My husband is from California and is very demanding when it comes to authentic Mexican food!! We adore this place and eat there at least once a week! Everything on the menu rocks and their portion size is gigantic! Also have tamales on the weekend first come first serve. They have added delicious ice cream and street corn treats as well and their aqua fresca is to die for. read more

We ordered some takeout a few days ago and definitely enjoyed our meal. There were four enchiladas that came with our takeout along with rice and a choice of refried or black beans. The grilled chicken was tender and not at all stringy. We also ordered the nachos which came with a choice of meat toppings. We chose beef which was also tender and not grisly. The guacamole was one of the best takeout versions I have had in a long time being both creamy and a little chunky. We were able to order online and pick up. Ambiance is a bit bare bones. Really great spot. In a world that loves fast food bowls, this is a more traditional Mexican spot than Qdoba or Chipotle. That being said I think they did try to make it more American to get that crowd. The restaurant is small but clean, menu is bright and easy to place orders. Everyone is friendly. What is not to love about tacos? Habanero Taco Express gets the Taco thing right as well as a few other things I'm going to recommend in this review. Please order the Choriz Fries! I promise, it will change your life being that it's the best of both worlds, authentic nacho toppings on French fries with delicious Chorizo sausage! The steak tostadas were also very good with fresh toppings, you can't really mess those up & its a kid friendly item. I've had better Birria tacos in sit down hole in the wall Mexican restaurants but for carryout Birria, these tacos really hit. They were very good given it was a takeout order, the consommé was well flavored & the tacos were generously filled. If you like tacos, I recommend the Birria under the "Special Tacos" section of the menu. And if you're like me & grew up eating organ meat then you will appreciate this hidden gem on the menu which is only available on weekends. It's the traditional Mexican soup, Menudo! The broth is rich & flavorful & the tripe is perfect & succulent! It may have been beef tripe but it tasted like pork tripe to me. Regardless of the animal it came from, it was amazing & for $15 you can get some traditional soup (enough for two people) it sooths the soul, and it comes with a side of warm soft corn taco shells for dipping & fresh lime wedges, chopped Cilantro & onions to garnish. The only negative thing I can say is, handle your soup with care, it'll be piping hot & the takeout container soup lid may fall apart on you. read more

By far the most impressive presentation for take out food. Excellent quality authentic Mexican food. I had four corn tortilla enchiladas stuffed with shredded chicken and topped with a wonder earthy spicy mole. On top was crumbled Cotija cheese and shredded lettuce and I believe drizzled sour cream. A nice little garnish of red onion rings and sliced tomatoes. They also come with a green sauce which in my opinion was less spicy than the mole, but equally as tasty. The store is clean and well lit. The staff is very nice and the menu extensive. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Food is authentic and amazing! Just moved to Downingtown last week and seen this spot near my home. The restaurant was super clean, the menu was difficult to choose from because everything sounded good. Tried the torta milanesa, husband got the tacos (carnitas, chicken, asada-1each) and two sope asadas. Everything was so good. We're from California and moved out here slightly over a year ago, this place is the first spot we've been to that is actually good and authentic. Reminds me of home.
