    Quesabirria
    Mark F.

These guys (and gals) make THE BEST quesabirria I have ever eaten! You have got to give them a try! What's better is there mobile location near the take in friendly breweries and wineries of the west side! An "order" of quesabirria comes with 3 tacos and a cup of consume for dipping. The consume is perfectly skimmed and has no floating grease and the flavor is incredible! Don't forget the napkins though as this is a messy meal! The burrobirria is a burrito version of this trendy classic that is huge and super tasty. The giant flour tortilla is cooked super crispy with cheese on the inside. It's really good! There are other goodies I haven't tried yet but they are on my list like the birria ramen, the double queso quesabirria, and they also have other meat choices that I'm sure do not disappoint! Check these guys out!

Solid taco truck. There were a couple food options in the vicinity but I decided to go with Tacos El Chuy. Since I wasn't too hungry, I ordered just two tacos: the Birria Taco and Al Pastor Taco. There is a self-order kiosk in front of the taco truck. They will call your order once it's ready and you can add the sauce onto your tacos at the sauce station. I enjoyed both of the tacos, the meat was nicely cooked and the flavors were good.

Glad I read the reviews and got the quesabirria. It was rich and earthy served with a flavorful broth. It did take longer than I expected but it was delicious and worth the wait!

    Burrito

Don't eat here if your brown! Burrito had no flavor and the salsa was very watery! My burrito was $14 and my friend couldn't finish his. Seen lots of ppl of European descent like it though.

    Tacos Birria. Oh em gawd.

WowaWooWiiieeee!! I knew this place was gonna be great! Okay, I didn't know, but I trusted my Fat Gut, and when there's food involved, he's usually right. Except when it isn't. Also! I just wanted a couple of the Birria Tacos cuz I had been busy stuffing my face with other sweeties from the other restaurants in the little Plaza. It was the perfect amount of food and an unreasonable amount of flavour and awesomeness. Probably gonna have to come back here literally every single time I go to Santa Cruz. M'lady got the Birria Ramen. Holy F*** Butts! This was AMAZEBALLZZZ! With THREE Z'S BABY!! I can literally not believe it was so good. Gotta eat it quickly though, cuz the noodles get all soggy and whatnot if you wait too long. Or if you've been in the bathroom regretting the Birria Tacos... ;) HEYO! No ragrets.

One of three Quesabirria tacos in my order.

Excellent Quesabirria tacos at a reasonable price!! Pairs well with Santa Cruz Brewing beers a few steps away (and allows outside food).

    Birria tacos

This taco truck has some bomb tacos!!! I got 5 birria street style tacos & a burrito & they brought my food out fairly quick! They also have an ordering machine that lets you pay with card which is super convenient! Definitely recommend this place for tacos, I enjoyed them down the beach they were amazing, I will be coming here again :)

1 of the 3 quesabirrias in the order. Salsas are delicious as well as the consome.

I called in for a order of quesabirrias, Chuy answered quickly and confirmed the order for pickup. I arrived and he was super friendly. He handed me a few cups for salsas and the taste journey began. The salsas were alll super tasty. Not too spicy, and packed with flavor. The consome was nice and hot, perfect for dipping your quesabirrias into. Thank you Chuy! -Jose

While the poke was the star, their take on the loco moco burrito was disappointing. The eggs were scrambled so we ended up preferring adding ketchup rather than the gravy over the breakfast burrito. A+ for creativity but a miss for us. There were lots of parking in the back lot and a pretty cool mural. I think they put a lot of thought to the ambiance of the place. You order and pay near the entrance and get a table number. Food came out quickly but other than that, service was minimal. Also, even though we were the first ones there at opening, the tables still had crumbs and streaks on them. Not sure why. And the entrance was locked despite the open sign lit up. We went around to another open door to ask if they were open and they said yes. They didn't realize the door was still locked.

On the way back home we stopped by this little Taqueria restaurant. There's no parking spaces here, we parked over the bank since it's on Sunday, empty. The restaurant is clean, the salsa bar is right there with all the great stuff, the amazing thing is the chips all you can eat are there too. The chips and salsa here are the best anywhere, even better than Mexico or Cancun. So crispy, light, and the pico de gallo is excellent and fresh. I had the fish tacos, plentiful but a little surprised since the fish is not fried as all the places I've been, it's sauteed or steemed, no vegetables like shredded cabbage or anything, just lots of fish chunks and soft taco shell. Anyhow, it's fresh and delicious. Our other members ordered beef, pork tacos and they're so mouth watering too. There are so many young people like students coming to this place, so crowded and lucky we got the table to finish our foods quickly so others can sit. I tried the rice drink and it's like rice water and sugar, it's good but extremely sweet. This is the place I will visit after a long hiking day, it's wonderful and I love the chips and salsa here.

It was a chicken burrito with refried beans, no rice & carne asada fries. He also threw my receipt at me. I get it if you under pressure, but never take it out on a paying customer because you can't work well under pressure. He left a bad taste in my mouth with his bad attitude. I will not be coming back. Be kind to your customers especially i was trying to help you. Lol. The meat was overly cooked. The burrito still had rice in it. Fries were very oily. I still tipped him, even though he didn't deserve any of it. Bad service. Bad attitude.

My husband ordered the Fish and Chips and they were perfect, crispy on the outside, flaky and moist inside, easily a 10/10. I got the third‑pound cheeseburger with bacon and avocado on the side, and it was also delicious. What really made the visit memorable was the service. Right at the start, my husband let Nathan know that we both have an allium intolerance and garlic allergies. Nathan was upfront about the limitations of a small kitchen and the fact that they can't guarantee anything, which we appreciated. But he still went out of his way to check on things for us. He even came back to let my husband know the tartar sauce had yellow onion in it so he could choose something else. It was clear they were paying attention. Nathan was friendly, patient, and genuinely thoughtful. Dining out with allergies can be stressful, but he made it feel easy and comfortable. We also watched another waitress run after a family who had forgotten a sippy cup; just another example of how attentive the staff is. Overall, the food was great, but the service is what will bring us back.

After not being able to get in at a few other spots, this place didn't have a wait time. Let me get this out of the way first. Service was *excellent.* The interior of the restaurant almost looked like an old church with its arched ceilings and tiled floors. It lent to a very old Mexican Pueblo Town Vibe inside. The outdoor patio (after seeing it) almost made me wish we sat outside after seeing how bright it was out there. It was very dark inside compared to how it was in the patio area. So why the 3.5 stars? The food. Coming from East Side San Jose where Mexican food is plentiful and done well, I can't say that this place came close. The chicken inside the taquitos were so dry inside that I kept wondering if it was shredded chicken that sat out for a long period of time because the juice was sucked out of it. Now let's move onto the beans. I love me some refried beans and these tasted bland. I was so disappointed. The rice was good however I've had better. As for the Asado Rollos which were described to us as a chimichanga that is sliced up, I was also left wanting for more. Taste wise it was lacking. It had all the fillings in there but after having one slice, I was done. There was one thing that was the star of the show here. It was the complimentary chips and salsa which was refilled several times by the staff. These were addicting and probably could have just had these on their own.
