Wanted to like the place and had high expectations based on other reviews, but this is what happened. Placed order online for pickup and tracked on my phone. Given estimated arrival time window. Arrived at store. Clicked button indicating I was there. Tracker indicated order was bring prepared. Eventually, tracker status changed indicating order was ready and 5 minutes earlier than the estimated time. Went to open register. Register guy in charge, kind of Mexican looking, middle aged, average size, kept clicking away at register. No welcome. Lot of young workers milling around, in and out of the back kitchen where subs were being prepared. Girl retrieving another order came back and handed off an order to a customer and then helped me. Got my pizza pie then went to warmer where finished subs were kept. Couldn't find mine, went to back kitchen, returned and said order was not ready yet. So I waited. And waited. And waited. After 15-20 minutes waiting, asked what was going on to a young guy also working there. Told him 15 minutes had already passed since tracker indicated my order was ready. He said oh that meant it was just marked that way by someone on the screen. Didn't mean order was ready. Of course, in the meantime, waiting on my order, i had seen many customers come and go with their filled orders, even ones with order numbers after me. Customers who came to the register were spoken to right away and got their orders promptly and left. Even those with sandwich orders. Within a minute or so after speaking up, girl retrieved my sub and pizza and I could finally go. Utter failure. No apologies throughout, just excuses. And never felt welcome or attended to. Pizza was also not very good, other than the breading and crust. Enough cheese but not much sauce, which by itself is a personal preference. But the flavor was kind of off, like a sour and old white wine. Not a good tasting pizza. Someone commented that it tasted like the Costco pizza (but with superior breading). Cheesesteak was ok. It was a little on the smaller side, though, compared to local standards. And bread was seedy without an option for seedless. And not the cheapest either. Total $40-50 for large pie and cheesesteak sub. Not sure what happened but I felt like they didnt want my (type of) business. Should I have used an assumed name to not give away my identity ? Reference the review of Phoenix C., who commented that her pizza tasted 'off.' You can infer what you want. A few other reviewers have also commented on 'off' flavors. Maybe it is a special seasoning they add to some of their pizzas for their special customers? Maybe I should have tipped ? Tipping comes up auto when you order on their website (I hate that). When Gentillis landed here they made quite a splash. And I'll admit that the first Pizza we got there (takeout) was superb. Thin crispy crust, perfectly charred. A winner. But that has not stood up to the test of time. The second was good /ok - but not great. The 3rd - a "brooklyn" pie was pretty abysmal and not nearly what it was cracked up to be. I guess their idea of "fresh" mozzarella and mine are quite far apart. As well as what "thin crust" means. We "ate in" that night, and the kids (and i do mean teenagers) running the show there really need some training on customer service. Let's just say they didn't present as professional. They were having too good a time chatting and looking at their phones to be concerned with the customers on a Saturday night no less. Oh - if you're looking for ambiance - don't look here lol. its classic pizza shop. I have done the outside thing in the summer - i'm sure that adds a bit, but not inside. We did recently gave the cheesesteaks and hoagies a try. I will say that the cheesesteak was pretty darn good - even if a bit small by local standards (10"). The hoagie was not at the same level. They used a TON of sharp provolone - way more than meat and were stingy with the Prosciutto. That's unbalanced and just poor execution. I'll stick with Lorenzo's in West Chester,when it comes to hoagies and steaks - thanks. We might give their pizza one more try to see how it goes. A friend tipped me off just two days ago about how he had found an EPIC Philly Cheesesteak out in the suburbs (without driving to Downtown Philly to Angelo's or Uncle Gus'!) Right near the Exton Mall, I swung by yesterday after shopping at Boscov's for Christmas presents and opted for a slice of the ir Pizza for a light lunch. Yes, I saw several of their cheesesteaks carried by to other customers but tasting one will be on my next trip, but the thick , generous portion of rib eye steak, Coooer cheese, spilling out of a seeded roll for an astounding $15 looks like an incredible deal. But I digress- this family- run restaurant knows how to make astonishingly great pizza, and can do any of their offerings on GLUTEN-FREE crust. They use Imported Italian flours and cook up their crusts crispy, well done, and delicious that beats the mouth-feel of anything I have had in the area. The meats are of superior quality and flavor, and everything is available by the slice and displayed in a case of fresh slices in so great a variety you will have difficulty choosing just one! The slice named "The Charlie" called out to me, totally on visual appeal, and I learned secondarily that it sported classic pizza sauce, creamy Mozerella, pepperoni, finished with pecorino Romano, fresh Basil, and hot honey- It knocked my socks off! I actually was heading to Wendy's to get something quick and willing to suffer through that. Instead, I paid $20 to suffer through Gentili's. Best part, they made me wait 45minutes to suffer. I could give this place 5 stars for the customer service alone, but the food here is also outstanding. I've only been here twice, and the first time I had a lovely encounter with a regular who eats lunch there often. He told the man behind the counter it was my first time ordering and they offered two slices of pizza of my choice on the house. I've seen this place on Instagram and have heard nothing but good things, specifically regarding their cheesesteaks. When my co-worker picked up our order, there was something missing from mine so when my co-worker called to let them know, the OWNER quickly offered to deliver it for us. I will tell you what, as a healthcare professional who is only given 30 minutes to order lunch, drive there to pick it up, drive back, and then find time to eat between patients, this was SO appreciated. He wouldn't even accept a tip which I so badly wanted to give him for his troubles as I know he was so busy during lunch rush. Thank you so much, your kindness does not go unnoticed. I ordered a personal Abbruzese pizza which was literally perfect. The crust at this place is unmatched compared to other pizza places in the area, there is a nice crisp and a very slight char to it, but is by no means overdone. Ordered 5 sandwiches. 3 cheesesteak , 1 italiano, 1 drunken chicken. Cheesesteak were fine, roll seemed softer than my first time there however. Drunken chicken was fine, no issue. Italiano ( chicken cutlet , broccoli rabe, sharp provo) bland at best flavor wise and roll was completely burnt. I reviewed this place after I visited the first time, which was a great experience with good service and very good cheese steaks. The food is still top notch, but unfortunately I've noticed an irritating trend over the last two or three visits since my first review. Pretty simply, they prioritize the takeout orders over the dine In orders. The last three times I've been in a mostly empty restaurant and still took 18 to 20 minutes to get our steaks. In the meantime, I'm watching order after order walk out of the restaurant for takeout. Easily 6 or 7 take out orders for every dine in.. I know the restaurant biz, and there's no legitimate reason this should happen three times in a row other than favoring takeout. This defeats the purpose of counter service.. lve heard others, including people in the restaurant, complaining about the same thing. I'll give it one more shot just because the steaks are so good, but if it happens again, I'm out. There are several options nearby that still have a good cheesesteak, albeit not as good as this one, but at least comes with far less frustration. read more

Came Here in March just driving by and glad we did . Awesome. They were building a patio seating area back then . Fast forward to this past weekend and the patio is finished , the employees all look familiar and the food hasn't changed a bit . First visit yesterday @ 5:30. The place is brand new, so certainly clean. There are a decent # of tables, but most folks were take-out. One table for six near the side window, a handful of tables for four and one or two small tables for 2. Great service all around. The owner was on hand and training someone, so a lot on his plate while they gain popularity. For dinner, my wife and I split a Cheesesteak with onions and Cooper Sharp (standard) plus a large Abruzzese pie. The cheesesteak wasn't stuffed to the gills, but super tender and flavorful. Loaded with cheese (a bit too much for my taste, but I know I'm in the minority) with a seeded roll crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside (Carangi roll). Large onions cooked perfectly. The pie was solid too. Not as thin as I was expecting based on some of the early pics, but not overly salty as someone mentioned here. Great balance of flavors and served to us within 15 minutes. Overall, a great meal on that cheat day. I'll have to try their monthly special. I believe it was a meatball with vodka sauce.
