2nd time there. Same thing both times. Seated quick, restaurant had more open tables than occupied. LOUSY waitress. Chips came quick, but the waitress took so long to get to the table that we were done with the chips before she even asked us if we wanted drinks. The first time was actually worse, if you could believe it. Anyways, my burrito was barely warm. Not much flavor either. My wife ordered fish tacos with the tortillas fried. They came out not fried and soggy. Didnt see our waitress till it was time for the check. 2/2 same experience. read more

We used to go here often during happy hour and enjoyed the food and beer. On our last visit, it was nigh on terrible. The chile relleno was basically egg, flour, etc. no chile relleno to be detected, or it was barely noticeable as tiny pieces within all the other ingredients. We also ordered 3 tacos, which were acceptable, but nothing to talk about. Their margaritas during happy hour are now average, and they quit serving Negra Modelo quite some time ago. So now, it's still "ok", but we go there less often than we used to. We currently stick to the happy hour tostadas for the most part. read more

First time going to Jaliscos. Went on a Tuesday night and it was dead. Service was quick. Yes, it is another sit down Mexican restaurant in Idaho falls that is not the greatest but still has its greatness. I got the tacos and they were great. The size of the tacos themselves wasn't what I was expecting. I am used to street tacos being a little bigger than hockey pucks. These were definitely the store bought street tortillas you can get at the store. Wife got a burrito and she liked it as well. We both agreed that the rice was not the greatest. We also agreed that that the beans were amazing. I was little frustrated when it came to ordering and a few things I wanted and they didn't have. All and all it is a pretty good place. read more

We were in Thayne, Wyoming and had to go to Idaho Falls for supplies. Found Jalisco's and loved it. Their cheese dip is great. A little thin, but we poured it on everything and took the rest home added a little more cheese and heated it up the next day. Excellent! read more

*** Please take a minute to read. *** Unhelpful management at Jaliscos is condescending and rude when dealing with customers. The manager I spoke with continued to cut me off and disagree. He would not be worth talking to in the best of situations. I've seen them argue with customers when dining in over incorrect orders and spent forever in line picking up up my own take out that ends up being 30-60 minutes late while I camp in the lobby but still have given them chances time after time. My most recent orders from them using delivery services have been wrong 3 consecutive times with me paying for extra sides etc and them never being included while normal meals keep being incorrectly prepared. I have rated them accordingly on deliver apps and have been taken care of by Grubhub but never by the restaurant itself when I've called to address this issue. These problems extend to food pick ups we have personally made. I'm very disappointed in their service and attitude. I will look elsewhere from now on as this does not appear to be a customer focused business who seems to care about running their establishment well. Disappointing. Don't believe my opinion? Read some of the other recent Yelp reviews. Please consider your choices prior to ordering here with all the other amazing Mexican food in Idaho Falls and the surrounding areas, both sit down and fast casual. Morenitas for example is hands down very much better quality food with amazing customer focus and attitude for less than half the price of Jaliscos. I suggest to Avoid this place if at all possible. Oh how I enjoy eating here! I moved away in 2012 and STILL think about their taco salad and delicious salsa! Staff is always gracious and helpful and the food is very consistent. On this recent visit in December, my only complaint would be how few people wore masks properly but that's no reflection on the food. I'd highly recommend them and their high backed booths at least provide a little protection from folks who are too selfish to wear masks. read more

I've had some poor "Mexican" food, but this place ranks in the bottom 2. The most basic item in Mexican cuisine , the tortilla, seemed store bought off a shelf. Salsa was tasteless, don't know what more to say. I normally apply a 3-strike rule before giving up on a restaurant and this place got it all on the first try. My first visit was a high four star. We dined during Happy Hour and enjoyed the discounted beers - Negro Modelo - and the Tostada and the Enchilada happy hour specials. With both meals we substituted black beans for refried beans that come with the meal. Their black beans are quite good. The portion size was good. We liked the food so much we decided to visit again to try their Chile Rellenos. These were sorely disappointing! There was no taste of the poblano pepper, the cheese was all I could taste and once leaving the restaurant I had a terrible stomach ache from too much cheese. I guess if you like to eat a mountain of cheese this would be to your taste. But I've had Chile Rellenos where you could taste the poblano pepper. It enhanced the cheese. The food was not bad, just very bland and no amount of hot pepper sauce could make a dent in the cheese. I will only return for happy hour with my meal being the specials. I'm not interested in trying any of the rest of the menu since I was so disappointed with the Chile Rellenos. read more

Wish I had taken some pics of the delicious food we had. The food had a more authentic rather than american-ized taste to it which was refreshing. The meats were tender, the sauces were delicious. The Parmesan cheese sauce was the bomb! Ordered a small nacho and it was a monster dish. Only reason to dock it a star? We ordered food to go and they made it for inside the restaurant. Ok, not bad and they let us know the mistake but it took over 15 minutes to replate it. I can't imagine that they recooked the food but time management was a little less than optimal. I get 20 mins to make an order for a walk in but the 20 minutes to move from plates to "to go" containers was not right. Overall - the food was worth a repeat visit and I'm sure my daughter who now lives in town will be checking it out again! read more

Probably one of the best bets when staying around the falls. Good food. Employees are overwhelmed by the labor shortage. They told us 30 min for take out. It it Was over an hour and when we walked back to Hilton (only 10 min$ and opened our food it was cold. Which means it was sitting in the back ready for us but hostess couldn't manage the take out and the massive line of guests. She was trying but system is broken. Jalisco's is a good Mexican restaurant in Idaho Falls. They have two locations now: one in front of the river and one in the comercial area. My husband and I have over 5 years visiting at least once a year. I think their food quality has been decreasing during the last couple years. The restaurant: The restaurants have Mexican ambiance and decoration, they look very cute! I love their lamps and the paintings in the walls. The food: Food is good at this place, I think the quality is decreasing but is still good. I got a Carne asada with rice and beans. The steak was a little over cooked but it had a great taste. The rice was good as well. The guacamole was a little darker and it had an after taste. My husband had chicken enchiladas and Chile relleno. The enchiladas with green sauce were a little bit too soupy and it made the Chile relleno soupy as well. He said it was good, but not something fantastic he would like to order again. We normally get margaritas at Mexican restaurants and these were good, nothing special. The service: The best part of the dinner during our last visit was defined the girl serving our table, she was serving the whole area by herself and she did a great job! She constantly checked on us and filled our waters. I'm just sad the quality of the food is not that good anymore. I give them 3.8 Stars for the overall experience. read more

This spot is our go to place when we are in IF. Friendly when we walked in and did not have to wait and all the wait staff were wearing masks- that's a HUGE thumbs up for US! Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful when ordering because the menu is so huge with delicious entrees. We recently visited the 17th street location and was extremely impressed with the friendly staff as we were greeted at the door. We were seated quickly even on a busy weekend night, with menus and a drink order arriving within a few moments of sitting down. The interior is whimsical and offers both booths and tables for parties small or large. There is a bar section with additional seating located next to the main dining area. A small waiting area is just inside the door as well where you can also pick up to-go orders. I snacked on fresh chips and salsa, ordering the Chili Colorado with beans and rice. My friend ordered the Jalisco Nachos with everything. Both meals arrived quickly with ample portions, drinks were kept full and the staff was incredibly fast and prompt. Kids menus are also available to impress the pickiest of eaters. Traditional options are available as well as more American-Mexican cuisine. The flavors are incredible and I left with an extra helping of enchilada sauce and chips. I also highly recommend the friend ice cream, don't leave without trying it or one of the other offered desserts! If you are in the Idaho Falls area or just passing through make sure to stop by either location, both downtown by the green belt and just off 17th! read more

This is the Best Mexican Restaurant in Idaho Falls and one of the Best I've ever been to. I personally think the 17th Street Location is better but I haven't eaten at the River Parkway for a while now. The views down there are better. They have the best Chili Rellano I've ever had! It's the Sauce they put on them. They are very mild and I'm glad because I can't do Spicy very well. My other favorite dish here is the Seafood almost anything but I have to see the Menu for the name of the one I like best. I'll add the name once I find it. I haven't really had anything I don't like though. They are Friendly too, good Chips, Beans and Salsa to get you started. I usually order some to take home too. Really good Guacamole too! read more

Delicious! A small group of us were in town for business and were told this restaurant had good authentic Mexican food. We were a little skeptical as there were not very many people in the restaurant (it was a Monday night). They brought the standard chips and salsa along with refried beans. I was not that thrilled with the salsa so I decided to order a side of guac. The guac was very good! I decided to order the Pollo Fundido and honestly think it is one of the best ones I have ever had. The rest of the group also loved their food. If I happen to come back to Idaho Falls in the future, I will definitely be coming back to Jalisco's! read more
