So glad we found this spot. The food is SO GOOD and I absolutely love the aesthetic. We had the honey limeade- I loved it and am still craving it. (My fiancé wasn't a huge fan, but he likes more sweet things) We did the taco meals which was the perfect amount of food- in total we had 4 different style tacos between the 2 of us, my favorite was the Korean BBQ and Spicy Chorizo. My fiancé loved the chipotle steak. We also got the ultimate trio chips/guacamole/salsa/queso. The guacamole was on point, probably some of the best I've ever had. The food came out super fast too and they provide free refills. I will def be coming back! (Not to mention they help provide free meals for children for ever meal purchases) read more

We love this place! Great cause too. I like the nachos, but sometimes I just need to get a couple tacos. I like trying new tacos each time and my husband loves the beef tacos every time. It is a sweet little place to go out to eat. We like the inside of the restaurant and also the patio when it is warm. The owner is really kind, and you can tell she cares about how it is maintained. Certainly not your typical 'Mex taco place' - the soft taco is excellent- tried them all and never been disappointed- plus the sides of rice and creamed corn (WOW) should not be missed. The most positive attributes is employee training - apparently they provided resources to train everyone in customer service excellence - from day one. I really like the concept and the tacos. However the few times I've come they are always behind. Today at 2 pm I sat in the drive thru for almost 10 minutes before they asked the car in front of me to pull up to wait. I only ordered one taco and they told me to also pull forward to wait. I was told it was lunchtime and they were swamped. Again like the concept but they clearly have some process and staffing issues that need to be solved. read more

The food was better than the service. Not saying a lot but the rude staff was just surprising. I give the food a 3 and the service a 1. Overly aggressive in their approach to manage the line. Because the line extended out the door one lady rushed over to say "you will have to close the door and wait outside as the air is exiting and the flies are entering". It was 70 degrees outside. The "line" only accommodates about 4-5 people which is poor planning for lunch hour. Guest simply don't know how to wait to be served. Appreciate the support for your business more because tacos are not an original concept. Coupled with bad service we are better served at Taco Bell at least the drive through works. read more

We used the drive-thru and ordered four tacos: Hawaiian Shrimp, Korean Beef, Carnitas and Eggplant along with Mexican corn and Black beans as sides. Everything was forgettable. While I understand the menu offering may feel exciting in its newness to the area, the lack of flavor and strange choices in execution (toppings, quality of tortillas, etc.) makes this place mediocre at best. This is also our first time at a taco restaurant where salsa or hot sauce was not even offered... It's as if they're intentionally trying to be bland. There is certainly a market for what they're serving. It's just not for anyone with discerning taste, those of us who have tasted tacos from more seasoned regional chains or authentic Mexican taquerias. I'd suggest Maciel's, Las Tortugas or El Mero instead. Still interested in going? Cool cool. That's on you. Try the lemonade with honey. It was the only truly good thing we had. While you are there, you may want to remind them their masks need to be worn - all the way covering their noses, and at all - in order to ensure customer safety. read more

First visit today and it was excellent. I had the blackened mahi-mahi tacos and queso rice and it did not disappoint. Planned to take a picture but the food was gone! My family has eaten here quite a few times since they opened for business a couple years ago at this location. We arrived shortly after 5 pm today (a Saturday) and were surprised when there seemed to be an all-hands effort at about 5:25 by the staff to start sweeping the floors and putting chairs up on the tables all around us. I checked my watch to ensure I wasn't stuck in a time warp or a victim of narcolepsy and maybe inadvertently butting against their posted closing time (8 pm on the web AND the sign on the front doors). Alas, no - it really was 5:25 pm and they were acting like they were shutting the place down. In a couple of minutes, someone nicely came by and took my wife's tray and - and with me literally still putting food in my mouth, she asked if I was done. Then, we were surprised to see the doors being locked at 5:30. Wow. Management: have you run restaurants so long that you don't recognize three pretty clear signals in the space of five (5) minutes which say, "You need to hurry and finish and get out" ?? We were not anywhere close to being the only patrons still eating, either. Imagine the annoyance when I got up to refill my wife's iced tea only to find the tea dispenser missing. (Coupled with the other things, this sure as hell looked like iteration #4 of, "Thank you and buh-bye" from staff and management). I had a perplexed/vexed look on my face and a kind young man on staff recognized that look - and asked if he could help me (I was standing, holding my cup and staring at the spot where just a couple minutes before the tea urn had been). All during the previous few minutes there had been the noise of chairs being taken off of the floors and folks were sweeping the floor around us and the rest of their customers. I asked someone if they were closing early and after a slight hesitation was told, "Just the dining room." The straw that broke the camel's back for me was when I went back to the soft drink machine to refill MY drink and while the machine was squirting into my cup a young man reached around me and swept his broom between me and the panel holding the drink machine and ran his broom over my shoe. He never said one word - you know like, "Oh, I'm sorry." By this time, I pronounced to my wife and anyone else in earshot that we were DONE with the joint. I fairly well stormed out of the place, not really knowing if anyone there heard. If they did, they didn't care - because nobody came out the door behind me. Can you tell that I'm fairly aghast at any number of the things that happened today? I have reduced my feelings from borderline anger at the rudeness on the part of several staff members but their actions pretty much communicated that it wasn't their fault. Not knowing any differently, it sure as heck would seem they were told something like, "Hey ... we are closing the place at 5:30 amid you guys better be done with this, that and the other thing by _________ o'clock or heads will roll!" I don't know how many times we've eaten there for sure - but it's been a LOT. Unbelievably, this was my wife's second meal there TODAY - the food was that good. Hey, owner/manager - care to guess when we may be back? Our food was great, too. I kinda wish it hadn't been, because writing this place off wouldn't be nearly as hard otherwise. read more

This was the first time ever eating here the food was ok., I have had better at Taco Bell actually. They hate people that where trump hats, and actually walked up to my wife after we ate and she was refilling her drink and asked her if she was in danger or being abused. This was totally out of line. They are mask crazy as my mask did fall below my nose and I was immediately told told to pull my mask over my nose all while the other 3/4 people were talking and eating near me with out masks. I did drive thru at about 4:30. Not crowded at all. Ordered Korean beef tacos - great. Fried chicken taco was great but ono sauce was a little spicy. Ordered the Hawaiian taco minus coconut and coconut was on it. Too much pineapple on it. Basically tossed it due to coconut. Ordered a Korean steak bowl and got no wontons on it. My food was good, I was pleased to know they had a vegan and gluten friendly option! Although my appetite was satisfied, I'm very upset with the behavior my waitress gave to my friend :( My friend had ordered 3 tacos. She ate all except one of the tortillas. When our waitress came to pick up her tray, she made an unnecessary and inappropriate comment saying, "idk if you're watching your carbs but next time you can order a lettuce base option instead of the tortilla". Although her motive was uncertain, the comment was not delivered in a respectful way. Comments on food, "watching carbs", or anyone's plate should not be the concern to others. Such a good spot! I love that they donate a meal for every meal purchased. You can tell their meats are cooked fresh and from quality producers. The first time I had their guac, it was incredible. The second time, not so much but I'm chalking that up to how busy they were that day. Would highly recommend the carnitas taco and the mahi mahi. This restaurant's atmosphere was very cute. The food was ok, I wished they had more vegetarian options. The problem I had was, I ordered a cheese quesadilla, and I asked the girl kids size. I also asked if chips where included and she said yes. The quesadilla was an full portion. And when I asked two staff they just started arguing, saying chips are not included. This was my first visit to Tacos for Life. Some people at work go there a lot so I figured they would be great. Not so much. I went there because it stated they had a drive through. Apparently it is broken so no drive through. Took 20 minutes altogether, to get my food. Had just enough time to drive back to work at 80 miles an hour so I wouldn't be late. Came straight in and took a bite of the Hawaiian Taco. It was so cold there were ice crystals on the pineapple. The other tacos were only mildly hotter. Paid $18.00 bucks for those 3 cold tacos. I love this place! It is actually fast food, it you wouldn't know it. I like everything I've had. The nachos are huge, and like a combination of nachos and fajitas, with grilled peppers and onions in addition to the meat. Quesadillas are wonderful. The side dishes are unusual, it what you would expect to find at a fast food restaurant....Mexican corn, black beans with cheese, really good guacamole. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I love the whole experience at Tacos 4 Life! I think their menu sets them a part. They have a really good selection to choose from. The mango habanero taco is so good! It's bursting with so many different flavors and textures at once -- all coming together seamlessly. I also enjoy the service. They are friendly and swift. And lastly, the design of the building is gorgeous. I haven't gotten a chance to go inside, but the patio area and lights you can see from the inside looks really nice. Waited in line for more than 15 minutes and ordered nachos with steak. After getting my order it was incorrect that's strike 1. Strike 2 again not enough cheese in comparison to my 1st visit (opening week). I pulled up to the drive thru again and explained my order was incorrect. Long story short they bought me the correct order and she said we put extra cheese on it and the next time you come you need to order extra cheese....who said I'm going back...strike 3 they put so many beans on the tacos you would initially think it's steak. My boyfriend just moved here not too long ago, and this is the only "new-to-us" restaurant we've visited more than once. The inside is so cute & the tables and chairs were very clean. Advertised closing time is 9 but closing at 8. When I went to order cashier lady told me the last 10 minutes of opening was to-go orders only. So, at 7:50 they were taking to-go orders only and wouldn't even let us sit outside on patio. read more

Came back today for a Birthday lunch. Bacon ranch chicken on corn tortillas was still great. Carnitas was good but not spicy at all. Beef tacos were a bit spicy though The Queso rice and the cream corn were good but beans were NOT good at all. Good customer service as always. read more

My wife and I recently moved back to the area from Chicago and just happened to find this place and glad we did. The food is so good and really fresh. We have ordered take out many times and the service is very quick. I just love the basic ground beef tacos but have tried several and all are excellent. Don't be fooled by the fast food look to the place, it is well worth you time and money to check it out. read more

I get food here about twice a month and totally live the food, but always check your order before you leave because it's wrong about half the time. Nice place, friendly staff, clean. But the food.... these are White people tacos- hands down. No spice, minimal flavor. Even the guacamole was super bland- needed some lime juice. I had the carnitas taco and beef taco. The carnitas were SUPER greasy, the beef (which I assumed would be a shredded beef barbacoa) was seasoned ground beef. Neither taco had salsa- I did go back and get some but it tasted like it came out of a jar and had zero heat. Both tasted like they were created by a 50 year old white woman. The Mexican street corn was bland as well, and not made with mayo and Chile powder like the real stuff. My wife got steak tacos - the meat was good- but the taco ingredients left a lot to want for. The tortillas tasted like the chalupa bread from Taco Bell. I was hoping for better, but was disappointed. I would strongly suggest going to the other taco spot in Collierville- the authentic one with flavorful food that's 1/3 of the price. We paid $30 for 4 tacos, 2 sides, and fountain drinks. read more
