We ordered the Quesabirria and asked for a recommendation for someone who doesn't eat beef, and ended up going with their suggestion, the Del Jefe Torta. Both were delicious! I love that the cheese on the torta was not overly cheesy, it was just right for me. The torta had zero spice until I slathered the hot sauce on it, and I appreciate that ability to customize it. This two items are the sole reason why I drive 35 minutes all the way from Scottsdale! It's so hard to find good authentic Mexican food in the valley, but this small "hole in the wall" establishment definitely makes my drive and wait so worth it! Had the Del Jefe torta and a carne asada burrito. Both were delicious. The torta did not hold up that well as a to-go item because the bun fell apart. Ate half and put the other half in the fridge. About an hour later it was great! Cold food is awesome and the sandwich then held together. The burrito is quite big and had great flavor. Both salsas were tasty. The food here has been absolutely amazing I recommend getting the loaded fries with half carne asada and half Al pastor. The burrito bowl is also amazing the cilantro rice is an amazing touch. Tried this new spot in the area and it did not disappoint! We ordered a mix of burritos and tacos. The asada burrito was really solid--good portion, tender meat, and the salsa was so good. Not overly spicy, but had just the right kick. I was a little surprised it had white rice instead of Mexican rice, but it still worked and didn't take away from the flavor. Excellent place to eat tortas if you're looking for the Mexico City style. I talked to the chef and he mentioned they only use high quality beef for the asada. I had the asada torta the first day I went and the meat was very tender. Eating there reminded me of my childhood when we would go to eat Tortas de asada. Service was fast and the team was very friendly. The restaurant is small but welcoming to everyone. I will definitely be back. I actually went back the next day with my dad and tried the Al pastor.
