Came back here again because I wanted to try the Chai overnight oats. They were just okay, not a lot of chai flavor and they weren't really sweet. The main flavor came from the cashew and date toppings. We also ordered their breakfast burrito which wasn't all that good either. Also something to note, from what I can tell their items like the breakfast burritos are premade which I wasn't really a huge fan of. I can't speak for their specialty coffees but I don't think I would come back here for the food. There is also a little bit of a limited seating for indoors, but a good amount of seating outside. I love how attentive and knowledgeable the baristas are and how they'll come and check up on me when I'm enjoying my coffee and breakfast burrito. The macchiato was prepared really well, and I love a good latte art! I'm also typically pretty skeptical about ordering food from a coffee shop, but their breakfast burrito is so satisfying. Crispy bacon and potatoes with the perfect ratio of eggs with their salsa verde. Yummy! If you brew coffee at home, their beans are super fresh. She made my drink wrong twice, I said I'm so sorry I didn't want sweetener, and then she poured in whole milk after I said oatmilk. I know it was very loud bc it's a Saturday & she probably misheard me it's totally no big deal but then she made a nasty face at me and started ignoring me on purpose bc she was upset she had to remake my drink again. I smelled the coffee as a dad was tossing half of his cup behind a dumpster at the beach. I didn't say hello, or excuse me. I just said "where is that coffee from?" Cat and Cloud, he told me. Just around the corner. Around the corner location closed at 3 pm, but not to be deterred, I found my way to the downtown location. Nestled in a lively food court type hub, with live music playing outside, it felt great to have discovered a new place. Coffee here is as excellent as it smells. I could have gotten a latte. Or their 1 and 1 if I really wanted to taste the foundation of their beans. But no, I splurged for a mint mocha because mint was the moment, I effused to the barista. Loveee cat and cloud! Visiting Santa Cruz and always stop for a hot or iced chai depending on the weather. My boyfriend and I tried this on our first trip together a few years back and have loved it ever since. Finally getting around the reviewing it and happy to say it's consistently good. The service is super friendly and they have a nice assortment of pastries. Prices are normal for coffee in the area and it's inside of a food court kind of building with other restaurants in it. Super chill in the morning with barely anyone inside or outside as far as seating goes and parking can be a little scarce depending on the day of the week but there's free parking and paid parking options. read more

There are some pastries made by another bakery, and even though the selection looks small, there are good options from which to choose: tasty lemon loaf slices, pumpkin seed muffins, blueberry muffins, croissants, and pains au chocolate. The baristas are friendly and cool. The seating area is not the best ambiance when the other businesses are closed because the seating area seems dark. I imagine that when the other businesses are open, it feels more lively but also more like a food court or fancy cafeteria. read more

Cat & Cloud is worth the hype! I made a stop here on a Thursday afternoon, when it wasn't busy at all. This location was inside a little food hall, which had both indoor and outdoor seating. They had a few craft beverages that sounded incredible, and I went with the Blackberry Sage Espresso Tonic. This was so well-made - both strong and refreshing at the same time! I don't always love sparkling coffee drinks, but they really pulled it off with this one. The girls at the counter were super friendly, and my partner liked his Dirty Chai Latte. Love this place. I come here to Abbot Square to work on homework usually. They have an array of foods, and great coffee here at Cat & Cloud. The staff is always sweet and patient. Their pastries are delicious and *I think* locally sourced. It can be a little busy and noisy inside for seating but still plenty of space and outside has heaters! Walk up those steps. It's located inside of a shop that has multiple restaurants in it on the right side of the sushi restaurant. I wish I had read this somewhere during my mission to find this place. It took a lot of walking back and forth and definitely walked past it twice before realizing where it was. Very friendly and quick service! The price is also good! I wish the menu was a bit bigger since I didn't get what I originally came for (I looked at Yelp picture menus for items that no longer exists; that was a huge bummer). read more

Cat & Cloud is a cute coffee spot. Very modern and a feel good spot to just grab coffee and hang out. The workers were very sweet and super helpful. The reason for the 4 stars is I had an iced chai latte and I wasn't a fan of it. It was super sweet and didn't have much of a chai flavor. The cashier did mention it was on the sweet side but I overlooked how sweet she really meant. However, my cousin had a coffee that was very balanced on cream and sweetness and my boyfriend ordered a cold brew with cream and sugar that was also really good. Overall a cute hangout spot! The creamy beige was something that I've never had before. Extra creamy but super light at the same time and highly recommend. it's not a full blown coffee shop since this one is in a food court style venue with other restaurants surrounding it making it a good place to have food as well if you want options. We were offered great service by raven. You can tell the staff is passionate and proud of their jobs and it's proven by the great tase of the coffee. Thanks guys, will be back! read more

My friends and I were going through all the receipts after her 1 week vacation so we can pay each other back correctly. However, when we were splitting up the bill from Cat & Cloud, we realized that our drinks were rung up for to go (though we answered "for here" when asked). So it wasn't like they accidentally made our drinks to go - they already charged the cup fees and weren't going to make them for here to begin with! I find that really shady. Furthermore, we split the bill 3 ways with our own drinks + cup fee + tax + tips and somehow it added up to $16.36 - but I was charged $17.36. What was $1 and why wasn't it listed? Again, shady. I understand that $1.75 isn't a big deal, but it's $1.75 that I wasn't even aware of! The entire experience wasn't great to begin with and it just gets worse and worse. I emailed their customer service a few days ago but have yet to hear back. read more

Cat & Cloud sits in a Santa Cruz neighborhood that was once home to the Wrigley Spearmint Gum factory, built in 1954. Today, that same site has been reinvented as the Old Wrigley Building, a vibrant creative and entrepreneurial hub that reflects the spirit of reinvention Santa Cruz is so good at. This is now my favorite cafe in Santa Cruz. Great drinks, nice staff, dedicated parking... What more can you ask for? Actually, I haven't had an espresso here in a long time. I think they do a medium roast. I prefer a dark roast. In any case, I really like this place. I ordered a large chai latte with almond milk. It was practically perfect. Either the chai is made by them or some local company. I'm not sure. I liked it because it was about half as sweet as the chai at Starbuck's or Peet's. Also, the foam on top was perfect and it was sprinkled with some cinnamon. Yum. My daughter also really enjoyed her peach iced tea. I always know when it's good if she wants me to try it. Nice little cafe next to other cafes/restaurants in downtown. They have tables and chairs for everyone dining in their cafe or any of the other cafes next to them. There's a restroom at the back, but you have to get the code from them. So, I came here to grab an avocado toast. Saw tons of people go to their other location near the beach, so went to check this out and it didn't disappoint! Luckily this location is in a downtown food hall, so it stays open later than the other locations (which close at 3pm). Ordered the iced vanilla latte and hot chai. The iced vanilla latte was good, smooth and with a hint of vanilla. The hot chai was amazing though! It was so warm with the right amount of spice. Service was quick and staff were so friendly. There's lots of seating here since it's in a food hall. For parking, you may have to find a paid parking garage unless you luck out with street parking. read more

I love Cat & Cloud. I have visited other locations but was the first time visiting this downtown location. We stopped by to pick up some coffee & food on the way to the boardwalk. There is metered street parking & a nearby lot. This location is indoors shared with other food places. They do have a limited food menu that differs from the other locations. We had to get the other C&C Breakfast Burrito since the other Breakfast Burrito is one of my favs. Despite eating it on the beach, it was still hot! it tasted delicious & the tortilla had a nice crunch to it. I just wish they gave more green sauce. We had ordered a vanilla latte & a mocha & those were both creamy & perfect too. Their baristas were so nice to talk to as well. I wasn't sure what to get so I asked the staff what they recommend for sweet drinks, I ended up getting a vanilla ice latte and it was so good!! Perfect amount of sweetness and it's nice they can make it decaf too. It was a little pricier (almost $7) than I hoped. Also I wish that was on the menu too since the menu seems super limited so I'm not sure if you actually do just have to ask what other drinks they have.
