Very subpar Mexican. If your looking for authentic Mexican cuisine - this isn't it. If you are looking for an Americanized + Accepted version of Mexican dish offerings, ding ding ding. Unfortunately, I would still prefer stopping at Chipotle over Taco Maya. Without a doubt, this place has the best burritos I've ever had the pleasure of eating. I've been coming here for six years now and I've never had a bad meal - the staff is friendly and very good at what they do. The restaurant is clean and has a good ambiance. I love this place, and I hope it stays open for the rest of time. If this location closes, I will be beside myself, and I will never eat another burrito again in their honor. Food: I'm going to be honest, the food was the worst part. My dinner tasted like warm mush. It was the most disappointed I've been with a meal in a long time. The portion was fair, but I didn't really enjoy eating it. I got a burrito, which is usually one of the safest items to order from any Mexican restaurant. Yet the Mexican rice was flavorless, the beans were flavorless, the veggies tasted like nothing, the cheese which looked great had no taste, etc. All the textures were right, but that's all they were: textures with no taste. Service: Everyone working the food stations served with a smile. The team seemed friendly with both guests and each other. The person at the cash register had a good energy and happy vibe. Ambiance: There was plenty of seating and it all seemed clean. Would I go again? No. There are plenty of other clean Mexican places with nice employees and better food. read more

I'm not sure why there were so many positive reviews. The service is very quick, but it was only counter service. I found the quesadilla Carne Asada to be mediocre as the meat had no real flavor and it was a bit greasy. My sister's taquitos were also "just OK". I live in Lancaster and I haven't found a great Mexican place here so I generally try them when I get farther away from home. Taco Maya is one of my go-to fast restaurants in the Exton area. I haven't ever had anything here I didn't like, though I'd have to say the taco salad and quesadillas are my favorite, particularly with the Mayan pork. There's plenty of space to sit and eat there, though 90% of the time I take and go. The staff moves people through quickly so there typically isn't a line, though I have seen a few new faces lately and when one happens to do my orders I generally have to walk them through it step by step. I'm guessing they don't give new hires a lot of training. Anyway, the end result is what matters with take out and even the newbs make great food. read more

Hard shells, soft shells, great selection of proteins and sauces, and their grilled jalapenos are great on everything, Some of the guys make much better tacos than others (only small complaint), so try to be very specific when ordering down the line. We recently ordered Taco Maya for a work lunch. The food was decent - the chips were amazing; the chicken quesadilla was OK. I found the chicken to be a bit tough and chewy compared to other local taco places (it was not fall apart delicate), but the flavors were great. The rest of my coworkers very much enjoyed their meals. I would be interested in trying other dishes here. read more

Worst $17 for 2 burritos I ever spent! Worst burrito I've ever had. The produce did not taste fresh at all, the meat was not seasoned, and everything tasted like it came out of a can. The Spanish rice I went with tasted old and dry. I'll never be coming back and ended up throwing it in the trash after dissecting it to inspect its contents of anything that didn't look legit. After passing up places closer to Philly (due to prices and lines out the doors), none in our party could agree on anywhere to stop, so we all "settled" for Mexican food. Wow, this was not settling. Much like other build-your-own burrito places, Taco Maya gives you a variety of meats, veggies, etc. However, there are a few choices not on those other famous places, which make this stand out. They offer a Spanish rice (or white) as a base for the burrito or bowl and then you add the beans, meat, veggies, sauces, etc. Whew, it turns into a meal with leftovers quickly. Sometimes, these types of meals don't end with a good blend of flavors, but Taco Maya offers strong, robust flavors across the assortment of food choices. There is an added benefit for those who don't like burritos or build your own bowls. Taco Maya offers tacos, quesadillas, tamales, and more. Our party tried the fish tacos and a tamale with our meal and they were deemed excellent. The fish came with a spicy kick (as the person who ordered wanted) and the tamale was so moist with a crisp but creamy taste to the corn and juicy pork inside. Everything held up well for the two+ hour drive back to where were staying, so leftovers were still good and made for an excellent late night snack as the flavors had even more time to blend. read more

We got them with jalepenos, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, and the spicy salsa. The fish taco was the worst- tasted a bit dirty and didn't have much inside compared to the other tacos. The chipotle chicken and al pastor were alright, nothing special but not bad. The two beef tacos were really what shone- they were juicy, flavorful, dripping with juices and had a good pull-apart texture- I would return for these. A great spot in Exton. The restaurant space is pretty big and there are some tables for outdoor dining. It's layout and ordering format is very much like a Moe's or Qdoba. The menu is pretty big, lots of vegetarian options too. Given it's name, I decided to try a few of the tacos. I really liked the barbacoa, the chicken al pastor was good too. Stopped here last night for a quick dinner. 6 PM on a Tuesday evening, and the place was not very busy but quickly became so shortly after we ordered our food. Plenty of space inside this new location, with some booths some tables and even a small ledge area for solo diners. I recommend looking at the menu before you show up, because there is a lot to take in with all the sides, all the extras (many for an additional cost) and the prices can add up quickly. $26 for two burrito bowls and two tacos not inexpensive, but very tasty with nice items like grilled jalapeños and sautéed onions. Hot sauce bar is always a nice touch and that habanero sauce packs some creeper heat. The guys running the line are a bit dry in personality so be sure they hear your order correctly and you'll leave satisfied. read more

It'd been years since I visited, so here I ordered takeout Monday night. Business was hopping when I arrived to pick up my two orders! I had an amazing burrito years ago, but this time I ordered a quesadilla and choriqueso (hoooooboy). To be honest the quesadilla wasn't special, but we cleaned out the whole choriqueso container with tortilla chips to spare. My friend enjoyed her burrito but made no special comment. read more
