Bison burrito.... 10/10! Came back twice in one month, did not order a thing that I would not recommend. The tacos, street corn dip, and the churros. Yum. Had the Pomfoolery cocktail. Probably the best combination of food/drinks, service and atmosphere in the city if you're in the mood for Mexican food. Best margarita in the city? Check. Outstanding weekend brunch? Check. The food was good but the nearly two hour wait was not. Whomever is responsible for seating a party of ten needs better training. We patiently waited outside for almost two hours when we were originally told wait time was 45 minutes. We asked for a split table AFTER waiting nearly two hours and waited even longer. We were happy to do a split table but it was not offered to us. They kept telling us that they were waiting for a group of five to leave so they could seat us at that table. That group was there before we arrived and we left before that group left. Zero apology from staff. Had it not been one of us repeatedly asking to be seated together or apart, we would have waited even longer. We watched group after group seated and asked to be seated even if it was split tables. We came around 12pm on a Saturday and there was still a good amount of open seats either indoors or outside in the covered area. We had a nice waitress and the atmosphere was very nice, I enjoyed the theme decoration inside. We had the smoked salmon dip appetizer which was wonderful and I got the Birria burrito and my mom got the Migas entree. I would recommend especially for a night out with friends or date night, they have so many drink options and they are not shy with the alcohol! Had truly bad food and weird service here on 3/13. Host/runners/servers were nearly sprinting through the restaurant, almost like they were in a hurry to be done for the night, my margarita came out literally immediately after ordering it with melted ice, and the bean and cheese burrito was baaaad. It tasted of burnt oil and was literally cold to the touch. Not to mention, I ordered a side of guac that could not at all pass for fresh. Not surprised the food was cold however given the fact that all the doors and windows were open at it was reeeaaally cold outside and inside. Guests were wearing windbreakers at their tables. One of my favorite places to grab queso! It has just a hint of heat. On this visit was brunch. I got chorizo hash and my mate got the steak burrito. We enjoyed both so much. The great thing about this place is the seating options. The bar gives a cute vibe. There's out door covered seating and also the huge garage doors they let up during mild weather. Our first time to the Fold. The food and drinks were standard fare. Honestly nothing to rave about but not bad either. Service was attentive. Our biggest gripe: Others have noted how it's changed prices and is now more expensive. As outsiders from Atlanta, it certainly seemed very pricey and more importantly, not very transparent. Their menu states they have a three taco plate with rice and beans but there is no price listed so when two of us ordered that they charged a la carte for each item, including the rice and the beans. Another person ordered a salad for $15- where you specify the protein of choice, unaware that on a separate menu page it specifies that each protein is an additional $5, etc. So in the end, we spent as much on some of the entrees as the fine dining restaurant we went to in the Heights the night prior. That's nuts for a taco shop. Our tacos in Atlanta cost $3-$4 each and here they are $5-$6. And apparently they aren't using locally sourced produce or pasture raised meats. So, buyer beware. read more

I was excited to cross another Triple D restaurant off of my list. The Fold has a very diverse menu, and the food tastes like it is freshly prepared. There are many pluses to this location, one being a dog friendly outdoor seating area. However, I expected more from the service of such a highly rated establishment. I often feel that because I am not ordering a lot of cocktails, we are moved down on the importance of service. I may visit again if I'm in the area, hopefully I'll have a better service experience since the food is delicious. read more

We ordered a few different tacos and were able to find some in the mix that we loved and would order during our return visit. They don't short you on the taco fillings. I could have used a second tortilla to keep the thing from falling apart, or perhaps I just need some practice at using the square of foil that accompanies each taco to prevent this. We loved each one, but the chips were stale. The tacos were okay. I got the steak fajita and carnitas. They needed more. Some fun sauce or more cheese, something. Just not enough flavor. The bison bowl was pretty good, a little on the spicy side. But really good flavor. The side of rice wasn't cooked all the way. The couple we went with said it was inedible. this restaurant does not serve authentic mexican food, but the flavor was for sure 10/10. i absolutely loved this place! i stumbled across this restaurant while searching on yelp and i'm not disappointed what so ever. the atmosphere, decoration and service were 10/10. i did sit at the bar, and the bar tender was always within close reach. i was so shocked at how fast the food came out! literally within 10 mins of ordering. all of the servers were very attentive, not just the bartender. I ended up going with the queso dip as an appetizer and the steak burrito as my entree, for which i requested a side of red sauce on top. the steak burrito did not disappoint at all, they were not stingy with the meat and i couldn't finish the whole thing, although the tortillas were a little on the salty side. read more

Stopped by here after driving in from Memphis and wanted to try the drinks and tacos. Overall the place is very nice and ambiance is perfect when the weather is nice out. The outdoor area is amazing. Food wise, it was underwhelming. Habanero queso 2.5/5 It needed salt in my opinion and for it boasting habanero in the name, you'd expect some spice. The chips were good and crispy but also needed salt. (And it's super weird to have to pay for chips and salsa for $5, I guess that's weird to me cause I'm from Houston) Bison burrito 2/5 I'm not really sure how to describe it but the red sauce outside (I'm assuming their ranchero sauce) tasted a lot like tomato sauce with a some chili powder flavor. I thought it made the tortilla soggy especially after they grilled it. There was also a lot of cheese left on the edges, which to me was the yummiest part. Like a surprise small cheese quesadilla at the end! I think the black beans overpowered the bison. Couldn't tell the difference between ground bison to ground beef in this burrito. Mrs Green taco 2/5 Same as bison burrito, the beans overpowered. Probably would've tasted better with the refried black beans and fresh avocado with more cilantro and lime. Just tasted like a generic fast food taco. All I could taste was the lettuce. Also lacked spice and acidity. Pastor 3/5 This is more like carnitas in my opinion. Very porky flavor. I added a pic, it's definitely not pastor. I also received 2 tiny pieces of pineapple in the taco. Definitely not pastor. But would've been a solid carnitas taco, just needed a wedge of lime. Sweet potato and kale taco 4.5/5 Wow. This was what I was looking for in a place with this ambiance and vibe. I could tell they cater to vegetarian and vegan so I was excited to try this combo. Whatever they spice they added to the potatoes was really complemented by the salt roasted kale and the sweetness of the walnuts. And they also sprinkled it with a chili crema I believe. It didn't need it, this taco is legit. I should've ordered three of these! Refried black beans 4/5 This was very good. Seasoned well and had enough spice level. Drinks were good. I had the Gin and my husband had the Rita. I would not come back but glad we got to try. I have been here a few times but just cannot seem to really like the food. First time tacos were just tacos. Nothing spectacular. Next time tamales, flavorless and way too much masa. Burritos are huge but taste again is flat. But since the restaurant is close to home- It's convenient. The margaritas are great and the salsa and cheese dip is good. Other than that, food is mediocre at best. Service is fine, I like the bar tenders. It's not a lot of room to sit and enjoy unless you want under the tent but that's only nice when weather permits. Overall I'd probably return for the drinks, salsa, and dip! read more

It only took 6 months in the city to find The Fold. It was 6 months too long! This spot is bright and welcoming when you walk in. Each time we come we have a seat at the bar, but there are even seats in their sun room, which is dog friendly! We have had both the queso and the guacamole. I would always choose the queso over the guac (it was kind of bland). I've also enjoyed the taco salad, the buffalo burrito and the tacos. All 3 options were so good! If we open with the queso, I think the tacos are the go-to for size and price. Most importantly, always choose the margarita! Right now, I am absolutely loving the spiced pear one. The jalapeno is also amazing, but since the pear is limited time I'm soaking it in. I will admit that I got a brunch cocktail last time, which said it was a cold brew cocktail... it was hot coffee? Your hard work is truly appreciated! Now back to the review: The tacos, nachos, and margaritas are always calling my name here! The tacos are filling and flavorful. I suggest getting the taco plate. Better bang for your buck. My absolute FAVS...The diablo (shrimp) and tejas (steak) tacos, the nachos no protein or with shrimp, and this place has some of the best queso I've ever eaten! No seriously. It's so good! I also enjoy their street corn dip on those hot summer days. Not to mention their blood orange margaritas are legendary. I found myself grabbing their margarita kits (only classic, spicy jalapeno, and a seasonal flavor NOT blood orange are available) to go on several occasions. They have perfected an amazing margarita mix and it shows. It's perfect for an at home taco night! The atmosphere here is just as cool. What a gem! So it's just mother taco bar right.......nope! We've been wanting to try this place out and so glad we did. This place was amazing. Music was a little loud but whatever, we can yell at each other for modern Mexican done right. And Rob wasn't only surprised about the pictures, he apparently thinks the queso dip is the best he has ever had in his life and my family agreed. I had the vegan tacos and really surprised they we as good as they were. I'll take better pictures of the actual dishes next time we go. Oh boy, hate to be that guy but I had a very poor experience here! Gave two stars instead of one because the Bartender was very friendly. I'll be honest, we had brunch reservations down the street but came here for a drink while waiting to check it out. I ordered the Mexican coffee which I was really excited about, I loved all the components. Except was disappointed when the coffee came out and it was just lukewarm which quickly got cold. Also the charred marshmallow on top was cute but after sitting in the coffee the burnt exterior flaked off and when I was drinking it tasted like paper. Flecks of black paper floating around. I also had a water but my glass was dirty with lipstick on it. I had to send it back. Then because I felt bad sitting at the bar and not ordering much we decided to try the chips and queso. The queso was very bland, not much flavor. Overall got the impression that this place was dirty and the food and drinks was mediocre. read more
