Food was plentiful and cheap. I had two burritos and two quesadillas to get a bit of everything. Asada burrito was my fav. Shrimp quesadilla was utterly forgettable. Birria was good. Pastor was okay, very salty for no reason. They did not skimp on the meat! I grew up in Florida and my bar for Hispanic food is sky high. My whole family loves this place! Although the corn tacos are only $2.50 each, the portions are so generous, I can't finish three; even two can be a lot with a beverage. My vegetarian teenage son was unable to finish his bean and cheese burrito ($10). How often do you fill up a teenager? It's an especially happy day when we see the handmade card taped to the order window, "Hoy se vende carnitas"; it's spectacular. The condiments are in large squeeze bottles on a cart, and there's also pickled onions, and freshly sliced radishes to cut the richness of the meat. We had this food truck at the Michigan State Fair grounds. I liked that unlike the other vendors, they did not charge for me to use my credit card. The people working were nice.I liked the variety of tacos and food they had on the menu. We got a birria taco. It was $5. It has a nice amount of beef and it tasted pretty good. They had some salsa and sour cream which is a bonus. I have never seen a food truck or restaurant have sour cream to add on your own. Nice! The problem was that it said birria, but there was no sauce on top, it was dry, no cheese, and very small for the price. We ate it in three bites. read more

I stumbled across this place by accident and I am so happy that I did! I was driving through Mexicantown and I saw a line of people ordering tacos at this food truck and I knew I had to see what the hype was about. I ordered the pastor and chorizo taco, both of which were phenomenal and loaded! For $2.50 tacos, you can beat this spot! They have a salsa bar off to the side and the avocado salsa was definitely my favorite. There are a lot of taco food trucks out there and this is one you need to stop at! We ordered tripas (tripe), lengua (beef tongue), and cabeza (beef head). Also ordered a horchata and it only.comes in pne size small. Tacos were good but it is wrapped in foil so be prepared if you are eating this in your car. They have a few tables to eat under the tent. Nice set-up on Springwells, great chicken and al pastor tacos, toothpicks! Halfway down Springwells you'll find Tacos El Caballo, parked alongside a residential house in a big gravel parking lot. The pastor tacos are superb, and the chicken is nice - I'm fairly certain they're seasoned with celery salts, which makes for an interesting kick. No grilled onions or peppers on the side, BUT, they do have a little jar brimming with toothpicks which is worth its weight in gold when you're in the market for mid-afternoon tacos. You can say it's a cliché to get quite possibly this town's best tacos in Mexican town (not even in the same BALLPARK as that "South of the border" crap), but it's even better, in this time we live in, that it's located (PARKED is a better term) OUTSIDE in an empty lot in the corner of Longworth and Springwell Sts. in Southwest Detroit! Yes! It's a food truck! Reminds me so much of my favorite food truck in Lacey, WA. I ordered 7 (yes SEVEN, I was STARVING ok?) marinated pollo in a corn tortilla. The size is a tad bit smaller than the "bell's" but the flavor packs a punch! I would say it's just a half a notch shy compared to that of my favorite food truck out NW. They gave me two sauces on the side (one's a little milder than the other but they both have a KICK!), a wrapped caramelized onion and jalapeño peppers, and another side of lime wedges. I only ate 5 of the 7 and it's filling! They will DEFINITELY get a visit from me again and THIS TIME there WILL BE pictures. Wow honestly phenomenal. They even do a 10/$10 on Tuesday. I was happily surprised by the quality especially since it's a food truck. Authentic tacos make Taco Bell look and taste like straight dog food. My fiancé and I go here every Tuesday, not to mention whenever we pass it in general. Easily worth the money, 100% recommend! I ordered two quesadillas and they were not good at all. They didn't grilled the quesadillas and the shrimp tasted uncooked. It was soggy & poorly constructed all together. They don't put the food in a container for your connivence, they just wrap it in aluminum foil and throw it in a plastic bag. Customer service was poor as well.
