Good meat, good flavor, a hot grill, cold sodas and servers with smiles. Tacos El Poblano has DEE-licious al pastor. There's just something about walking in and seeing that giant spit of meat roasting over the fire. All tables are given a bowl of fresh cut cucumber slices and a condiment tray with salsas. Hands down the best al pastor tacos I've eaten in my entire life. We eat here once (sometimes twice!) a day when we visit Puerto Peñasco. Not exactly catered towards visitors from the USA but they are friendly and will take American dollars. All you need to know is how to say "Cuatro Tacos Al Pastor Por Favor." Only downside is that they are closed on Mondays and don't open until 3:00pm every other day. Also they are closed December 20, 2020 - January 12, 2021. read more

Everything was SOOOOO good. The Al Pastor was remarkable, best I've ever had. I love caramelos - I ordered the carne asada in my caramelos, also delicious. We wanted to make another trip in there before our return back home -But we found out they're closed on Monday. I was devastated I didn't get another round... The caramelo el pastor tacos are the best! We diced up our own pineapple and brought it to put in the tacos and it was a game changer. Very affordable, authentic, and delicious!! This could be the best pastor taco o have ever had. I think the trick is they shave the meat off right off of the spit where they are roasting it. Immediately the guy puts it in a hot tortilla puts guacamole and onions fresh cilantro on it and it comes out to the table in 30 seconds. These are fantastic tacos with fresh guacamole and three outstanding salsas you may be the only gringo there but it's totally worth going to this place. read more

Can't yell you how the tacos were. Placed our taco order and asked for drinks. Waitress told us she would be back to take our drink order 15 minutes later we helped ourselves to the drink cooler. Waited for over half an hour more while locals who arrived way after us reveived their orders. Also, no light in the men's restriom. I would not recommend wasting your time here. While the food is very good and friendly the service is poor at best. My family loves the place and so do I but you really have to look past the service. They have recently enclosed the main eating area and added much needed AC so that helps but now my main challenge is that the prices are no where to be found. On two different occasions the price total was very different for the same identical order so keep that in mind. The locations is excellent as someone else said specially if you are staying at the condos. I will be having dinner there in two days so what else can I say. read more

Been at this place many times mainly because of the tacos are some of the best ones in town, however the service it's TERRIBLE!! Not just bad it seems as if they discriminate against tourists o felt it in several occasions and today it was proven to me. I order a vampiro (it's basically a tostada) topped off with your favorite meat and I was told that they didn't have any or were out of them almost before we finish eating I witnessed a new group of locals next to me getting their "vampiro".....apparently my dollars are NOT green enough. This place has the best pastor and carne asada tacos in Rocky Point. I've been going my whole life and we got referred by a friend this past visit, and went 3 out of our 4 night stay (the other to Pollo Luca's). As for the bad reviews below, you have to remember you're in Mexico. You will rarely get the service you expect in the states, anywhere! You're lucky they even have a bathroom :) The staff is friendly, and the owner waited on us each night with a big smile and lots of extra sides at no charge (extra beans and tortillas for our kids, which were equally amazing). The food came quickly as well. Helping yourself to drinks in the fridge seems customary at all the restaurants we go to down there, not a big deal. The best attitude is to remember you're on vacation, you're probably not in a rush. read more

I was looking forward to trying these tacos. But what a surprise and disappointment, we went there recently on a Thursday night after going out to a bar. At first, we were happy with the size portions and the prizes and the friendly service by a kid, son of the pastor taquero. But immediately after eating, I felt something was wrong. The whole night I continued to go to the bathroom all night and in the morning I vomited all of the meal that I had the night before. I never gotten Food Poisoning ever in my life, this was my first time, and boy it was not pleasant. I think it was the pastor meat left out in the open the whole day, and since we came just before closing, they gave us the poorest selection of meat. Beware of what you eat here, I really wanted to like this place so I could write a positive review and say they were the best in puerto penasco, but it turned out to be the opposite! read more
