My husband ate here a few months ago and brought me home a sopa and it was amazing. But he couldn't remember the name. We were on doordash looking for some Mexican food for lunch and based on the location, we knew this was the place! I'm so excited that I can get it delivered I can barely contain myself! Everything came packaged so perfectly, it was shockingly hot when it got here. We tried an asada mulito, carnitas tacos, and an order of carnitas flautas. Everything was super fresh. The tortillas were clearly home made. I cannot recommend this place enough!

    Cabeza, Lengua, and Adobada Tacos

Stopped by this restaurant the other night to grab some tacos. Ordered the Cabeza, Lengua, and Adobada tacos. Some folks may be turned off by the sound of some of these tacos but they really are delicious once you let yourself get over the mental block regarding the meat source. All three tacos were well prepared and tasted great. My favorite was the Lengua taco but each were fantastic in their own right. Would have been great to see some queso fresco and something to add some crunch (escabeche, cabbage, etc) which is why I left off a star in my review. Taco orders don't come with chips or rice and beans so if you are craving them then make sure to add a side order. They had numerous beverage options and we opted for the Horchata and Mexican Coke.

#9 Taco plate with both red and green sauces. Carne Asada and two Adobada.

This is the latest taco truck on our search for "authentico" Mexican food in town. (Plus checked out the wrap that my husband designed for the proprietors.) We both had the #9 taco plate. (I had a Carne Asada, Adobada and Carnitas, and he had two Adobada and a Asada taco.) Pretty tasty carnitas, and the fresh made tortillas were the bomb! The adobada and carne asada were good too (just a tad dry though), but the carnitas was the clear winner for the day. I'll pass on the lengua, tripa and cabeza tacos though. Definitely will come back to try the burritos, sopas and tortas.

I was introduced to this taco truck by my father in law and it is the bomb. Don't expect to walk up to the window and have them slap some stuff on a shell and hand it right to you. They do it right here. The food is cooked when you order, so you will wait, but it is well worth it. We have seen cars lined up 10 deep, and the quality has never suffered. Their sauces are good, although I was a little disappointed with their habanero sauce as it didn't have the heat I was hoping for. But if that's my only complaint, then I'll take it. I had a super burrito which was loaded with everything and they didn't short my carne asada doing it. My wife mulita was delicious and cooked perfect. They are closed on Wednesdays, and I believe you can call ahead so if you're in a time crunch I'd do it. There are also several tables around in the shade where you can enjoy your food.

Really good Mexican food and great value. Sometimes it can take a minute for your food, but worth the wait.

Get 10 carne asada tacos with their habanero sauce and kick back in your car with a beer and watch some Netflix and try not to cry.

You know, those ethnic cuisines whose dreamers go through all that to finally achieve a vision--only to be closed down in less than a couple of years--see it all the time. Yeah well, that ain't Morenita's. I'm sure they put in the hard work, but they've had that hole-in-the-wall vibe location for going on 36 years now. Going strong today cuz they're doin one thing right--everything! They did the time as that hidden gem, serving authentic Michoacán recipes. Keeping food comin out fast and affordable, they consistently served excellence to in-the-know locals. Those locals--their loyals, made Morenita's what it is today--the oldest Mexican eatery in town--the survivor--an Idaho Falls institution. Now, Morenita's is still doin it, with many days of lunchtime being like walking in moments after stocks open on Wall Street. But, for real, the experience is a fiesta. When you're ready to order there is no communication gap. She helped us out with high energy--talkative, helpful, and seemed genuinely happy to be there--nice change. The menu, while presented as authentic, is easily catered to Americanized taste buds. They have a variety of drinks, and wide selection of beers (pretty sure all bottled). So to start, I ordered myself a Modelo Especial. Also, the Breakfast Burrito without potatoes, smothered in cheese and green sauce. That's one thing I don't like about Mexican food breakfast burritos--too much potato, but they fixed it up for me. For a final touch, I ordered a Chile Relleno a la carte. I wanted to add a coffee, which was on the menu, but when I asked for it I was informed all they had was instant. I'm not sure if this is all the time, but that's just...no thanx lol. With a buzzer in hand to alert you to come pick up your food, you go find a table. They are pretty busy, and keep the price down by not running it out to your table. The dining room is not very big, with multiple bench tables big enough to seat like five each. The atmo: Well, not horrible, but a little tooo shared, and cafeteria-like. It was ok, not loud, I could hear who was with me (she gave 5 stars). It's kinda bright and open, but at the same time--chill. The other dine-in customers were totally at ease--completely used to it. Anyway, our buzzer went off, and grabbing the food was quick and easy. The moment of truth: I started with my Breakfast Burrito. They had added extra egg and cheese to replace the potato, filling up the massive fresh tortilla, without extra charge. The first bite took me back to Wall Street, like selling stocks at the right time--total payout! OMGosh it was sooo tasty. The Relleno is maybe the tops in Idaho Falls. Honestly, it's hard to go wrong with a smothered green chile & cheese, but some manage to. Despite my initial apprehension about the atmosphere, I was totally comfortable scarfing down my meal. My usual beer even tasted better there. The food is great, better than many full-scale places. The service is fun and upbeat, and the prices are very competitive. I'm going to do my part to help Morenita's stay around for another 36 years. My highest fast-casual Mexican food rating. Super-Scale 8* Most fast-casual places don't have coffee anyway!

They are very large so easily shareable. The service is a walk up counter with no table service. The food was just ok. Not sure we will come back.
