We stopped in to eat lunch while visiting family in the area. The restaurant is very bright and welcoming. They had really cool plants and cute decor. The staff were friendly and helpful. Just not good. If you're going to charge top dollar then the food should be top dollar. It's Bullard so people are not willing to drive into Tyler or Jacksonville for better then have at it but this is very average at best. read more

I live in the area and have eaten here many times. I enjoy the quesadillas and especially the chips and salsa. However, the last time I was here, the cashier, completely unprovoked, gave my partner (a man) grief because I (a woman) was paying the bill. Not really sure what happened to the food quality here. Seems to have gone downhill. The guacamole is disgusting (watered down or from a powder). Chips and salsa are safe here. This place is close and that's the only reason we ever come. Food is extremely mediocre at best, service is on par with the food. Definitely get the better salsas, the one they automatically bring tastes like tomato sauce out of a can. Beer is cold and price seems a little high but not outrageous. Have been going here for 10 years. You have to know Mexican food to appreciate this down to earth place. First, order the special sauces. The default sauce with your chips is not what you should have. The REAL special sauce is the best this side of the river. Oder it with quac. This is my favorite place to eat. I love Tex-Mex and this place is awesome. My family and I go eat here 1-2 times a week. I order the same thing every time, combo #3, their food never gets old. I branch out when it's cold and get the chicken tortilla soup, it a good portion and comes with rice, pico, and slice avacado. Their tacos...so good you'll want to slap your mama. J/K, don't slap your mama but heather taco are so flipping good. Service is always great too. They have a few new guys as of today so they can be a little slower but still very friendly. read more

While the service was amazing. Vinny was awesome. The food was just ok, nothing special. The guacamole was very plain, The chips were good, but the regular salsa was like tomatoe soup. 10/10! We were so pleasantly surprised by this place. First off the restaurant is immaculate which is unusual for these older neighborhood restaurants. Spotless! The employees are very friendly and helpful. The food is at the upper end of what you would expect, portions very generous. We found the salsa to be tasty however the guacamole was a little weird, couldn't quite put our finger on the ingredient that was in there making it different. Gave them a shot tonight.. I wasn't expecting much and it still did not meet my expectations. It was not even mediocre... the meat in my tacos was cold, my sons quesadilla was dripping grease.. fries were hot so that was ok. Beer was cold and that was the best part. My sons kids quesadilla was $6.49 for a tiny greasy cheese quesadilla with French fries and they charge full price of $2.49 for a kids sprite so his kids meal cost me $9 dollars.... $9 DOLLARS for something that cost them a whole .75 at most to make. Queso was pretty rough... salsa was spicy tomato sauce... our server was friendly though... that's the reason for the 2nd star... overall.. very disappointing. Big thumbs down from me. read more

After reading all the negative reviews, we thought, "wow... let's just get chips and salsa. How could they mess that up?" So we just got chips, cheese queso, and special salsa to go. Too small of a bag of chips. They said the queso and salsa would be in "pint" containers. They were half that size. Too expensive ($11.50) and they could not stop arguing with my wife. Sorry. Great prices. Great food. Good portions and friendly staff. I've been eating here for years, ever since they first opened downtown Bullard in their first building. Hot sauce isn't overly hot, and chips are good. If you do like a hotter sauce just ask the wait staff for their special sauce. Our first time to eat at this restaurant! The food is average, but I was terribly disappointed that they would charge almost $5 for a soft drink. The food was not good at all. The "salsa" was more like tomato paste and jalapeño spices mixed together. I got a sweet tea and there still was a piece of a sweet n low packet in it. Then I got beef nachos and there was a tooth pick in it. This place is overpriced for what you get. I looked online before to see how much it would be, but then the price was completely different when I got my ticket. I recommend eating someone where else. read more
