My wife and I are here for a week and have eaten at quite a few places at the Lani Kai. We decided on Yo! Taco because they had a vegetarian offering of black beans and rice. And we didn't have any tacos! Ha! Anyway the dish was good, but it definitely needed a squirt of sauce. The amount was good size with a generous amount of both the rice and beans. Plus there was plenty of tomatoes cheese and sour cream. The squirt of the sauce helped put some spark into to an otherwise bland serving. Best meal in FMB! Great tacos,nachos esp the Jacked Up taco! Walk up order and service at Lani Kai. Same food that used to be had at the food truck just out front. We made trip here after some bar hopping for dinner. All of our group kept talking about how great it was the rest of our stay. Unfortunately not waking distance from where we stayed this trip. My wife had some chicken hard shell and soft shell tacos, while my kids (12 and 16) had the Big Donkey Burrito andI had beef hard shell tacos and a Big Donkey beef (comes in chicken and steak as well). Happy to say it was all really yummy. The homemade taco shells were a star for sure. The Big Donkey was very tasty, and while big, was not huge. The tacos were good, they ran out of steak and it was not late night at all like 8pm, but what's up with no masks at all behind the counter. Never mind for the pandemic but sweaty dudes handling my dinner not caring about a pandemic and maybe not the cleanest place in the world. The service had something left to be desired. They had a vegan option for my friend. Veggie taco no cheese. So that was good. Unfortunately they didn't hear me say no cheese or sour cream in the beans and rice or to make it vegan; so my one vegan friend couldn't have it. I got the beef and chicken tacos and they were good. Who doesn't love Tacos? Who doesn't love tacos on the beach? Great place to grab some quick tacos before (or after) heading to the beach. They are open late too. Reasonably priced and always fresh. The fresh made shells are awesome and I recommend trying the crispy tacos. read more

Ambiance: This place is right outside the Lani Kai so it's pretty much always busy, especially with young teenagers. You come up to the window to order your food and wait for your name to be called. Very fun painted colors. There are a couple picnic tables and a couple high tops. No shaded tables if that's what your looking for. You need a key to get into the teeny tiny bathroom in the back. The cashier was very sweet. Food: So honestly a little bit of a let down. It was all really fresh so that was great. The flavor on the other hand was pretty bland. The portion sizes were actually pretty small for the price as well. I paid $7 for a large burrito that was about half the size of a chipotle burrito. First off the prices are outrageous. In my short time being there, multiple people left because of the prices. $30 for two quesadillas, I feel like I was scammed. Great taco stand close to the beach. We passed by when walking home from the beach and got a whiff of the aroma. We unloaded our gear and walked back to pick up tacos for the crew. They offer steak, beef, chicken, and veggie. The steak tacos must be really good because they were out of steak two days in a row. We ordered a few beef, chicken, a quesadilla, burrito, and nachos. I normally don't leave reviews, but this place was so awful, I just had to... I have been a strict vegetarian for the past ten years. I asked very clearly for a cheese quesadilla, and made sure to verify that there was absolutely NO meat in this order. What did I end up with? A chicken quesadilla. Unfortunately for me, I didn't realize this until I was already a few bites in. I brought it back to the counter and the woman working there threw it away for me and offered to redo the quesadilla... but it was too late. I was disgusted and nearly vomited. I'm sure most people would've loved to receive free chicken on their cheese quesadilla, but for me it was devastating. I even tried to make myself vomit.
