Pork tacos were authentic, hot and tasty. The pork had a great flavor.. I will be back!

Sad to report, but after 2 recent experiences, I'll be pausing on Taco Works for a long time. We loved the downtown spot since it opened for its generous meat filled tacos, the braised beef was our favorite! Sadly, no longer an option on the menu. Portion sizes have greatly reduced. I ordered 6 tacos tonight for my husband and I, before I could barely finish 2 and now we were both hungry after 3. You can see my previous trip pictures on the other Ft Myers location before this location was live on Yelp and the difference in offering. Barely any meat! The staff has changed and the vibes have changed. Smoking a cigarette within feet of the building. Not a great look or smell for patrons. read more

Pretty fresh tacos being served up in this spot with fast, in and out service. Located in downtown Ft Myers, definitely a good little late night spot. I got 2'street tacos and 2 specialty tacos with rice and beans for about $21. The ingredients were fresh. I liked the chicken protein the best. Would definitely come back. read more

Interesting concept for a taco place! We checked this out on our way to the Music Walk downrown. You can make bowls, burritos, tacos, etc and they have some creative options like buffalo chicken and Korean bbq. Interesting place. At Taco Worx, I ordered a bowl with ground beef and chicken. It was OK...a little skimpy on the double meat. The spice came mostly from the jalapeños. Everything else's was pretty average. Nothing outstanding sadly. I took my food into the "hidden" speakeasy behind the metal door. It wasn't anything spectacular...like entering another world which is what I guess I was expecting. It is very dark in the bar and music was good. Well, kind of cliche Mexican tunes and miscellaneous other songs. The most captivating and welcoming person was Ari. It's like she was trying to really sell the place while everyone else was simply going through the motions. Kudos to you Ari! Taco Worx (etc.) is not going to be a regular spot for me. Food: 8.5/10 To the chip to the base: Chips: crispy level 100 Saltiness of said chip: could be a bit more salt, buy I see why is a just tad..so it doesn't take it away from the other flavors. Fresh ingredients: 100% (I ended up getting the Buffalo chicken nachos) my only input: needs a bit more kick and the nacho to ingredient ratio needs to be more balanced. The tacos are decent for the price. They aren't authentic Mexican style rather fusion style. I ordered the cucumber salad which wasn't great. I saw this and they open and decided to give it a try. It's a cute tiny little restaurant close to downtown. There's not really a lot of place to sit inside, but they have some tables outside on the sidewalk which I like anyway. The young man behind the counter was very good at explaining some things on the menu. The only thing that I would say is that on the menu? It said that sour cream was included already in the food. My husband had asked for no sour cream. When we got it, it had sour cream in it but they charged us $.50 for the sour cream so if it's already included, it should already be in the price. Especially since my husband asked for it to be taken out. But that was minor. I'm just a stickler about those kinds of things. I got the chicken tzatziki taco which quite frankly was amazing and then I also got the Korean barbecue beef bowl. The Korean was good, but I probably wouldn't order again. I would try something different. But I definitely would get that chicken tzatziki again. My husband got the Spicier bowl. I think it's the standard. I don't remember sorry and he said it was pretty good and spicy. So I'm gonna go back because I liked the restaurant in the atmosphere. My husband probably won't. My boyfriend brought me here after saying that I want tacos a couple of weeks ago. I'm from Texas and have had a hard time finding authentic tacos, but for them having unauthentic tacos, they blow Velvet Taco out of the water! Their pork is so juicy. Ordered pickup and I was greeted by a very friendly worker. My chicken bowl was delicious and packed with so much food, it was a delight after a long day. My only knock is that it had a quite a bit of sour cream, but I forgot to take it off when placing the order online. Other than that, they followed my instructions to the point. Arrived at exactly 8:15 pm at the downtown location only to see they closed early. Very disappointing considering I drove all the way here and the other fort myers location is closed on Sundays. They should really update their hours to avoid customer disappointment. read more

Had a great experience today at Taco Works. The service was great! Sammy & Devon were immediately welcoming to us, friendly and made suggestions. They even suggested sauces that would pair well with the tacos (thanks guys!). The food was awesome and creative. We had a great time eating and dancing to the music. There's a comment about the bathrooms on here and I am super picky about bathroom cleanliness. This bathroom was clean and tidy. No issues there. Can't wait to come back. Awful. They also give you next to no meat on salads, when you ask why they tell you you have to pay an upgrade charge for more meat. I am not positive, but on my last visit, and it was my last, I got food poisoning. I don't know how this place stays in business. There are so many other good taco places. read more

Taco Works is the place to be. Best Tacos, hands up , in SWFL! For my 1st time, I got 3 street Tacos, and they were huge! Didn't expect that. Next time I'll be getting a specialty Taco. But they have beer, a full bar, music playing, great service, it definitely was a great experience! read more

Insane I go there at least three times a month never have had an issue before and today I was there right at 2:05 a.m. ordered two tacos and one still sold me beer after two. Was eating my taco and then I was actually assaulted by a security guard that told me I could not eat inside. I asked him if they were open till three he said f you and then threw me outside. It's just really unfortunate because I brought a group of friends that were visiting from out of town and kept raving about this place and this is what happened. What an embarrassment it really sucks. I will never go to this place. I will tell everyone I know not to go to this place. They will assault you if you go on a Saturday. The security guards are absolute hothead. It is insane. I don't get it at all. I have never been in an altercation downtown in all of my 15 years of living here, but today was the first time and it happened at my favorite place so unfortunate.
