Monte Alban is great true authentic Mexican food. Even my native born Mexican friend loved her meal! I had the Tierra y Mar and it was perfect. Filling, fresh, and flavorful! Service was also kind and even gave my friend a replacement when she didn't realize her meal had cheese in it (she was vegan). Some folks in the group did note their alcoholic drinks didn't taste like there was much alcohol in it so maybe the drinks are weak. Parking: plenty of spots, they're connected to a gas station. read more

I ordered the Lunch Special Pollo Con Crema and my lunch mate order the Lunch Steak Fajitas The fajitas although not sizzling were very tasteful, however the Pollo Con Crema (menu description - Special White Sauce was actually a cheese dip/sauce and very sparingly administered - so I was very disappointed. Chips and salsa are free but smaller than normal Mexican restaurants I'm used to but they do refill soon and ordered a cheese dip and my daughter ordered the chimichangas and my husband ordered the El Combo. Since opening they have definitely worked out the kinks. The food is always amazing! I go often.

I have been a fan since opening. I love their meats and entrées. I am a tough critic at most Mexican restaurants, after living in mexico for 12 years. I would have given at least 4 stars but the last 3 visits have not been as good. I am giving the benefit and chalking it up to timing since all 3 visits have been after 8pm. We just returned from our first meal at Monte Alban and it definitely won't be the last. This place was almost full when we arrived (I think we got the last available table) but it's very clean, the service, food and drinks were excellent, and the pricing was very reasonable. Laken was our waitress and made it a fun evening as well as making some helpful suggestions (for example, she suggested a pitcher when we all 4 ordered the same margarita). We got the steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas and not only were the tasty but we took half of ours home after having plenty for dinner. first time visit. came highly recommended. found menu to be confusing to follow. pictures seemed to not match the food. food served was not hot, but maybe mildly warm. rice was cold. fish fried hard as a rock. i had a chicken, shrimp, and scallops. had tons of chicken and only four shrimp and scallops. the so-called cheese sauce spread generosity over the meat, was salty tasting. it also was not hot, maybe warm. service was sporadic. had to ask for refills. had to get our own to go boxes. they did not pay us enough attention. there seemed to be a language barrier. all she said was yes, yes, yes. asked for water with lemons on the side. water was served with no lemans at all. asked for extra napkins and only got two. the server seemed hurried. like she didn't have time to spend with us. sorry, will not go back. read more

Well, another restaurant here bites the dust. Last year this was our go-to for Tex-mex but no longer. The food quality, cleanliness and service have all gone down the past 4 months. I can't, in good conscience, recommend this place anymore. Very disappointing. read more

WOW! Finally a GREAT dining option in Seneca! These folks are FANTASTIC! Super Friendly and Attentive Staff, Super Clean Establishment, and Really Good Food. It's your standard Mexican restaurant fare, not lacking in any options. Everything was really good. My only complaint would be the salsa, too tomato sauce/ketchupy.
