Four scones and thirty years ago... This place is hopping! Maria and I made plans to get some coffee and I suggested Four30 scones since it's been on my radar for a few years now. We dropped in around 10:30am and almost all the indoor and outdoor seating was full with a line from the register to the door near the registers once we got in line. Maria was getting a bit flustered at how busy it was but I could tell the staff was doing their best and going as fast as they could since they also had a long drive-thru line to contend with. I grabbed my usual americano and since I was hungry, I got a cheddar bacon sausage biscuit to give my coffee something to wash down. Despite how busy it was, both the drink and the sandwich came out fairy quick. The americano was a bit inoffensive, which is a bit of a letdown since I love a good strong punch of bitter with them. It was still good, flavor-wise, just a bit of a miss on the bitter. The cheddar bacon biscuit sandwich was good but as I reflect back on it, I think it was about $6 for a small sandwich and it seemed like one they had pre-made and just heated up. Again, good but not much bang for my buck but that might just be the world we live in these days. Once the crowd finally died down, Maria and I headed outside and chatted until the afternoon sun started to bake us alive. Getting baked by the sun at a bakery. Haaaa! With how busy it was, the interior of the place is pretty small, so if you are going to try and settle in to do some homework or work meetings, this might just not be the place for you. Quick little hangouts or grab and go is the best option for this place. Overall, I think Four30 Scones was pretty good and I would go back if I was in the area. Parking can get pretty tight if they are busy and the drive-thru seemed to be non-stop hopping so that's a good indicator that this place is going to become a Morton staple if it hasn't done so already. On a side note, there is a big glass window that lets you see into their bakery operations if you are inclined to watch them make the scones. Stopped in here on a Friday morning on my way up to my cousins. I was looking for a good locally owned place and found this on Yelp. They have a drive thru as well as inside ordering and seating. Their parking lot is rather small and it looks like it can get pretty busy / crowded real quick. Their specialty is Scones and they have a lot to choose from! After much indecision I finally defaulted to a blueberry lemon one. It was very good and my house coffee, the "Daily Brew", exceeded my expectations and I enjoyed it very much as well! There are tables along the back wall as well as a bar one can set at. There's also a small outdoor patio area where one can enjoy their morning coffee. I moved close to Morton not to long ago so I stopped in here for the first time to grab an iced coffee. I never really had scones before, so this was a great opportunity to see what they were all about. They had a big variety of scones, as you can see in the pictures, I tried the chocolate chip one, and it was pretty good. I ordered an iced caramel coffee and a blended vanilla cold brew. I enjoyed the blended drink the most & enjoyed my experience. You can even see them cooking the scones through the glass. The coffee shop is located at a stop light at an intersection, and there is also a drive-thru for convenience. Take a few minutes out of your day to stop it and grab a coffee and a scone at this cute coffee shop! read more

Delightful mini lounge coffee and scone bar, super bright atmosphere matching the friendly service, gives a great mix for the Morton coffee & scone scene! I enjoyed a Miel with oatmilk which turned out just fine though after about an hour of slow sipping noticed very thick settling. Seems lots of places (even Starbucks) have this problem with the mix not combining well even in a hot beverage over an hour after purchase. No matter, was a solid miel without being overly sweet, making room for real flavors and pleasant blend of cinnamon and coffee. A great concept to see in central Illinois! Located right a the edge of downtown Morton, this solo building currently just does drive-through. There are various coffees and other drinks that are offered, but obviously, scones are the main reason to come here. Each scone is $2.70, which I think is a little high given their size. The size of the scone is about half the size of an average hand (6 inches). However, it is better to support a small business versus paying $4 at Starbucks. The scones taste way better too! I got the espresso, cinnamon chip, and chocolate chip flavor. Each was great in its own sweet way! I would definitely come back and support again! read more

My wife and I try to get to this establishment at least once a week, if not more often. The coffee is always very good, and the employees provide genuinely excellent service. There is usually a wide variety of scones available for a diverse selection, and they are always very good. We usually use the drive-thru to order, as we've felt the interior is not comfortable to us. It is cool to watch their bakery in action crafting their scones, though. I love a small shop like this in my town. Cool atmosphere and the employees have always been friendly. The scones themselves are good and we always get a mix from the wide variety offered when we go. There are only negatives (and I hate to really call them that) are that one, when we do get a mix the flavors at times don't seem to taste that much different from each other unless there is a citrus or maple glaze. And two, the price per scone does seem high (although as mentioned by someone else, it beats paying the same price at a franchise). Went in to buy some scones and drinks and saw that Covid precautions were not being followed. Two servers behind the counter were masked but another person behind the counter was not and none of the customers were masked. Just bought my stuff quickly and left.
