Blown away. Everything is well executed. Service, food, cleanliness, ambiance, and drinks. We sat at the bar and it was great to see how meticulous the cooks were as they made something as simple as sunny side up eggs. Baked goods are fantastic.

Simply amazing! Creative and delicious meals in a clean, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Service was great as well! What a treat

Pleasantly surprised to find this gem in downtown Peoria. The trout sandwich was nicely fried with the coleslaw being a perfect compliment. The salad was fresh and flavorful. I would want to come back and try the pastries next time!

First time visiting here and was impressed. I wasn't sure what to order so kept it simple with tomato soup & grilled cheese sandwich. Best I've ever had and even this simple dish was presented nicely!

Oh my yuminess! The food here is quite delicious! Loved all the breaded delights! Service was ok. Our waiter brought us what we asked for. Water cups are very small here so if you are looking to quench your thirst here you may actually want to have your own water bottle or order another drink as refill time took a while. Ambiance was super hustle and bustling....busy. Be prepared to wait to eat here, but worth it.

I can't believe how lucky Peoria is to have such an amazing restaurant. My dinner was so incredible that I had to come back the next morning for their bakery items. The quality of their food is outstanding, and the service was impeccable. We felt well taken care of and attended to by really kind staff. Their menu has some really fun takes on popular dishes and the flavor is not lacking. Whether you go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, it won't disappoint you. Couldn't recommend them enough!

Don't let the name fool you. This is more than a bread shop. It's a nice bistro restaurant with a unique menu. There is a take-out bakery side, with pastry and bread that looked absolutely amazing. We ate Sunday brunch in the restaurant side. It was very busy, so I was happy we made a reservation. I had the steak and egg sandwich with horseradish aioli. It was not what I expected when our server delivered it, because the steak was chopped up (almost like a pulled pork consistency). It also had a red cabbage slaw on it, which was another pleasant surprise. It was delicious. I ate it with a knife and fork, because it was a bit messy. My friends had different versions of the breakfast platter. One asked for eggs over medium (they actually came over easy) and the bacon crispy. The bacon is very sweet and sticky (at least when cooked crispy). My other friend ordered scrambled eggs with avocado. Both got the potato terrine. It sounded better than it tasted. They both loved the sourdough toast. I tried to order one of the large chocolate chip and rye cookies to take away, but they had already run out. The restaurant has a trendy vibe and uses the space well for the bakery and restaurant. My biggest disappointment was that they did not bring our food at the same time. My sandwich and their potato terrines came out several minutes before their platters. That always makes things awkward because I sit there waiting for their food to arrive, and they feel bad that my food is getting cold while we wait. Hopefully that was a "one off" experience and not their usual process.

The bread and pastries, some of the best in Illinois that I have tried, had croissants so flaky you could see each layer. The ambiance is nice. The menu is unusual breakfast food done with a modern flare. The service was great.

Having gleefully moved to Peoria, with Ardor on our legit list of reasons why, I am a superfan, with two suggestions: 1. Your zero proof cocktails are almost perfect. But We Who Enjoy Mocktails more out of necessity than pure interest seek a cocktail experience, not a large glass of something, even if that something is as tasty as what you're offering. Give us the full cocktail experience in a small, fancy-ass glass. You wouldn't serve a martini in a tumbler, wouldja? 2. You gotta kick the kitchen staff off the musical curation role for the dining room. No one wants to be blasted with Peal Jam while mouthing the most sublime and delightfully obscene morel with their foodie lover.

Hands down the best restaurant in Peoria and maybe even North America. I easily eat a loaf of sour dough each time we go

Krispykouign is just a fancy name for bacon, egg, and cheese. I liked it. The bread was softer than it looks.

Went here twice. Got the breakfast platter the first time. Was not so impressed. Went back and tried the krispykouign and both my daughter and I really liked it. It's $5 cheaper than the breakfast platter too. The bacon is mapley. Really good. Bit of a mess to eat but otherwise all good. Call me crazy but I could do without the smell of the wood fire. Left my shirt smelling like it after I left. The pastries are good too but I don't like how they add a mandatory tip for putting a croissant in a bag. Come on now...

Can I rate this more than 5? I have great ardor for this gem in Peoria. I have been to brunch, dinner, cocktails, and a wine dinner and all have been 5 stars. From the service to atmosphere to the food I would rate this as one of my favorite spots in the world! I remember getting coffee on war memorial to following them to a small spot next door to seeing this whole operation and it is something to be proud of. If you are just coming for a delicious pastry that would rival any shop in Paris to a full meal you should expect nothing short of perfection. I could go on but I will let the pics speak for themselves. Thank you for doing what you do!

Ardor after dark, dinner here for the first time. We had to wait for our table but went upstairs to the bar/ cocktail lounge area, so cool. Come early just to go. Drinks were fantastic and the service was great. Back downstairs for dinner. It's a shared plate style eating experience. Even tough one dairy allergy they were able to accommodate. I was a little worried because there was a lot of cheese and butter on the menu. The winter greens salad was simple but really tasty. I loved the kohlrabi, it was very rustic and delicious. Ended with the half chicken and scallops. The chicken was so tender! Great flavor. The scallops, although not dairy free were really really good. Cooked to perfection.

    Bean vegetable dish...delish!

I never understand how service companies never trained their employees to be friendly and just human decency. Went to the coffee shop. They don't even have half-and-half. They've got carnation little creamers that's not half-and-half. Also, as somebody else has mentioned, the setup is very confusing. You have two different rooms that are connected to each other, but you have to pay for the baked goods on one side of the coffee on the other side, those supposedly they're the same company, very disjointed. As you can tell, I won't be returning. I'm a small business owner and I wish them all the best but they've got to fix their service. There are 101 coffee shops in Central Illinois.

I was a little confused when first arriving opening the door to a number of bakers racks in the middle of the floor - it felt like you were entering the 'back door'. There was also a slightly unsettling 'alarm' that rang as the door was opened, not your typical 'ding dong' of a shop door. I picked up 5 pieces of tres leches cake - $4 a piece... a definite value! The gentleman behind the counter diligently and carefully packed each dripping moist piece of cake into its own to go box. Review Visit: June 27th, 2013…read more The place for Mexican baked goods in Peoria. Laura and Matt told me about this little bakery in Peoria that I had to check out. So, doing what I do, I told them to meet me there the next chance we go. We grabbed Tim along the way and headed there for some baked goodies. I will admit that I had no idea what the place was when I was told about it. All I heard was a Mexican bakery I need to check out. I didn't know what to expect but what we experienced was definitely not what I imagined. Most bakeries, when you think of them, are those glass display cases loaded up with tons of bakery items. Breads, cookies, rolls, etc. When we stepped in Panaderia, it was all that and then some. They had the display cases full of stuff but they also had these metal rack holders with racks of baked goods on them. Whether there were for public purchase or they there using the main part of the building as a cooling off area, I don't know. But the smells were overwhelming, in a good way. The place smelled heavenly, even if I wasn't sure what I was smelling. We moved over to the display cases and started to pick out a few things. Some of the things were easy to figure out while a few of the things required us to ask the cashier what they were. He was more than willing to help us pick out our snacks. We all picked out a handful of goodies and headed out. I didn't realize until after we left that they sold pizza as well. That seems odd at first but if you think about it, it does make some sense. Do you not bake a pizza? Don't bakeries bake things? Just put 2 and 2 together and you have a winning combo. As we walked to the car, we snacked on the goodies. I tried to stick to the safe stuff that I knew I would like but I did get a few unknown things as well. It turned out, even the safe bet food took me by surprise. A chocolate chip cookie is a chocolate chip cookie but you add cooking methods used by different ethnic groups and you can find some nuances in how the final cookie tastes. Panaderia is just that. Offering you things that you are familiar or unfamiliar with but adding a bit of Mexican-style of baking to it. My treats were delicious and I have been wanting to go back to get more and to try their pizza out.
