Hands down some of the best house smoked brisket I've had. High quality meat. The smokieness of the meat and spice blended just right with the chipotle creama. When chips and salsa are served and they are absolutely delicious, I know I'm in for a great meal. The chips were fresh and perfectly salted and the salsa, oh my, some of the best I've had! I ordered the smoky meat tacos with the brisket meat and although slightly heavy on the liquid smoke, they were so good and I can't wait to come back to eat them again! I seriously miss the bistro that was in this location last year. Rosa's was the quite the disappointment on our yearly trip to Sutter Creek. Six of us made prior reservations for a 6 pm dinner on a Saturday night. They may have been busy and short staffed, but even the food was disappointing. It took a good 15 minutes to have a drink order taken and then a half hour plus to get the drinks. The up charged margaritas didn't taste any different from the regular ones considering the extra price paid. The food took over an hour to get. None of the dishes were all that fancy, that long to get a few plates of tacos and a couple burritos. Then none of the plates seem to have any flavor. It's Mexican food, where was the seasoning? It even lacked salt. I doubt the group will return in the future. If you do stop in to try it, I recommend sitting outside on the covered patio instead of inside. More room outside and less noise. While I was visiting my aunt over the weekend she took me here to have some drinks. She was raving about how well they were made so I couldn't resist the offer to stop in. It is a cute restaurant tucked away in the alley that I would have never know was there. We were greeted right away and had the option of sitting outside or in. Since it was a nice day we decided to sit outside. After we were sat we were given chips and salsa. I liked that their salsa was runny and the chips tasted fresh. Our server was Scott and he gave us the best service. I wasn't sure what drink to get for my little and asked about their sparkling apple juice. He was honest that he hadn't tried it but after we received it he circled back around to ask how it was. My aunt ordered a margarita and I ordered a mojito. I was very impressed the mojito was not too sweet, sour or had too much alcohol. If I didn't have to drive I would have had more. We shared the churro doughnuts and they were a little gooier than I expected however they were still good. We had already had dinner otherwise I would have tried their food. From what I could see around us everything looked yummy and was decently portioned. Next time I'm in the area to visit my aunt I will have her take me there and try the food. read more

My husband and I came in for lunch on Saturday and we were seated inside. There are some tables outside on the patio as well. Our server was not very friendly and acted like she was always in a hurry so we felt rushed and a little uncomfortable. I ordered the chicken taquitos which after I started to eat, I realized that something on the plate was not right. It had a weird smell and it did not taste right. I stopped eating and when the server asked me how it was I told her and she removed the plate from the table. She did not offer to get me anything else so I did not get to eat lunch. She did however remove it from the bill which I appreciated. My husband had the fish tacos but they added cheese to the tortillas when frying them which gave them a weird texture. I've been here previously and wanted to share the food with friends. Unfortunately on June 28, 2025 about 1:30pm, the bartender was extremely rude. He should not be in food service or any customer service job. We walked in and a nice young lady greeted us and said it would be a wait because they were busy. Not a problem, we were willing to wait until, the bartender also chimed in with an unfriendly tone and blurted out "We're busy, the wait is 45 minutes to an hour if you want a table, it's going to take a long time to get your food AND I am not going to be rushed". Because I've been to Sutter Creek many times, I knew of Hotel Sutter Restaurant up the alley on the main street so I walked up there to see if we could get on a list for a table. Their staff was very friendly and accommodating so I called my friends and told them to walk over. Sorry but your restaurant lost out on a nice bill of about $500 after cocktails, appetizers and entrees! Better luck next time - oh wait, we're not coming back! read more

My husband and I have been going here since they opened. I'm sorry to say that we may not go back. Not because of the food, which is usually good to very good (let's be honest, there's room improvement on consistency). It's because of the service. If you go and they have a group on the patio be prepared to be totally ignored. Clearly, they haven't figured out that you need to STAFF UP for groups. Our last visit there was a group on the patio but plenty of seating inside, however, no one available to serve those inside. This is the second time this has happened. My husband and I visited Rosa's Cocina on a Wednesday. It wasn't crowded, but we weren't the only ones there. We chose the outdoor seating which wasn't too hot even though it was in the 90s. The atmosphere on the patio hadn't changed since I was last there when it was Susan's Place. The perfect covered patio feel. As to the food it's BURSTING with flavor. The rice was the most flavorful I've ever had- very lime-y. Not your typical Spanish rice. I will say their salsas and sauces were spicier than what I'm used to. I like spicy and can handle some heat so it was a nice change for me, but I personally have friends who would've have a harder time with it. I got the enchiladas with salsa verde (the less spicy of the two sauce options), and my husband got the burrito. Both were amazing and I liked that there were 3 enchiladas. You don't get bottomless chips, though. If I brought my kids here, that'd be a problem as you only get one basket for free. read more

This was a really fun atmosphere with really good service. That's the main reason for the 4 stars. The food was ok. Steak in fajita not cut at all and was hard to cut into strips. Well let's start from the beginning... it was a hassle trying to get a table for 6 because the girls didn't want to put two tables together so I asked if we could and was told sure with an attitude, Then without introducing herself she stood at the end of the table waiting for someone to acknowledge her for the drink order... which she got three wrong and someone else corrected. Food was good and priced well. Our waitress never came back to check or refill drinks. After I paid the bill a few friends showed up and we ordered another round and this girl had the balls to ask why I only tipped 5% on a $200 tab..... I looked at her, pointed to the $50 cash on the table and said well it looks like you're only getting that 5% hopefully you learned your lesson and put the cash back in my pocket. Our bill was $200 I never tip the full amount on my card. The food and drinks were good but the owners should have a conversation with their staff about calling out customers on tips. We visit Sutter creek often but not sure if we will return to Rosa's if the staff acts like this. read more

Hola! What a great new place this is in downtown Sutter Creek! We've been to Sutter Creek many times now and Rosa's is certainly a welcome addition to the dining choices. My wife and I always appreciate Mexican food and we actually went to Rosa's on back-to-back nights. I had the same thing, pork belly tacos, just to ensure consistency, and they certainly were! Delicious food and the service was good, despite the second night watching our server cover multiple tables and locations. She did a great job and we made sure she knew it. It has a cool vibe, which is a bit hard to get since Sutter Creek is more of a sleepy town versus an all-nighter. Kudos to the excellent food choices, drinks, and overall ambiance! We will be back!
