We've come here like 7 times now for different things, absolutely delicious! I read someone's review say things about about a lot of things gone wrong... idk what that was about, they have The BEST salsa bar I have seen, Salsa matcha is my fav!!, but all salsas are authentic. I've had birria tacos, tacos al pastor, w frijoles charros and corn as a side both were great. Other couple times I was in for gelato, so delicious !, other time was for coffee, I've had a Latte and a Cappuchino, my husband has had their Chocolate latte and loved it. Staff has been courteous during all our visits. Definitely give them a try if you like the cuisine, coffee or gelato. By the way if you particular with your coffee source, they use high quality Arkansas sourced ONYX coffee ! read more

I recently visited Tacos el Carbon for a much-anticipated meal, but unfortunately, I left feeling quite disappointed. While place was clean and nice, the experience was tainted by the behavior of the staff. I couldn't help but overhear the staff talking about me to their coworkers when they thought I wasn't paying attention. It was disheartening to realize that instead of focusing on providing service, they were making comments that should have stayed behind the scenes. Moreover, a simple dish that normally costs half as much at other restaurants was priced extravagantly here, and I expected a much higher quality to match. --what I received was far too basic and super greasy for such a steep cost. In short, if you're looking for a dining experience where you're treated with respect and enjoy reasonably priced food, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. The combination of overheard comments and extreme pricing left me feeling undervalued and unsatisfied. read more

I'm really glad this restaurant is here. Some friends called us up tonight wanting to go to dinner so we suggested tacos El Carbon. Prior to coming here I had not heard anything about it other than it was a bit more expensive than someone was expecting. I did not find it any more pricey than any other restaurant today. All of the food seemed extremely fresh and prepared by hand, not having set around for a long time as some Mexican restaurants in our community where you could order fajitas and have them at your table in three minutes (I won't name any names). Atmosphere: it is a very clean cool fun, simple environment. They have done a lot with the place and yet kept it very simple. Seating is simple, and table tables could be pushed together for parties, but there are also booths and places to sit outside. Food: our table had four adults we all ordered meals which include included an entrée aside and a drink. The food ordered at our table was: Torta (sirloin meat, which was roasted on a spigot, this is very similar to a Philly steak cheese sandwich) Tacos (same kind of meat), Gringa (which is basically a quesadilla, El Pastore) and some kind of enchilada with green chili sauce. Our sides were a combination of grilled Street corn and charro beans. The street corn was very good. The charro beans were not what I was expecting, but they were equally as good (this dish can be made several different ways, the one made here was primarily white beans, bacon, hotdog, and mini spices, it's very good. I would definitely order it again.) as well we ordered a guacamole and it did not disappoint either. Style: in my opinion, this is a restaurant that is very reminiscent of Mexican street food. Our portions did not disappoint. There is also a very well equipped salsa bar that surely has a salsa to fit any person's desire. This place is open from 10 AM to 10 PM seven days a week, without a doubt we will return. This is also the kind of place you could go to and end up spending a couple of hours sitting talking eating and then getting up and going to enjoy dessert at their gelato shop, which includes homemade popsicles, delectable looking cakes, espresso, bar, and many different flavors of gelato. read more

We were visiting from out of town. Family told us about this new spot. The place looks good, very open. The seating could be improved. Doesn't accommodate big groups. Service? Not great. Even if there is a language barrier it doesn't cost a thing to smile & be patient. Food. Terrible. Hubs & I got meals. What a joke-the portions were so small. I got a taco & a side of corn the corn was about an inch long. The chicken on the tacos was not cut up it was a slice of dry tasteless chicken breast. The charro beans. No. It was white beans-about 8 beans to be exact in a bowl of flavorless broth. Salsa? Oh no it looked as if they blended tomatoes & added no seasoning! We got guacamole. Which we had to add lime & seasoning to. They give you a small cup of chips. 90% of our chips were smashed into tiny pieces. When i went to the counter to get more, the girl acted annoyed! The only thing good about this place was the gelato. The young man working over there was the only pleasant employee we encountered. The gelato had a good taste. The food is amazing. The service is stellar. The vibe of the restaurant is super chill. I am absolutely in love with the pozole and all the salsa options. Their sides are actually good and obviously cooked with care and attention to detail and not reheated or just some warmed up canned food. I am so glad that they're open and close to my job. I'm surrounded by awful fast food, and they are a welcomed change. The queso is the only queso I've had that stayed warm and the perfect consistency even through traveling from the restaurant to the house! read more

Best street tacos in the 501, period. Great selection of authentic street tacos, many of which I've tried and loved. Crazy good service, and if any of the employees don't like working there, they don't show it. Full toppings/salsa bar so you can add what you'd like to the protein. Ordered 1 Suadero Taco and the Mexican Torta. Normally for street tacos, most places double the corn tortilla, here was a single one and it broke apart. Meat was cold. And you had to put the toppings (onion & cilantro) on yourself. I asked the staff behind the front counter if they had little cups/containers to try their different hot salsas but the gentleman said they only provide them for to-go orders. They expect everyone to laiddle salsa which customers have never tried onto their food and possibly ruin it if the salsa is too hot for the customer tastebuds?? So I laiddled each one onto the serving tray my taco came on, so that I could 'dip' my taco into to try which salsa I liked best before adding it on top of my taco. The Torta, is actually a Melt. Nothing but melted cheese and meat. No refried beans, no, mayo, lettuce, or tomatoes, no avocado. The bread itself was simply cut open lengthwise not grilled or toasted. Easily the worst 'Torta' I've ever had! My torta wasn't completely cut in half, so I went back to the counter and asked for a knife and fork, and the staff guy simply pointed back towards the register! Drink options are limited to Coke products and another area that was preparing mixed drinks I presumed but what and how to order was not clear. There is a condiment area with salsa and sauces of different heat intensity. However, as with alot of places now, when you place your order they ask if you'd like to leave a tip before receiving any service. Placed my order at the counter, poured my drinks and picked my order up from the counter. Overall an ok experience, but no hurry to return. read more
