We ordered the carne asada fries and a carne asada quesadilla. Both had plenty of carne asada, which was great, but they were really lacking in everything else. There was no noticeable sour cream and barely any cheese, which made both dishes feel dry and incomplete. They're also supposed to come with tomatoes and onions, but there was only the occasional crunch of onion or a small piece of tomato--nothing you could actually taste or notice overall. The meat was solid, but without the toppings to balance it out, the flavor just didn't come together. A little more attention to the basics would make a big difference. read more

I was going to start off by detailing what was bad about our food and after typing a book of a detailed review I decided to shorten my review. We got a "your meat choice" burrito, chili Colorado plate, quesadilla, several different types of tacos and chips and salsa. Let me say that the only thing we liked was the tortilla chips. The salsa was sickeningly sweet. The meats in every case we're dry, overcooked and greasy. You can't even begin to call the beef bits Carne Asada except in the sense it had meat DNA and proteins in it. The Chili Colorado sauce was so weird and yet had the same "carne asada". The rice was bland and hard. The beans were a goopy tasteless mess. Their hot sauce doesn't come close to masking any of these flavors. We got take out and tried to add fresh vegetables and other sauces to everything we ordered but it never helped. I was initially going to comment that I didn't know what part of Mexico this type of food is attempting to represent but after a night to think about this before leaving a review I'm not sure what Planet this is trying to represent. With all of the opinions in our group and the positive reviews others have left I'm baffled where it comes from. Either way I would never, Never recommend this place to anyone. The most disappointing Mexican style food we've all collectively had. Anywhere. Plus the most expensive when you consider we ended up throwing it away and going out to a restaurant. Very friendly gave a 10% military discount, they have drive-thru Windows as well as walk-in. Prices are very reasonable and they were very personable. The place was clean inside. Food is authentic and very tasty! Open 7 days a week till 9pm, Sunday at 8pm. read more

Everything I've had here is delicious. As much as I love more authentic options, I'm a sucker for carne asada fries. Their carne asada is very tende and well seasoned, the fries are always crispy, and the rest of the toppings are always very fresh. I only have a few complaints that could be easily fixed: every time I order I never get any cutlery and I have to eat my messy fries with my hands, which is super inconvenient if I'm on my lunch break, but fine if I'm heading home. Also, the picture of the carne asada fries shows the dish with guac, but they don't come with guac. So, maybe include everything in the picture and throw in some plastic forks next time, folks. read more

Being from Arizona, we know authentic Mexican food. What we appreciated about this taco stand is the tortilla. Billed as a corn tortilla, this was a large soft shell of yumminess, grilled for a crispy exterior. Different from what we get near the border, but still tasty. The carne asada (steak) taco was good size and filled with lettuce, tomato and avocado. The side of beans and rice were good, but fairly standard fair. Stopped by for a quick bite and was happy with my tacos. This is one location of three across IF for this business and is located on the west side of town on Broadway. The joint is an itty bitty food truck parked next to a pupuseria on an old corner lot that's now a defunct and derelict car dealership. Ordered Lengua and Asada tacos. The lengua was cut much larger than some tacos I've ordered at other joints, and I was momentarily concerned it might be a tough chew, but was soon proven wrong. Had a taste of my wife's chicken quesadilla and found it to better than most others. The prices were oddly cheaper at this truck than the other one on 17th as well as having a slightly different menu (didn't have chorizo tacos nor tamales). Moved here from the Central Valley (California) because of Politics We were blessed with taco trucks and hole in the wall authentic Mexican spots on almost every corner that reminded us of our families recipes.. We have yet to find it out here! This place gets 3 stars for the churros and the prices. The carne Asada fries were decent. Frozen fries and bland meat. Barely any cheese. I stopped during lunch. There was about 3 people ahead of me waiting yet my food took 40 minutes. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were basically cold. The staff was super friendly which is always nice, however it wasn't very busy and my food was still cold. The tacos themselves were not very great as not only were they cold but they lacked the main ingredient; shrimp. I will not visit this establishment again. read more

Very Americanized food. I got a Carne Asada burrito that had a lot of fat throughout the meat that I had to pull off. There is more lettuce and there was meat in the burrito. It was in a very good taste the only thing that I would say that was good was the tortilla. Great friendly service and the carne asada burrito tasted amazing. The tortilla was to die for! I took away a star because this was the smallest $5 burrito I've ever had. I'm a light eater and it filled me barely. Found this vendor from yelp, decided I would try it for dinner last night. First impressions, small shack, no extras as in adding extra topping, no salsa handouts, tacos 1.75 each. Wanted everything on my carne asada tacos. Food smelled awesome, but when I opened my container I noticed decent quantity of meat, very little onions, cilantro and salsa. Owner said salsa was hot, but he barely put anything on the tacos. Lots of fatty, unchewable parts of carne asada. He added very little lime, but alot of radish. I'm originally from Cali, Taquerias make this taco shack seem very petty. You pay big, get little in return. The owner tries to make everything last rather than please customers. This place is delicious! I was craving tacos big time so I chose this place through yelp. I ALWAYS get al pastor/spicy pork and they definitely did not disappoint. Flavor was fantastic.
