Front of Foodtruck Wow, very good tacos and the Chile verde burrito was delicious. Very good value too! Will definitely be back.

Consider La Esperanza a very reliable option for fast and convenient Mexican food in Amador County. Their food truck is a staple on the corner of the main highway and Ridge Road and they've developed a well-earned reputation. I have eaten here a handful of times over the years. On my most recent visit, my family went with a cross-sampling of most of the menu, including tacos, burritos and chile rellenos. I am definitely a fan of their burritos - big, hearty, filled with tender meat (especially if you go with the steak option), and they pair excellently with their house salsas. I'm not as a big a fan of the tacos, which in my case were overwhelmed with sour cream, but I did like the chile relleno and I'm not usually a fan of those. Usually they are greasy, here it was just perfectly cooked. Stop in and give them a try!

Tamales as amazing. The best I've ever had by a wide margin. I've no idea what they do with the cornmeal but it's amazing!

Both came with salad to start with plus chips that were efficiently refilled by our server. I'm on the keto diet, so I was looking for something that would work with that and the fajitas works great especially if you avoid the sides. It was plenty with the salad, though it also comes with a plate full of rice, beans, guacamole, and sour cream. The space was quiet for the most part- no TVs, or loud music. We went on a Tuesday and it wasn't too crowded. You walk in and whenever the server sees you, she'll instruct you to pick a table. The food comes fast- drinks followed by chips/salsa, followed closely by salad, and then main course. I was impressed at the steady stream of courses. They do seem to favor black pepper for their seasoning, but not to the point of it being obnoxious. I like perhaps a bit more "pop" to the flavor of the food if I'm being honest, but I generally like my food to be loud. The salsa is onion heavy (onions being the main flavor of the salsa), which would be a problem for some of my family members who are allergic. Payments are made at the table, though there is a register located at the front for takeout patrons. I was pleasantly impressed with this little restaurant and we will be coming back.

The food is consistently flavorful, and the service is always fast and friendly, which makes it a reliable go-to whether dining in or ordering out. The tortilla soup was excellent--rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. It was topped with fresh avocado and sour cream, which added a nice creaminess and really elevated the dish. It's a great option if you're looking for something warm and satisfying. Our favorite item on the menu is the asada super burrito with green sauce. It never disappoints. The carne asada is well-seasoned and tender, and the green sauce adds just the right amount of flavor. It's a standout dish and one we order almost every time. We also tried the chile relleno on this visit and were pleasantly surprised. It was well-prepared, flavorful, and nicely balanced without being too heavy. Overall, this restaurant consistently offers great food, quick service, and a welcoming experience. Highly recommend if you're looking for quality Mexican cuisine done right.

Can I just say that it warmed my heart when the girl taking my order asked me exactly when I planned to arrive, so that my nachos wouldn't get soggy? Guys, she was concerned about the structural integrity of my nachos, which can be a tricky take out order...She wanted to plan accordingly. So at the end of a really terrible day, my nachos were perfectly crispy when they arrived home. Furthermore, upon arriving at the restaurant, my tired soul found salvation in the form of this small sign: "margaritas to go" And after that, my entire evening turned around. Thank you, El Torero for saving the day, once again.

We were a group of six diners. Service was attentive and accommodating. My husband had the #25 Shredded beef burrito and chili verde pork burrito. He enjoyed it. I asked for a side of salsa as dressing for the salad. It also came with rice but I didn't taste it. I would eat there again. Prices were reasonable. I'm surprised by their overall low rating on Yelp. I think it deserves more.

This spot caught our eye so we decided to give it a try without checking reviews first. Walking in I wasn't sure what to expect. The front dining area was empty, and the staff were all gathered. It was early on a Monday, so I figured maybe it gets busier later... We were seated in another dining room, which actually had a few other diners. We ordered chicken enchiladas, mine were the verdes (Swiss-style) and my husband got the red sauce version. We also added a side of guacamole. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to our hopes. The guacamole was missing something, maybe lime, cilantro, or seasoning, it just tasted flat. My enchiladas had a strong, almost sour aftertaste from the green sauce. The rice was overly seasoned, and the beans were just okay. The red enchiladas didn't stand out either. It all felt like it was quickly thrown together, hoping the cheese and sauce would do the heavy lifting. For the price we expected much better quality. It was overpriced for what felt like cafeteria style food. That said, the host and waitress were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. So while the service was great, the food just didn't do it for us.
