The lady taking my order misheard what I said and then was very rude in telling me she will not and cannot give me a refund or the right thing that I ordered back, extremely unprofessional she was some sort of manager and couldn't admit she was wrong so I just paid for food I couldn't eat, and not just the wrong item she had ordered a meal sort of thing with multiple items so it was a lot more expensive than what I originally wanted to order in the first place. I like Taco John's a lot. At least, for fast-food, anyway. Their food is unique (taco ingredients on tater tots? Yes, please!). However, this particular location really turned me off. The dining room was not clean and there was peeling wallpaper with lots and lots of black mold growing - RIGHT next to a table. Disgusting. read more

Taco John's! The mythic, legendary fast food joint! Okay, this review is really based on a location in Clarksville, TN that looks like it is closed now. I haven't been there in years, but it is very high on my list of fond memories of places that I would love to re-visit when I get the chance. Okay, as far as the food goes - great tacos and burritos - fast food style, ya' know? Eat as much as you possibly can drenched in their hottest hot sauce they have. Drive-in or dine-in. GREAT!!! I remember there was a Galaga table top video game in their foyer. I loved that classic combo of tacos and 1980's video games. Of course, any mention of TJ's must include the obligatory head nod to the greatest thing to ever happen to a potato: The Potato Oles! ha! It is a funny name for what most other places call tator-tots. Check in to Burger King breakfast to find out what you are missing. Took them 15 minutes to make a taco. Ridiculous. Had to go up front and remind them. Wasn't even that busy either.

With many fast food chains, you'd expect the same quality items that you would get at other Taco Johns locations. Unfortunately for the taco Johns in Princeton, this is not the case. While the service is standard for a fast food joint, (though not nearly the service I get at the Jackson Street location in Paducah, KY) There is a problem with cleanliness at the Princeton location. Every few hours, each Taco Johns has to clean it's press down grills. The ventilation system in Princeton's location does not allow for proper ventilation of the steam and smoke coming off the grills when cleaning, and it therefore gets into the customer area. It's quite the worst experience you can have while you're eating, or ordering food there. I've even seen a gentleman complain about not being able to taste his food because there was too much smoke from the grill at that time in the air. Thus, after the smoke settles, you're stuck sitting in the grease-smoke filled area which is now in your food, on your clothes, and on the tabletops which you eat on. If the Princeton Taco Johns would get a better venting system, I just might go back. But for now, I'll only eat at out of town locations. read more

Stopped by for lunch today after a wal mart trip. Went through the drive through. Order was taken quickly and the employee at the window was nice and courteous. Seemed to have a good attitude. Thats about the only + i can say. My potatoe oles, ( basically hardees lil round hash browns) were luke warm, soggy with grease, and so salty one could hardly eat them. TIP of the day, salt goes a long way ! Do not use it in excess!! Hardshell tacos were ok, kind of warm and mushy , salty as well. Its pretty bad when taco bell has better food than you do ..... Street tacos, beef , were cold, but i liked them better than the regular crunchy beef tacos. Would be great if were hot n fresh. I understand when a place is swamped if things get jumbled up, but when your not very busy , no excused for cold , over salted, greasy , soggy food. read more

Stopped here just passing through. It was clean inside with seven bathrooms and tasty food (for fast food Mexican). I had the cheese quesadilla and my friend, who is gluten intolerant, had the burrito bowl. They were helpful in ensuring us the bowl was gluten free and even double checked on the internet. read more

I've eaten at this taco johns for years. Today on my trip through the drive thru I ordered a combo and a taco salad. I trusted them so I didn't check my order until I got home. I was missing my potato oles. Yes, I paid for them. I called and was asked if I wanted to come back for them. Guy was dismissive and never once apologized for the mistake. I do NOT appreciate his attitude or paying for food I did not get. NEVER AGAIN. I have eaten there for 20 years and they've lost a customer for life. I do not recommend ever eating there. read more

Nothing beats Taco John's for a quick Mexican style meal. Their super nachos are terrific and they will make them to order, so you can add extra ingredients or eliminate ingredients at your delight. I'm a local so I've gone through their drive-thru and eaten inside the restaurant on numerous occasions. I've never been disappointed. The only issue I have is their drive-thru is in a place where it stops traffic on a main thoroughfare through that side of town. However, I don't know how else they could have put one in, so I can't complain too much since I do like using it! read more

I remember back when Taco John's was a good compromise between fast food, service, and price. Sadly, this isn't the case anymore. This PARTICULAR Taco John's has the World's Most Annoying Drive-Thru. After about six or seven cars, it backs other waiting vehicles out on the main street making it hard to order. If you are lucky enough not to stop the whole town's traffic or becoming involved in a head on collision and dying--arriving at the speaker is another magical moment fraught with uttering the right incantations and hoping the car lengths work out so that people can hear your order because you beat mathematical improbability and arrived near the damn thing. The price has steadily risen. Many menu items have gone up by a factor of no less than 50 cents. That doesn't sound like much, but it adds up. I can buy a whole bag of tacos for maybe five bucks. Toss in five pounds of burger meat for about 8 bucks or so, and I can make enough tacos to feed a small mexican village. There is the expectation for Mexican Food to be cheaper because Mexicans eat in in part BECAUSE it is cheap! Obviously, this doesn't apply to some fancy mexican sit-down place, but for fast food? Seven dollars and upwards? Really? How about five bucks like it used to be? So, between the life or death drive-thru and price I can't say Taco Johns is a place I visit much anymore. Once in a great while when I tire of life I try my luck, but beyond that, I'll pass. read more
