    Gyro Salad
    Glen S.

Spotted this place one evening and figured I'd give it a shot. Plenty of parking but there is a drive thru and take out in addition to indoor seating. I was greeted as soon as I came in the dining area was not busy but the drive thru and take was. I got the Gyro Salad and a drink for $13. Or came with a large warm pita. The sauce was good and the salad seemed to be fresh. The feta cheese was tasty and the gyro meat was cooked well with a little crust which I liked. The menu has variety from gyros to hot dogs to chicken. Seemed like a good value place for a family. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean overall. I would recommend Opa if your looking for a quick meal and tired of the chain restaurants.

Best gyro I've had, even the fries are good. Very big servings as well, I hope they have one in Omaha where I live.

The restaurant is decorated well and the ambiance is chic without being snooty. Our waitress, Katie, was attentive, friendly, and professional. The food, you ask? Well, my husband had the dinner special - chimichurri surf and turf. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and the shrimp was succulent. The asparagus was cooked just as he loves - tender-crisp. I had the "clobster" with homemade chips. Now for those of you who are like me and have eaten lobster rolls in the New England area, Pacific Nortwest, and worldwide coastal areas, this is NOT served cold! I was extremely surprised when I bit in and warmth permeated my mouth! It was delicious but as happens with warm juices, the toasted bun, alas, turned soggy. And a few chips were underdone...the ones cooked well were tasty and crisp. We both shared the chocolate pie and it was rich and satisfying. So, if you find yourself on the Historic 4th, go ahead and take that chance and sup there...you won't regret it!

I would go back for the Korean BBQ steak, the flavor was sooo good. My side of mashed sweet potatoes was reminiscent of a sweet potato soufflé, which I love. The pad Thai was very tasty but different flavor from pad Thai I've had at Thai restaurants. We were very happy with our meal, 4 stars because the pad Thai was a 3/5 to me.

My husband and I have been frequent flyers at the South Sioux Don'$ location. We're very excited…read morethey've been able to expand. I'm going to try and not make this review a comparison between the two. The location isn't the easiest to get to, but parking is ample. It's also connected to a family fun center and a bowling alley. Right across the lot is the city's minor-minor-minor (I don't know the official term) baseball league home. It's all next to an ice rink that is used for sports and recreation. It's a great family-friendly area of Sioux City. Food is the same as the SSC location which is wonderful. They have the BEST burgers in town. I also LOVE their fries. The only thing not making these restaurants my favorites is the ranch dressing. They just use generic, bottled ranch. It's not good. I'd kill if they made actual 'restaurant' ranch. I've literally brought in my own ramekin of ranch when I'm craving a meal I usually eat with it. BUT, the brown gravy and queso are to die for. It would be a part of my last meal. Staff is great. This area has a smaller bar than the SSC area, but the bartenders whip up everything the same. I don't drink, but they're down for their margaritas. This place is kinda like a locally-owned Chilis, but with better food. A great place for even a couple drinks and some poutine.
