Since visiting the Baja I have been on a quest to make legit street taco like we had there! So I…read morelove going to little markets that have legit ingredients! This is my go to place for Corn Tortilla Shells! They have large packages of 100 that are kept in the cooler for freshness. I prefer these ones to the smaller packages on the shelf in the super markets...filled with preservatives! They also have the different sizes! I love getting the small street taco size that you can't find everywhere! They carry Valentine's Hot Sauce as well which we have found very important for a good taco! Recently a friend of ours from Mexico had us for dinner and served us Hibiscus Juice made from dried Hibiscus Flowers. It was so good she sent us home with a little baggie and said Los Guerreros sells them! I will be heading there this week because we all loved the juice! Thankful for stores that carry unique, quality ingredients. Allowing people to experience the richness that other cultures bring...oh how I love this about Canada!

A great little shop specializing in imported Mexican and Latin American foods. You can find a wide array of salsas, sauces, chilies, flours, sweets and some frozen goods. They also have kitchen goods like tortilla makers and assorted cooking apparatus. There always seems to be something going on at the shop whether it's people stopping by to chat or just hang out in the summer under the canopy out front. The store is small but super welcoming and they're always getting new items in to try. I like how if you have questions about certain items or if you're trying out a new recipe and need an opinion they're always more than happy to help you out. I really appreciate their warmth that way. This store also tends to carry items that you can't get at Superstore or the specialty isle at Safeway. That in itself is awesome. They're far from a one-stop shop but of the products they offer, they do it right.

I ordered the regular vegan crumble burrito and he got the regular chorizo. When preparing my burrito the staff acknowledged that I'd ordered the vegan crumble and promptly offered me the Vegan Mozzarella to go alongside it, which I happily took. The seasonings on the fillings and the array of fresh ingredients are always on point for any location I've been to, and in this case, it was no different. Delicious, flavourful, crisp, and well seasoned, with a light yet tangy list of sauces to choose from that are perfectly paired to top it off. The only issue we had was when we ordered the churros to try them out (1 for each of us) and were told it would be 5 minutes and they would bring them to our table, and after 10 or so minutes of waiting we had yet to receive them. Even at the time of this posting, still, 15 mins in, with no churro. The pace of customers has slowed greatly and they're cleaning which is good to see but we're still disappointed we paid and are left waiting. Otherwise, the staff was very pleasant, accommodating, and on the ball, overall. The location is clean, well-lit and inviting. Definitely recommend and will come back again~ :) Update: Staff who took our order came over to let us know that the churros were accidentally burned and that they are re-firing fresh ones just for us. The wait is long but the service is great... 4.5 star rating? ;)

For this one I built my own bowl with rice, grains, chicken, beef, corn, cooked veggies, mango salsa, lettuce, and cheese. It was delicious. I ate more than I should have and then made a second bowl to take home for dinner! This is a great option for catered work lunches because people can make what they want, and it's fun and flavourful!

This is probably the best takeout I have had in Walnut Grove, of any kind…read more And probably the best tacos / Mexican food I've had in the Vancouver area, outside my favorite spots in the center of the city. My goodness what delicious flavours! The proteins are definitely cooked with care and attention to the recipes. Each one is the quintessential style you know and love... Carnitas, Al Pastor, Barbacoa etc... But so amped with intensity and depth of flavour. And the right type of cook on them. The barbacoa (lamb) is delicious. Melt in your mouth tenderness, with a rich lamb flavour fortified by all the seasoning. The carnitas is definitely fried to get all those wonderful crispy bits. Mallard browning FTW. And the Al Pastor. The beat Al Pastor I've had anywhere, hands down. Pineapple forward sweetness, but perfectly balanced with the savory side of things, and then accented by the taste of the high-heat with a little charring. It almost had a tandoor-type flavour. Amazing. My family tried tacos, burritos, and sopes. All were great. But I think the burritos and sopes were the biggest hits. Very satisfying. There are so many other offerings that we will need to go back to try. From tortas and gorditas to enchiladas and sopas. And I am here for that challenge.

But the worst part of the experience was the service. Perhaps it was cause there was one person tending to many. He was Mexican. In his overwhelmed state, he missed some essentials. First, he gave us an entire platter of tacos w 4 small containers of salsa. I knew it'd be quickly gone so I asked for more. I also had to ask for lime. What? He didn't know we'd need lime and more salsa? It got to the point that I had to start grabbing the things myself cause it took him so long or he forgot. He looked annoyed when I did. So either prep us well for our meal or make self service easy, but scowling doesn't make sense.

When I was seated, I ordered the Smoked Duck Breast Benedict and coffee. The benedict was great overall. The duck meat was exceptionally good if not a little chewy while the honey mustard helped add a vibrant flavour to the entrée. The hashbrowns were solid good and crunchy. The side of fruit were very fresh and juicy to eat. The coffee was great and I saw myself having a second cup. The establishment was mildly lit and clean; aspects I usually like in a restaurant. The service was excellent. I received my food what only seemed like minutes after ordering, and the servers were very perceptive to my needs. Besides waiting, I had a great time at Delphi's, and I hope to come back there very soon to try something new.

My brother and I both liked the burrito (mine was asada and his was carnitas). I do wish guac wasn't extra (for $3), but I guess that's hard to come by at $10 nowadays. You can't go wrong with Tacos, am I right?…read more Well with these guys, I'm not so sure... The staff here are very inexperienced. If you say you want Al Pastor or Carnitas or Tinga de Pollo like the menu board lists them first, the staff have to turn around and scan the board to see the english translation. So I make sure I say the Spanish version every time for the entertainment factor. But then... I'm not sure if it matters what I ask for? All the protein options taste pretty much the same here. Tinga de Pollo (chicken with chipotle) and Pollo Asada (grilled chicken) taste identical. You get virtually zero extra flavour or texture difference with the Tinga De Pollo. Same with the pork and beef options -- all very neutrally bland, somewhat dry, and all very similar to each other. The toppings are at a walkalong bar kind of like Chipotle. They're all very normal. A big sloppy bucket full of pico de gallo is the first thing, and the big metal spoon they use for serving it is typically dropped right into it when not in use and they dunk their hand in to grab it. Quite unappetizing really. The rest of the toppings are all just OK as well. The pickled onions isn't very flavourful just like everything else as well. They swim in a liquid that has a bit of a white milkiness too it -- also unappetizing. I make mexican pickled onions all the time and I have no idea what that would be. Being the only "real" taco place nearby, I've grabbed some take out from here a couple of times in a pinch... because my heart always tells me you can't go wrong with tacos. But my brain is starting to remind me how meh it is and that maybe we should go somewhere else. I used to rank these guys higher but I've started to learn that maybe I was mistaken.
