Got some fish tacos the other day, and it was pretty good. Was told the red sauce is spicy, so skipped it. The fish is tilapia and it was perfectly cooked.

I really enjoyed the food here! For the quality and quantity for its price, you really can't beat it. I think I may have found my New Mexican joint in the JC area. I was a bit skeptical at first since they have such a large menu (usually not a good sign) but I was very pleasantly surprised. We ordered via DoorDash on Cinco de Mayo since it's the law to eat Mexican food on that day. We placed the order at around 5:30 and the quoted time was an hour but it didn't actually get here until 7:30. So that was a little annoying but I also wasn't that mad because everybody is probably trying to order some tacos that day. Here is everything we ordered: Fried Pork Burrito - this was only okay. When it said fried pork, I was thinking fried pork chunks but it was more like pulled pork, which I don't love Beef Tongue Torta (Portuguese bread with refried beans, mayonnaise, jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and avocado - served with your choice of chips, salad, or french fries) - this was by far both mine and my husband's favorite. They don't skimp on the lengua here and I liked the kick that the pickled jalapenos gave it. I of course opted for the french fries, which reminded me of McDonald's fries Al Pastor Quesadilla - this was another banger. You can't really go wrong with a quesadilla. Meat + cheese + carbs? What's not to love? Plus we had some leftover for lunch the next day Next time, I won't be ordering for delivery on Cinco de Mayo. It will be a lot sooner than that and I might try a pick-up order instead. Definitely want to try some of their other tortas and some of their tacos - which are only $3 a pop!

Wow! I must say, this place is amazing. As a SoCal native, I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to Mexican food since it's the cuisine I grew up on. After being in JC for over two years and exploring Mexican food spots in Jersey and NYC, this place finally checks the box. It's not Tex-Mex, and it's definitely not unseasoned to cater to anyone - this is legit Mexican food, complete with telenovelas and soccer on the TV. No frills, real people, and damn good food. Authentic Mexican food in New Jersey? Mind blown! I go to Puerto Vallarta a lot, and no lie - this made me feel like I'm there. The breakfast was authentic, and I will definitely be back! Thank you!

FOOD: 1.) carne asana burrito = yummy, very big tasty burrito I think last time I probably got the quesadilla Been here a few times and I've always really enjoyed the food and it hits the spot. SERVICE: Order from the counter. They give the table chips and salsa if you dine in. They're usually busy with a lot of Togo orders so they are a tad slower but it's worth it. ATMOSPHERE: Just a super low key casual spot. They do have tables so you can eat inside. They don't have alcohol so you are allowed to byob. They do have few outdoor tables. Might be good for warmer summer nights. Like how convenient this place is.

I'm surprised this place has so many poor reviews. I ordered through Uber eats and it arrived very quickly. I got the red chicken enchiladas, a shredded chicken taco and chips and salsa as well as a side of nacho cheese. The chicken in the tacos was a little dry but had great flavor. Kind of like a Tinga. The enchiladas were pretty spicy, but I liked that. Beans and rice were also solid. I'm sure the nacho cheese sauce came out of a can but that was great as well. They have wonderful salsa and I especially enjoyed the habanero salsa. Will definitely be ordering again

We ordered take out from here recently, it was an OK meal. The salsa was average, portions a little small and chips too salty. We ordered veggie enchiladas which came w/ a verde salsa and it was mediocre at best. The cactus sopas had a nice flavor but didn't enjoy the thick corn bread it was served on; esp moreso since it didn't come w/ beans or additional sauce it was rather dry. There are better places, as vegetarians didn't really enjoy this place much.

i was craving tacos and just got surgery so i got some food from tacos victoria delivered! the person i spoke to on the phone was very friendly. you can pay through card over the phone and PRO TIP they have free delivery if you call, just make sure to tip the delivery guy for their service :) they said the food would be ready in 30-40 minutes but i got a call from the delivery guy in 10, super quick! what i ordered (* = my faves): - lengua taco* - pescado taco* - lamb mexican quesadilla the tacos are very good, there's a lot of protein in there and the flavors were on point. i really wanted to like the lamb mexican quesadilla but i thought it was too much tortilla and not enough filling. the filling was good also but maybe i should have gotten another choice of protein because the lamb wasn't super juicy. i would def order again!

    Enchilada Green Sauce

This review is only on a take out, I haven't been to the actual restaurant. Ordered here after having the most terrible experience with another local restaurant. Went with the enchiladas en salsa verde. The presentation and the portion were good, the taste of the green sauce was good a little too spicy for a green sauce but tolerable. Where I had a problem was with the rice and beans, the rice was stale and the beans were very acidic (like when they are going bad) very disappointed since I was really looking forward to have a good meal. I understand that rice and beans are made in big batches, but please make sure you are tasting the food before you are serving it to customers. I will give this place another try just to see how they can redeem themselves, I know they have a truck in downtown and I've heard many good things about. Next time in will with tacos and torta. Overall it was an okay experience.

Al Pastor Taco (Pork/Puerco) Steak Taco
    Puja D.

The steak taco was honestly a little light in flavor - I wish it had something more to it. The Al pastor taco was pretty good!!! Be careful it's super spicy my mouth was on fire but so much flavor! The food was quite affordable, each taco was maybe $4. I got a side of Chile salsa, which was decent as well but needed a little more spice!

Update on 1/18, tried the chipotle chicken (1st time), lamb, steak and shrimp again, all good as always. Photos attached.

Our server was very on top of her stuff, making sure we had everything we needed and we were enjoying the food. She even let us practice our Spanish with her when ordering! My sister ordered the chicken tinga tacos and I ordered the beef birria. Both taco orders came with 5 tacos (because of the deal, it is typically 4), onions, cilantro, lime, and radish. Don't sleep on the radish, it my favorite part to add a nice crunch! Both meats were very flavorful and tender. They also gave us green and hot salsa on the side (green was my fave) and the birria tacos came with some delicious consommé for dipping. We also ordered guac and chips as an appetizer which was very fresh, and our favorite jarritos flavors to drink. It's decorated very nicely inside - no frills, a few tables and chairs inside for dining in and even a bar-style area with stools for those dining by themselves. They also offer takeout of course, but I honestly enjoyed sitting down because everything was very quick and they took great care of us. We walked, but there is only street parking so keep that in mind when traveling here.

However, I recently stopped into their original Jersey City spot for a quick snack at the bar. While my companion ordered a cocktail, I just had a can of Diet Coke, but we shared an order of chips and pico de gallo, which was excellent! The tortilla points were crispy and perfectly salted. The fresh tomato salsa was vibrant and delicious, but we also appreciated the three squirt bottles of more liquid-like sauces they gave us as well. These included one that was more smoky, one that was a medium spice-level verde, and another that was a more fiery rendition. The bar staff was great, and the large dining room was dimly-lit, but decorated with bright, festive colors. I will need to revisit that Orale location for a larger, more substantial meal next time!

The restaurant is located in the busy downtown area of Grove St. Jersey City. If you are lucky enough to get street parking great, if not there are some garages you can park in for a fee. I walked up and there were several employees at the entrance to the outdoor street-side patio chitchatting. They were very pleasant and quickly gave me a table. It wasn't busy. That's a key fact. Also I was dining alone. It took about 5 minutes for the waiter to come over and when he did he asked about my water preference and showed me the QR code on the table to get the menu. He left and came back and I gave him my order which was the carnitas tacos and a watermelon margarita. He quickly walked off and the food came out LITERALLY in 5 minutes. I was surprised because I was expecting the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa that's customary at most Mexican restaurants. Also I saw other tables with 2 or more with chips in front of them. So I asked a waitress that was passing by (since my waiter had seem to disappear) if I too can get the tortilla chips and she said it would be extra. Okay...well I started eating my food and my drink came out. The food was good. Flavorful. Temperature wise it didn't come out hot, it was warm... so it's not cooked to order. The drink was sweet and strong. So my reason for the three stars isn't the food or drink but more so for the service I received as a solo diner. My waiter never came back over to check on me! Had he done so I would have easily ordered dessert and something more to drink as I enjoyed the patio area. I had to wave him down to bring my check as he passed my table several times without even looking my way. Piece of me wanted to mirror his service in my tip but I still gave generously just to be a blessing. But I hate that I received poor service because I was a solo diner. I was a little jealous on how he treated the two other tables with 2&3 people. I spent over $50 here and left disappointed. So if you've reached this far, will I go back? Maybe. Just not alone. Also keep an eye out for people trying to shortcut the line. Prices are steep per taco - is that really surprising in the heart of New York, no - but my favorite is the Adobada: so much flavor packed into the meat and balanced with the sweetness of the pineapple slivers. Second would be the carne asada (get this if you're a guac lover). Their agua de jamaica unfortunately is pretty bland so I'd stick to the classics next time and probably get a bottled Coke.
