This is my second time in a few years span eating at this location. I don't live where the restaurant is located, but I have an office in the area and I travel there often. I ordered the ACP with shrimp for takeout and it was absolutely delicious. I did not realize it, but they have a drive-through where you can order or pick up your food after you have called it in for pick up. The salsa was some of the best I have had at any Mexican restaurant and I also like the fact that they had corn and lima beans in their rice. They added some great flavor. The parking lot was packed when I went to pick up my food, and when I walked in, there seemed to be a great vibe. I will definitely eat here each time. TACO RIENDO It's hit or miss with this restaurant. I had the carnitas with refried beans and salad. The carnitas were overcooked. They were dry and hard to chew. The refried beans were OK but not great. They had an odd color too. The other person with me had the chicken finger plate. The pieces were very small and the fries were soggy. I ordered from there because it's close to home but I wouldn't order from there any time soon. read more

Food was excellent. Margaritas were good but a little overkill in size and decoration. Services was good. They were able to figure out seating for a large party despite being a busy night for the restaurant. WARNING: they automatically included 29% gratuity on our bill for a large party. My family had a great experience at Taco Riendo during Covid. They are following state guidelines and has no hesitation dining at the establishment. We knew the place must be good when we saw the long pick up line. So cool how they have their pick up window situated. We were greeted promptly, seated promptly, and received chips and salsa promptly. The chips were warm and the salsa was great. I wish I caught the waitress' name. She took really good care of us. The food came to our table so quickly. We ordered the following items and you can see individual ratings Combination 11 - rated 4.5 by my daughter. She liked the flavors. Vegetarian C - rated 4.5 by my husband. He thought the beans had a little heat (I did not but he can detect spicy food when it is an inch from his plate) Veggie Fajitas - rated 5 by my daughter. She wanted to come back for lunch the next day. The fajitas had a unique flavor. We thought they were amazing. Cheek Taco - rated 4 by my daughter. She thought the taco relied on the flavors from the onion and cilantro. The meat was very tender. Chili Toreados - rated 5 by me. Yep - I love heat. Beautiful presentation. Three peppers on a bed of grilled onions and lime. These were spectacular. Loved this presentation as well. We highly recommend this restaurant. We are not locals and we were wowed by the food, the service and the price. So very glad we decided to eat here based on CURRENT Yelp reviews. Please try this place. Not sure why all the rave reviews here, the salsa was really mild and actually sweet, not awful but not great. I was disappointed in the chicken and steak fajitas, not much flavor to them. They didn't come out sizzling and while the chicken was safe to eat, nothing had any char to it like it's supposed to have. The vegetables and onions were barely cooked. The Texas margarita was ok, it came out immediately which means it's made in a large batch. The ceviche tostada was meh, as were the carne asada tacos. The prices weren't bad, but the food is lacking flavor and proper technique. The beans were the worst part of the meal, had a weird orange color to them which looked very unappealing. read more

By far the best mexican joint we've found so far while living out in Seneca. If you get the chance, dine in! Enjoy a nice margarita and check out the salsa bar. I must begin the review by saying that there was a piece of rice on the table when we sat down. I don't know if it was stuck to the menu, or if it was on the table from the last diners, but either way - kinda unfortunate. Things did look up from there, though. Our waitress was very nice and cheerful, and the food was good. My husband said that the steak in his burrito Jalisco was really good, both from a flavor and a quality perspective. My chicken burrito roqueta was good, though nothing special. I do appreciate the salsa bar, which allows one to mix and match heat levels, flavors and consistencies to find the exact right fit for the meal and the person. I've been meaning to try this place forever but there's another Mexican place in town that my mother like so when I visit her we go to the place that she likes. But I've been stuck here, in the upstate, for months now and will be here for another month of this place has become a default for me. The staff is really handling pandemic protocols very well it's one of the few places in the area that I feel comfortable regularly ordering food from. The food itself it's delicious it's well prepared. If you call ahead I recommend going inside to grab your food because the drive-through is waiting for orders to be made in this is a regular restaurant it's not fast food so it's car takes a spell. But if you didn't know what you wanted before you got here you could just stay in the car in the drive-through while they make it and then pay and drive away. So far I've had tacos I've had quesadillas iPad chimichanga I've had queso. Everything is excellent. read more

Actually, 4.5+ stars for the great chicken fajitas. I'm docking them .5 stars for the salsa. It was very thin and not up to par with the other food. All food came out piping-hot and in short order. The service was fine, but had to remind our server to bring back refills after dropping off the check. Don't even go anywhere else for your Mexican food because this is it! Great food and great service, highly recommend trying their nachos. I appreciate the fact that they don't Americanize it with extra ingredients like lettuce or guacamole. I ordered to go this time and it's still so good! Drive thru can take up to 20 minutes of waiting so I recommend calling for a pick up order. I got chicken nachos and tried their tacos for a quick bite. People talk all the time about their thoughts on "traditional Mexican" food. To me, if Hispanics eat at Mexican restaurants then it must be pretty dang good. And of all the Mexican joints I've ever been to, Taco Riendo has by far more Hispanic patrons than any I've ever experienced at any similar restaurant. Oh yeah, try their Traditional Tacos, which are located on the back page of their menu, which makes them easy to overlook. They're only $1.95 each and are way better than any of the hip new Mexican restaurants in Greenville. Plus, they come in about a dozen different varieties, too. They even have beef tongue tacos! Dont get me wrong, I truly enjoy the atmosphere at trendy joints like Willy Taco, etc. And Taco Riendo isnt as clean and cool as upscale places like Farmhouse Tacos in TR, or Tacos & Mas in Greer, but then they're not trying to be, either. But Taco Riendo must be more "traditional" when it comes to Mexican-style tacos, or all of those Hispanic folks would be eating somewhere else. read more

This is my first Yelp review. I've lived in this area 6 years now, and Taco Riendo is definitely my first choice in Mexican cuisine. Although I enjoy pretty much EVERYTHING on the menu, my favorite is the Carne Asada! Total deliciousness on a plate! But it isn't just the texture and flavor, but the touch of a true chef includes the presentation! It LOOKED good! I asked the staff to tell me which chef actually prepared my plate, and I always request that he is the one preparing my meals now when I go there. Oh, on top of the meat, there was this delicious looking green pepper(so I thought)...actually it was a tender great tasting cut of cactus and it added to the meal! I went with my family to Taco Riendo on a Saturday night. Parking was difficult, probably because of a pub next door. Taco Riendo was not overly busy and we didn't have to wait for tables. Service was quick and helpful. Chips and salsa were provided as free appetizer. A salsa bar allowed guests to choose what kind of salsa we preferred. I ordered the burritos with pork. They were large and very good. My dinner came with a lettuce and tomato side salad, and guacamole which I didn't eat. The burritos were tender and delicious. My family got other things that also looked delicious. They served Dos XX's Amber beer in very large frozen mugs. YUM! Total for 4 people including beer was only about $50 plus tip. Very reasonable. Ordered two fish tacos. It took a long time and when I got them they were greasy and had saturated through TWO tortillas! That leads me to believe: 1. The fish was frozen 2. Waitress got sidetracked Never got water refilled or asked how it was. I left .70 on a $5.30 tab as tip which I thought was fair all things considered. Waitress follows me to my CAR and tells me to take my .70 back! I figure that to be around 15%??? When I informed the manager that his waitress followed me to tell me my tip was inadequate he shrugged and says "it was only .70 and maybe she don't like it". Wow! read more
