food on the block and there's a population of people in this town that struggle to get by. I'm not going to be able to take my family back here though; between getting cut in line, the odd nature of patrons acting aggressive, and the general leering going on by people at my wife and kid... one who turned out to work there and came in to interview a job applicant, I felt like I made a mistake walking in here. read more

I would just like to say after reading all these reviews that for the most part are dated from 2016 and further back that this taco bell location has since hired an entirely new staff and management myself included and i am a manager there. We have made major improvements in our customer service and our food safety record there is the highest its been in years! As we do deal with the unfortunate population of the homeless people on a regular basis we do try to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our patrons. So if you have had a bad experience at this location in the past, give us another chance to change your opinion about us. A long, long time ago, in a municipality far, far away, I used to genuinely like Taco Bell. An inexpensive guilty pleasure. But my last experience here was lacking. The place was nearly empty--in a sort-of-creepy kind of way. It was a Thursday night. Me, a homeless guy, and one or two other customers. The seven layer burritos ($3.50 a pop, once you pay tax) were filling, but not really satisfying. Cold sour cream, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and guac combined with lukewarm rice & beans to make a pretty cold burrito. The lettuce & tomatoes seemed fresh, the sour cream was pretty sour creamy. Other than that, and the fact that there no line/wait, it's hard to get excited abut going back. read more

This particular Taco Bell just doesn't do it for me. The employees don't speak enough English to understand special orders (and by special orders I mean requests such as "no tomatoes"). But Taco Bell is Taco Bell, and sometimes you just gotta have that crunch wrap/taco/burrito/gordita you're craving. read more

Could this location get any more petty. They closed for "15 minutes." We called after more than fifteen and the young lady on the phone rudely informed us it hadn't been 15 minutes although we waited patiently for ALL 15. To make matters worse the decided it was a great idea to wave and then sit down in a circle to prove time was of the essence. Taco Bell if you expect to obtain any integrity you ever had as a company, hire decent employees not complete imbeciles who have no regard for their customers time or money. Regardless of what may have happened earlier in the night you should teach you employees to be professional and courteous not petty and disrespectful, because after all your customers are the only reason they have a job. read more

The food is well, Taco Bell, so it's normal. But the service is AWFUL. The young woman ringing me up didn't make eye contact or talk to me at all. I had to come up and greet her and tell her my order then awkwardly stand there until she gave me my receipt. She handed it to me and mumbled my order number and I said "Thank you, have a good day" and she just turned around. I've been waiting for my order for about 10 minutes now and the entire time she's been standing at the register trash talking customers and other employees with the people behind her. Most of the time her arms are crossed, when they're not she's tracing her fingernails on receipt paper. read more

I can never seem to go to this Taco Bell without experiencing some form of mishap. It's bad enough they can hardly ever seem to get my order right, but today was definitely the last straw for me. I ordered two potato soft tacos and sat down and waited for them to call my order number. It wasn't busy at all and a few guys walked in shortly after. I was confused when they ended up getting their food before me, but I thought nothing of it continued to wait. Ten more minutes passed and more people who showed up after me continued to get their orders first. Eventually my friend met up with me and he ordered four potato soft tacos. 20+ minutes later, he had his tacos and I still didn't have mine! Annoyed, we asked the cashier what happened and he acted like he didn't know what was going on. Finally, I got my tacos which were haphazardly thrown together without tomatoes and cheese. They either forgot to make my order or they let someone else take it. Either way, I was pissed because I ended up being late for my class that evening all because of this stupid incident. I definitely won't be coming back to this Taco Bell anytime soon. read more

Normally, I wouldn't review Taco Bell but I just needed to review my experience yesterday. I came in here and ordered off the Fresca menu and cinnamon twists too. The woman that called out the number was super hard to understand (thick spanish accent) and another guy grabbed my food. Well I wasn't about to chase after him and say "hey you took my food" Besides it all happened so fast. I kindly told the assistant manager, I wish I got her name that I think the man took my food. She sighed and started talking in spanish to the employee making the tacos. The taco lady then gave me a look and threw her hands up. (whatever that was suppose to mean) The assistant manager told me "You need to listen" pointing to her ear. How freaken rude is that? You don't tell a paying customer that. I got pissed and said "I couldn't understand her" She rolled her eyes. I have to admit my tacos tasted pretty good but the service sucked a*s so they're only getting one star. read more
