I was in town and needed to get my haircut before a morning meeting. My usual barber at home has temporarily closed, and I'd been so busy that I haven't been able to get my haircut. I thought it was weird that this place opened at 0630, but odly that's when I needed my haircut. Being pressed for time I showed up early, and when the door was opened, there was some great barbershop banter. Paul, and "greg" were the opening crew, and they really made me feel at home. When I was in the chair, Paul asked me what I wanted, and repeated it back to me, touching my head, making sure he knew what I wanted and asking one or two questions. Cronism is alive. Sat in front of Tad for an hour today, and the next guy who walked in sat next to me. Waited there for an hour today and got passed up. The line for the next available is based on memory and who Tad's friends are. When i brought it up told me to chill. I was passed by several folks, i do not mind waiting for my turn - it was busy - i hate to be patronized. This is not the first time i got passed up, i guess he has all the business he needs. I have had at best "okay" haircuts here. None of the haircuts have actually been what I've wanted. Which most guys probably understand, you give an deep explanation of exactly what you would like and show a picture, and you still basically just get a buzz cut. Not only that but most of the time it's uneven. I have a good 2 inches of hair more on one side of the top of my head than the other. I get it won't always be exactly what you want and mistakes happen, but I've given this place a year of getting cuts and I've never once been actually happy with the cut. Some of the barbers are nice and their haircuts aren't terrible, others are still nice but have no idea how to cut hair to the point you gotta try and fix it yourself or wear a hat. read more

Everyone seems nice. They greet you when you walk in. I went yesterday (a holiday) during my lunch break and they were slammed. I expected to wait at least an hour, but they got to me in 25-30 minutes. The dude who cut my hair was friendly. Problem is: he didn't cut my hair the way I wanted. Don't get me wrong, the cut doesn't look bad, it's just not what I wanted. I was growing my hair out a certain way and he cut off too much hair. Now I have to cut off all my hair and start over. This sucks even more because I asked him if he knew what I was talking about and he assured me he knew what I meant. Clearly he didn't. So glad I researched and found this place for my husband. Seth cut my husband hair did a spectacular job trimmed his ears, nose , eye brows and side burns. After Seth was done with the hair cut he cleaned my husbands neck up with a straight razor. I'm so impressed with Tads. My fiancé went in for a TRIM and came back with a mullet! Literally the word used by the stylist who had to fix this mess (she legitimately thought he asked for mullet). He was insistent for the guy, Tad Jr., to fix it and Tad was just like "I don't know what you mean" proceeded to cut some more, and asked "ok, are you done?" All the while answering phones and walking around the shop during the cut. So rude. My Fiancé has been growing out his hair for a year and is almost starting over because they had to cut off so much to just even it out when fixing. I am no licensed stylist, but this is clearly awful. You can see where my fiancé was cut by the blade (why was he shaving over his hairline you ask? Great question). Dude I went for a haircut this morning. Showed the guy a pic of what I wanted three times I wanted to take 4 to 5 inches off the top and fade it down. No he gives me a fucking chili bowl hair cut. Tad's is a walk-in shop in full swing normally with four barbers cutting. Shop is clean and updated modern traditional.. It surprised me walking in, it looked nice online but was even nicer in person. Everyone there is a straight shooter, talented barber, giving traditional razor cleaned clipped cuts, the way a solid cut should be given. While I got my first trim there today and got it from Tad, I noticed how attentive each hair artist was and how closely each paid attention to the detail of the cut and each was professional, nice and very welcoming. For my cut, Tad nailed it and I strongly recommend him. Tad's is an authentic and traditional barber shop and cuts hair in that exact traditional manner. It's what a barbershop is and should be. What Tad's is not.... Tad's is NOT one of these locally increasing in number, salon turned barber shop because somebody went back to barber school after the salon thing failed, to ride a trend wave to pay the bills. Those are not and will never be a barber shop and you'll never get the quality hair cut or experience that you'll get from going to a true barber or authentic shop like Tad's which I can personally and strongly recommend for a great, attention to detail, authentic, solid cut! read more
