For living in NJ for nearly my entire life, I never stepped foot inside a Tacoria. Now living in Jersey City, I couldn't avoid seeing it only a couple streets away from where I live. Looking for a quick dinner, I decided to come here on a whim. Because it was raining pretty decently, I opted to eat inside. There's a small size dining area in the back, though the ordering area and hallway leading there is a bit narrow. Anyhow, for those who are new, the concept is similar to Chipotle, except that they create everything for you behind the scenes. I basically opted for the burrito bowl except with the vegan chorizo (Tacorizo). Before adding the sauces, the Tacorizo had a good amount of heat to it. I simply added the two mildest sauces and it was just enough. Bowl tasted great and it was obviously very filling. Good spot for a quick bite. read more

S/o to the Yelp event for sponsoring some of my food (cuz obviously you gotta get more when you can, duh!). That being said, the habanero sweet orange sauce and the elite corn they have from the sides menu... Best things I ate there! I don't even know what that orange mayo like sauce was on that corn but it made me sad knowing I only had two cute baby corns to eat, I just wanted to keep getting kernels in my teeth for that cob. And the habanero sauce, was downright slurpable. I didn't bother drizzling when you can just take a shot of it after every bite of either taco, burrito, whatever you get. Had to separate this paragraph for the tacos I got. I got 4 tacos. A pollo pastor, a shredded chicken, regular pollo, and regular carne asada. Now pollo and carne asada, nothing too special. Standard but with the way they sauce it and present it, I can say solid taco. The pollo pastor...as someone who can't eat pork, this was a blast to eat. They use mini chunk pineapple and put a good amount of condiments to balance it all out. Chicken not dry and super flavorful. Also enjoy the single tortilla over double. Less carbs. Now that shredded chicken. While not dry, I don't know where that bite was taking me. I just wasn't feeling it and I can't pinpoint why. I don't know if it's the extra stuff on top of it, or the fact that the corn was my fave but the side sauces didn't help. I'd def come back for the other 3 but not that shredded one. That limonada was sooooo good and refreshing! I thought I'd get horchata when I had the chance but because that limonada was hitting right, didn't even bother. And the fact it's like unlimited refills if you get a drink, totally worth it! Overall, I appreciate the patience of the manager and cashier. They were really nice and helpful. The interior was sick too. Repurpose lockers for chairs. Baseball stadium chairs. Definitely tight but just right. I was struggling finding spots for Mexican food, I have a pretty high standard for it, but I'll give this a solid/perfection score lol read more

Service= 10/10- very nice staff members Ambiance= nothing out of the ordinary Food= 2/10 I typically order the Pollo Tinga which is always consistent. I made the biggest mistake in testing the waters ordering the Carne Asada. I typically don't order steak when it comes to establishments like this because they use very cheap cuts and I wasn't wrong. The steak was absolutely inedible and chewy! I literally could not eat through the pieces. They had hard fat within the grain, were chewy and honestly tasted like chopped London Broil. Tacoria is one of my favorite fast-casual spots -- consistently fresh, flavorful, and such a great value! I've been to both the Montclair and Jersey City locations and they never disappoint. Their Beyond Tacorizo Burrito is incredible -- perfectly seasoned, super satisfying, and honestly so packed it can stand up on its own (no joke ). The vegan chipotle aïoli takes everything to the next level -- creamy, smoky, and the perfect finishing touch. I also love their fried avocado and chips + guac, which are always crispy and fresh. Service is quick, the vibe is relaxed, and prices are really fair for how much food you get. We got chicken burritos and Nutella dessert nachos. The chicken burritos were OK. The chicken was so Charles it unfortunately overwhelmed most of the rest of the flavor or the burrito. And it supposedly came with crema but neither of us noticed it and the burrito was very dry. The pico was good but it cost extra, so did the lettuce for some reason. We pass Tacoria often and decided Tuesday would be the perfect day to give it a try. (Get it? Taco Tuesday!) I am deeply impressed. I mentioned I had an onion allergy and the staff was so accommodating. There is an allergen/ingredient list and the gentleman at the front was able to tell me exactly what was in each item. I appreciated the thoroughness, because it allowed me to take the necessary precautions to avoid a reaction. I ordered two chicken tacos, no onions, no pico or salsa and street corn. When I tell you the tacos were exactly what I needed post workout! I could easily come for the street corn, just for a snack. The corn was savory. We dined in and I found the dining area to be impeccable. There is someone constantly cleaning. We were able to take advantage of the salsa wall because we dined in and I found a new favorite sauce. One of my favorite spots in Jersey City! There are plenty of taco and Mexican options, but Tacoria never disappoints. I went to a Yelp event and got the burrito box with carne asada and the Mexican street corn. It's really the sauce and seasoning that sets this place apart. I also highly recommend anything with their brussel sprouts or golden avocado! Everyone is always super nice and it's easy to see why they always have business. This is a wonderful spot to refuel after a nice workout. I stopped by Tacoria after playing some tennis and the burrito bowl I ordered has so much texture, crunch, and flavor. They give a generous amount of Mexican rice, meats, and cheese. I was originally worried about the abundance of pineapple in my bowl but was pleasantly surprised! The corn chips tasted fresh and a little bit on the hard side and the guac is well seasoned and delicious! I like how this spot also has a wall full of condiments and hot sauce that you can grab and return at your convenience. The inside has refurbished seating which I thought was a vintage touch - like the stadium seats and the used lockers turned sideways. My order definitely did not feel heavy as other spots may do and if I'm playing tennis in the area again, I'm stopping by here from now on. read more

I ordered the burrito box with Al pastor and chips and guac. The burrito box comes with rice, black beans, cheese, salsa, pico de gallo, and crema. I think they gave the perfect amount of meat compared to all the other toppings however I do wish the overall quantity was a little more. Overall the burrito box had a bunch of flavors that mixed well with each other. The guacamole was really good and fresh, but I thought the chips were slightly over crisped. For takeout/delivery, I thought the items were carefully packaged and sealed so I didn't get a messy arrival of my food. I also thought the preparation time to delivery pickup time was very quick! Also, they also are very very nice and go above and beyond for customer service. I ordered from Hoboken by mistake and they called Hoboken, who couldn't actually find my order anyway, but they took a picture of my phone and then made my food at the Jersey City location, which was definitely going above and beyond. We decided to come here after a great first experience at the Paramus location...but was sadly disappointed this time... The flavor just wasn't the same, it was definitely lacking and could've been better. I will say the burrito my fiancé ordered was delicious with just one bite! But the tacos and elote (Mexican street corn) weren't the best...and certainly not like the first experience we've had with Tacoria. What a gem of a taco joint! Came here to try out this taco spot, and I walked out with a few menu items that were very enjoyable. Everything here looked up to par from the tacos to nachos. The nachos were made with fresh thick cut chips that held together the ingredients very well. The ingredients were packed with flavor and made this entree very delicious. The tacos were constructed perfectly. Very meaty and each ingredient appeared to be made fresh. The best part was the tortilla. It was thick enough to hold all the ingredients inside without tearing apart. Typically you'll have places give 2 soft shells to hold the taco together, but this place is daring enough to use just 1 and for it to hold it all is HUGE plus! How can you mess up corn on the cob? You can't! This place grilles it and seasons it perfectly to give it a nice punch of flavor. Homemade guava drink was not super sweet, and very refreshing. A must try! This is my go-to for mexican take out in Jersey City. Their vegan options are plentiful and their food always hits the spot. From nachos to their burritos, you really can't go wrong here. Except for their tacos--- they are pricey, small, and fall apart too easily. Not the best. However, the food is always fresh. This place is always busy with order pick ups but they do have a lot of seating if you're eating in! If you're in JC and in the mood for some satisfying Mexican, I definitely recommend Tacoria, not to be confused with Taqueria which is also a Mexican spot in downtown JC. read more
