My time here for the last 2 years has been amazing. The masters are teaching me discipline and how to defend myself. Taekwondo has also dramatically increased my self confidence. The masters are great with young and old kids. Even if these young kids are shy the masters get through to them and build their confidence. I've seen students go to being shy and not caring about there kicks to being very social and kicking with grate form. And the masters don't do this by being rude or being aggressive which I think is a stereotype of "breaking them down and building them back up" as they say but instead focus on being kind and slowly getting them out of their shell and Encouraging them to try new things. And if they aren't ready then that's ok to them. It is a great place to learn and get out of your comfort zone to reach new goals. Taekwondo Way Mukilteo is amazing. We are so thankful for their wonderful teachers. My five year old has thrived in confidence and focus. We noticed a great improvement in him both on the mat and beyond. The instructors are fabulous with children and provide such a respectful and fun learning environment! I can't begin to say how impressed I am with Taekwondo Way. I have 3 kids ranging from 6 to 9 and they are all loving the curriculum there. They are learning focus, confidence and self control. All the masters and instructors are amazing with the kids. One of my kids is on the spectrum, and they go out of their way to make him feel included and encouraged. If you decide to go here just let me school you on my experience...Durning the summer there is zero AC this place is so hot the parents can't stand to sit and watch their child how do you think your child is doing in this oven exercising? They throw a fan by the back door and call it good! They have a contract read the fine print if you move or your child just doesn't want to go there anymore you are screwed you are paying out 25% of what is left on your contract! They make you auto deducted from your account. My grand baby learned a handful of words and some kicks and they called her a red belt! She watched Dora Dora and learned a handful of Spanish and ninja turtles and learned how to kick and it didn't cost me 175.00 a month. They also take vacations and close for holidays and say you can make up classes but they know you can't because of the way they have the classes by belt and days of the week. So all I am saying is do your research I should of done mine! read more

We have been taking our child to TawkodoWay for over a year now with nothing but a fun learning environment. The confidence our child has learned has been invaluable. Questioning some unconscious bias from specific Instructors. We have been going here a year.

My son signed up after attending a birthday party at Taekwondo Way. He's been attending for a little over a year and has loved every minute of it. The instructors are patient, caring, and effective teachers. The curriculum encourages confidence, respect, community-building, and exercise. Definitely recommend Taekwondo Way. read more

This place has been wonderful for our son. They are teaching so many different skills sets than just punching and kicking. He is learning focus and that is carrying over with his school work, at the dinner table, etc. They are instilling confidence in him and he is improving in so many facets each week. Sadly Taekwondo Way has discriminated against my son with a disability. We were unsure if he would be able to participate in the class but after talking with several staff members who claimed they were able to work with special needs children, we signed him up under the condition that we could terminate the contract due to his disability if the classes were not appropriate for him. We fully discussed his disability and were told by Taekwondo Way staff that we could see how it went and could cancel if not appropriate. We even noted this clause in the contract. After three sessions in late September where my son was unable to participate due to his disability, we called to cancel the classes. However, Taekwondo Way continues to charge my account and is non-responsive to phone calls claiming that they are too busy to find the file or call us back. A very negative experience and dishonest business practices. read more

This group did an event at my daughters school and she came home asking to join. She is only 5 and not that into much so I brought her here for a trail. We have now been in for 4 months and she loves it. Her focus is increased at school as is her attention span. It has been amazing. They do a great job of providing milestones to the kids especially in Tae Keon Joe to keep them motivated and feeling rewarded. read more

Contrary to the very strange and negative review of this studio, I can assure you Taekwondo Way is a professional, safe, and fun environment for children and adults to learn Taekwondo from knowledgeable, respectful staff. Children and adults alike are taught holistic skills of form, respect, positive attitude and Korean terms. I highly recommend this studio and can say that I'm there several times a week and have never seen any behavior like what was mentioned in that weird post. read more

This review is way overdue...the lessons are clear cut and well explained. Owner clearly knows his martial arts. I have been to many martial arts type of classes and the instructors are students themselves or do not show the form the correct way. He clearly does. My son enjoys it too. read more

We received a couple of classes as trial for our 4 years old son. This place is amazing! I wish we lived closer and we can definitely go 3x per week. The only issue with this place is the distance coming all the way from Edmonds. The master's are great, the program and the pricing is fair. One thing is I wish they did contracts 3 months at a time. read more

Adults memberships at this club are advertised as flexible, as opposed to children's memberships. This is because they say they recognize that adults often have issues that require suspension of membership, i.e. health issues, work schedules. We have two memberships here, one child and one adult, and one of them I chose to temporarily suspend by putting a stop payment on the automatic payment through my bank. Several months later, I received a phone call stating that monthly service charges were accumulating on my account that I was required to pay before I could restart. Of course I filed a complaint with the BBB stating that they didn't inform me of any charges, but they continued to charge me. When I called them, they had no sympathy whatsoever, and blamed me for these charges that I knew nothing about. Then my husband stated they sent us a bill in the mail that stated they were charging us $10 per day. I'm planning on publicizing this to many sites, contacting consumer protection, and perhaps even contacting the attorney general's office. And to add to everything, let me tell you about their homophobia. Apparently another parent was displeased that my male child and another male child were making physical contact with one another, though not inappropriate. Just the other day I saw my eight-year-old son sitting out on the floor, and when inquiring they said he was put there at the start of class. The master Ahn takes me outside and says that my son is "touching" people, according to another parent. When I asked for clarification on this "touching," he said the two boys were grasping for the waist in a bear-hug fashion, and a parent said they didn't want other boys touching their son. He went on to say that boys touching each other was inappropriate, and that my son was not allowed to attend if he ever made physical contact with another boy again. While we were leaving, he shouted at my son and waived my son away when he tried to sit next to a baby sitting in a chair in class, like he was a sexual deviant. This is while I was waiting for my daughter to come out of the restroom. In summary, he was accusing my son of inappropriate touching that was really just two boys roughhousing. Then he started treating my my son like he was a sex offender. I've contacted several LGBT groups about this that they did, alienating my son, as it was unbelievably offensive, and possibly illegal. This place looks nice on the outside, but it's rotten on the inside. I'd watch your step if you come here. read more

We looked at half a dozen Tae Kwon Do schools in the area when we moved here 4 years ago and this school is by far the best. Our youngest son started about 3.5 years ago, then our youngest, and now we're all enjoying it. The price is more than fair considering that on any given day there are usually at least 2 if not more masters at the dojang. We recently moved and the commute is less than ideal, but we wouldn't change schools for anything. Every instructor is willing to give personal attention to students from 5 years old to 75 years old (not an exaggeration). With many of the teenage students they even make spots for them to learn to teach classes. Competitions twice a year, summer camps, nun-chuck seminars, private lessons. There is seriously something for everyone here. I could go on but I think you get the picture!! This place rules! read more
