This is one of my favorite spots for Mediterranean food. The food is amazing, service is wonderful, and I appreciate the homey but fast casual approach of the dining room. I discovered this place from Yelp and am so glad that I did. I really like their shawarma platters. All of the meats (chicken, beef, lamb) are good. I am usually not a fan of lamb because of the games taste but it is not noticeable here. I like the hummus as a side and it comes with a delicious piece of bread, that smells amazing if you pop it in the oven for a few minutes. They also have an option to sub the rice for veggies in the platters. I enjoy dining in because the service and ambiance are nice. It is also convenient for take out. My only gripe is that they use styrofoam takeout containers so the hot food does burn into the containers, which releases toxic chemicals. Definitely worth a stop for food! Casual, clean restaurant. You order at the counter and they give you a beeper for when your order is ready. Lamb shawarma wrap was delicious. I didn't hold out hope for battered fries, but they were surprisingly good for frozen fries. I didn't give them a 5 because of the hummus appetizer. The hummus was unnaturally smooth. It tasted fine, but whipped texture was a little disconcerting. Pita bread is kept is little plastic bags that they might microwave before serving. We have been getting amazing food from this restaurant for years. They have consistently exceeded our expectations. The employees are friendly and food is always prepared on time and exactly as ordered. The restaurant is clean and conveniently located. They do cater to different dietary requirements. Sometimes I'll go there more than once a week to enjoy the Fatteh. The hummus is so delicious and smooth that I wouldn't even try to compare it to the premade stuff you get at the grocery store. Had a wonderfully fresh, delicious and healthy lunch today at Damas Mediterranean Grill. It was my first time visiting and I truly enjoyed every bit of my lunch. I ordered a Lamb Gyro w. a Greek Salad. The Gyro was everything I was looking for it to be, but honestly the show stopper was the Greek Salad. I KNOW, the salad! Cold, crunchy, well proportioned between veggies, feta, dressing, olives. Just magnificent. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Chicken Shawarma platter as well. The chicken had a deliciously charred flavor but was still juicy and tender. My husband is a hummus snob, so he ordered it as his side to give it a try and it got the 'thumbs up'. Highly recommend this Syrian restaurant serving halal dishes. Service was fast and good. Restaurant was excellently clean and smelled clean. There's plenty of free parking. There's free coffee (decaf and regular k pods and Lipton tea bags. There's a lot of great Middle Eastern choices, and the place is popular - lots of customers and food pickup. Watch out- this place is deliciously addicting!! Hidden in a strip mall, this is authentic, delicious, huge portions of wraps and gyros and more. You could grab and go but sticking around to enjoy the shop and leisurely plow through a huge plate of chicken and fries is a very fun time. This place is a hidden gem in the most non descriptive shopping center in Chester County. Authentic Mediterranean (or is it middle eastern?) food in a fast casual setting. I had the Mixed Schwarma platter with chicken and lamb with rice and baba ghanoush. Delish! Both meats melt in your mouth. I even ate the rice: I NEVER eat the rice! My companion had the Lamb Gyro platter with rice and grilled vegetables, and despite her reluctance, she throughly enjoyed everything on her plate. Def the WORST Mediterranean food I've had. So got the chicken kabobs and spent $22.. ZERO taste. I tried to eat some rice and chicken but it LITERALLY had zero flavor.. no salt. The rice isn't TOO bad but I did get the garlic sauce on the side which actually is pretty good which made the portion that I had just taste like garlic but it was better than what it tasted like before which is nothing. I asked the girl at the front desk if she had sumac and she said no.. I literally said it's right behind you then she gave it to me. The salad is disgusting, don't waste your time. Went here a couple days ago and ordered the Chicken Schawarma platter and the Chicken Kebab platter. Both were very flavourful. Don't know what they add to the rice but I like it. It's different than the Biryani rice you get at an Indian restaurant in terms of subtle taste but similar in texture and presentation. I was playing a tennis match in Exton and yelped to see what good lunch places were nearby. Damas came up with 4.5 stars and I believe it easily deserves 5 stars. The place is cute, with some booth seating and some open tables. The young woman behind the counter where you order was super helpful and very sweet. My friend and I both ordered the veggie combo platter which came with: 3 falafel - 5*/5 - perfectly crisp, tasty, light not greasy, I'd come back just for the falafel! Baba ganoush - 5/5 - this baba ganoush had chunks of eggplant in it and was deliciously smokey Hummus - 5/5 - very good hummus to accompany the falafel and the pita bread 4 dolmades - 5/5 - I love dolmades and these two-bite size pieces were exactly how I like them Salad - 4/5 - basic mediterranean salad with dressing on the side Baklava - 5/5 - they recommended the walnut over the pistachio and it was excellent All this for $11.99! And, they offer free hot tea and hot coffee and there's a water station so basically your beverages are free. This isn't fancy - paper plates and they have plastic utensils and napkins that you get yourself. I have no problem with this as the food is outstanding. Stopped into Damas on a whim after taking my son to an appt at Visionworks nearby. My son had the chicken kabob, my husband had the mixed lamb and steak kabob, I had the chicken wrap and we shared an order of labneh and tabouleh. My husband had hummus on the side with his and my son had baba ghanoush. We enjoyed everything!!! Zero complaints. Every bite was amazing. I can't wait to go back and try more. This place has decent food but it's not amazing. Having lived in Dubai, I have high standards when it comes to Arabic type food. I do love that this place serves halal meat. But it definitely is more of a takeaway place than dine in. I didn't know this and we dined in. The food was served on paper plates and they have very tiny Dixie cups for you to have water. The fatteh hummus was the strangest version of fatteh that I've ever had. I've never once in Dubai seen rice in fatteh. It was bland and missing the real yogurt. The bread they serve along side was terrible and certainly not real Arabic bread. I couldn't even eat it. Tahini was okay and falafel was fine. Definitely can use some improvements. read more

Stopped in at Damas to satisfy my craving for a Gyro sandwich. As usual, it was very tasty. This would be a 5-star for me...but... I've always noticed this in previous visits, but for some reason it hit me this time. When paying by card at the counter, they turn a screen around for you to add a tip to the bill. If you are dining IN, they prepare the food and put it on a tray, then call you up to get it...much like a fast food place like McDonalds. I've noticed this trend, and I've always given a couple bucks. This time I didn't, and it seemed like the food took twice as long. This isn't a deal killer for Damas. I like the food, but it is awkward to ask for a tip when you are serving yourself, then think that it affects your dining experience because you did not tip at the counter. Removing that awkwardness for ME, and it is a definite 5-Star for Damas. Personal preference - others might not care about that. read more
