The woman behind the counter was really helpful. Everything was incredible and everyone loved them. Went to the Tadoughs on University in Peoria and was some of the worst service I have ever received ever. The doughnuts were thrown in the bag and they were all mixed together. The chocolate and maple were all over the glazed. I ordered a half dozen and rather than putting them in a box she just threw them in the bag. Omg the best cinnamon rolls. I haven't tried them all yet , can't get past the cinnamon roll. That is the reason for only 4 stars. My schedule is odd , I usually sleep till around 11-12 am. I plan a day to get up before 5am so I can get a roll , they are that good. Employee that works the front couldn't be nicer, or more efficient when several customers are there . Most days all donuts are sold out by 8am, let's get real either make more or be order only. You have to call to order donuts but if the message machine is full that is impossible, come on guys it's 2020. Your also closed Sunday and Monday very weird for a donut shop but who knows. You have no website or online ordering platform, once again it's 2020 come on. The girls working inside are always pleasant, but usually only have a few things to say such as sorry we are sold out. My first time ever trying potato donuts and I am so glad I set an alarm to wake up for them. I went on a day after a snow storm around 7-8am and about half their donuts were sold out already! Since it was my first time I told the girl to help me pick any 6 random ones, and I must say, their donuts definitely do not disappoint. How can I give a review for such a perfect business? Spudnuts is a tiny little donut shop in Pekin that does one thing, and only one thing. Donuts. Don't try to order a cake, pie, loaf of bread or cookies. They won't, they don't. They are only open Tues - Sat and when the donuts are gone, it's over for the day. I've stopped in around 730 in the morning only to discover they have sold out. The donuts are unique, odd looking (compared to today's big box garbage) and fantastically delicious! I can't put my finger on what it is, but they are addictive. If you stop in, be sure to take cash or a check. They don't accept credit/debit. Be prepared to wait a few minutes if there are people in line, but don't stare at your phone! Take the time to visually enjoy every sweet delicious morsel in the old school display cases. Oh and for the love of God, leave a tip! The girls behind the counter work very hard! Lastly, don't buy one donut. You probably can't eat two, but take one to a coworker or neighbor. These donuts are amazing! This is a small donut shop and they make the donuts fresh each day. If you get there at 10am..there may not be much selection left! The main thing I love about them is the fact that they are made with potato flour so they are gluten free! Happy me! We tried their original, plus a chocolate and vanilla cake donut. I'm not sure if the same people own the Spudnut Shop that started downtown Pekin on Court Street when I was a snot nosed high school student.
