Unfortunately, this restaurant was neither delicious nor what we would consider authentic. We stopped in for lunch today around 12:30 after a local store owner recommended that we give it a try. The patio is nice, the music selection was good, and our waitress was pleasant, although she appeared to be overwhelmed. We started with chips and salsa. The chips were crispy and pretty good, although extremely salty. The salsa that came with them was very spicy, so we asked for something mild. The mild salsa was actually very good. My mom and aunt each had a glass of Chardonnay and said it was good. Unfortunately, the entrees were a major disappointment. My mom and aunt ordered the mahi mahi tacos. The fish was completely dry and overcooked to the point that it was inedible, so they had to send it back. The rice that accompanied the tacos looked and tasted like Rice-A-Roni, and after two bites, they left it untouched. They ordered a chicken burrito as a replacement, but unfortunately, the chicken was also overcooked and inedible. I ordered the elote appetizer and specifically requested no cilantro. The corn appeared to be a frozen corn cob rather than fresh corn, and it was burnt and covered in cilantro. Since I had specifically asked for no cilantro, I couldn't eat it and set it aside. I also ordered the quesabirria tacos and, once again, they were loaded with cilantro. The waitress had noted my request for no cilantro on everything, so it seemed the chef simply missed the instruction. I sent the tacos back and waited about 15 minutes for a replacement. The beans were actually pretty good, so I ate about half of those, but I didn't touch the rice. When the replacement quesabirria taco arrived, I took one bite and found it contained large chunks of onion, which I found very off-putting. At that point, I pushed the plate aside and didn't eat any more. We eventually asked for the bill, thanked our server, and left disappointed. All told, we spent over $90 plus a $20 tip, and unfortunately, very little of what we ordered was enjoyable. I don't blame our server entirely, as she was pleasant and did try to accommodate our requests, but the service could use some polishing and the food needs a major overhaul. Most disappointing of all, what should have been a simple lunch turned into a two-plus-hour experience. We really wanted to like this place and were happy to support a local restaurant, but based on our experience today, we won't be returning.
