This is a very good YMCA location. I was visiting from another state and the staff was very helpful and welcoming. The equipment and facilities were great. I used the pool and the weight room. The only issue I had was the men's locker room shower, it took approximately four minutes for the water to get warm, and during my shower the water temperature changed when a toilet was used. My Son has been going to swim classes for around 8 months at YMCA mill creek . The instructors are young students and are hit or miss as far as their training skills is concerned. Some are good and some are really bad. Some instructors just do it as a drill rather than letting the kid get a feel for floating and correcting the mistakes. Update: It's been a year since I wrote my previous review. I have to say the situation with the child watch area has drastically improved. I no longer get pulled off of the treadmill mid workout, when it used to happen daily. I feel like the staff is better equipped for whatever reason to handle kids who cry. I'm very appreciate of this change! My only comments now are that the Cardio area is like a sauna. No A/C and fans that don't circulate the area. It's very uncomfortable to work out in for long. I would like to see some different machines that other YMCAs have, like the though abductor and adductor and the one that twists and works out obliques. Was sad to see my favorite bike was removed and there's only one left. Also, 9 out of 10 times that I call, no one answers. I don't understand this since there seems to be ample staff. Anyway, thanks for upping your game in childwatch!! Old review: i wanted to be a fan of this YMCA, but I'm not. To be honest, we regret ever joining. The whole reason we chose YMCA is because they supposedly have a great childcare center, but to date, we've been there at least ten times and we've yet to get past the 15 minute mark in our workout before someone comes to get us stating our child is sad or won't stop crying. He's 1.5 ye. Babies cry. At the Bellevue location, never any problems. At the Everett location, never any problems. At both of these locations, we can easily workout for 1-1.5 hours, and at the most might get paged to come change a diaper. Last time in Mill Creek, I got pulled off the elliptical by a girl who stated that my 1.5 year old was "crying nonstop" after 15 minutes. I cleaned off my machine and went to retrieve him, and was surprised to find him happily playing with other children. I asked if she had me confused with another parent, to which she responded, "Well, he was crying off and on". I said, "He looks pretty happy now.", to which she responded, "Well, we are busy.". So, there you go. Too busy to take care of my kid. Today, we made it a whopping 12 minutes before the girl came to get us saying he "has been crying a really long time". When we went to retrieve him, his diaper was full of poop. No chance to change him and bring him back, just out of luck. That's enough for me. Mill Creek, if you can't hire people capable of taking care of small children, then you shouldn't advertise a childcare center. read more

We usually go to the Stanwood ymca which is much nicer but my daughter wanted to try to water slide really bad. So we drove up there to take her swimming and they apparently make you pass a swim test before you can go down the water slide, which didn't seem like a big deal, until she actually did the test, first of all, this guy was just being a jerk in general for some reason, like very annoyed with everything and just an asshole, but also acting like that with my 8 year old daughter. So they made her swim to the end and back which she did and I thought she did fine but he said she didn't pass cause she wasn't perfect at it, but she swims perfectly fine. And the area after the slide is so small anyways. I noticed NO ONE was going down the slide except 2 older kids, and that's because they are so strict about taking this stupid test. I get that they wanna make sure they can swim, but why does she need to have a perfect breast stroke to go down the slide? It was crazy! I felt like I was in the twilight zone. They had this big slide, completely empty for the most part, and the place was super busy with kids. And no one could pass the test. I talked to a couple other parents that were having the same problem. It's annoying cause it was the only thing we came for. And I probably wouldn't have made a review if it was just the waterslide but it was also the attitude of the 2 staff members/life guards we dealt with, other then that most of the staff was great. But overall the place is overcrowded (I can't even imagine the weekend), small, run down, and not even fun cause you can't actually do the only fun part of that pool. Lame!! Do better! read more

I gave one star for the recent swimming schedule change. Add one star for the employee. They are nice and friendly. Mill Creek YMCA changed the swimming schedule from 4/22/2024. They cut Weekday night family swimming/ open swimming time to extend the swimming class. Swimming class was 4pm to 7 pm before. They extended to 8pm. So, the family/ open swimming start from 8pm to 8:45pm. Only 45mins. And they are closed at 9pm. Would you bring your little kids go swimming at 8pm, go home by 9pm on weekday? The family swimming time used to be very popular, busy and crowded. We are family with two kids (Age 2 and 4). Our favorite activity after dinner is family swimming. I think there are a lot families like us. After the schedule changed, we never been in the pool weekday night. Parents will know how bad the schedule is. I did send complain letter to info@ymca-snoco.org Here is the reply: It is very important that we serve the community as effectively as possible. Drowning is unfortunately a very real concern for parents, especially in our area. It is imperative that we are able to provide the necessary service of teaching children how to be safe in and around the water. That being said, the pool schedule will likely not be this way forever. Swim classes change, and there is often new schedule updates that allow more time for family swim. It would be impossible for us to please everyone, and meet everyone's scheduling needs, so we try and meet in the middle and adjust often where we can. You can get real time swimming updates by using our app. I don't know why other YMCA branches and other gyms can still keep friendly schedule for their members. They are also serving the community as effective as possible. Why they didn't cut member hours? Many families with younger kids went to family swimming. Some parents are teaching children how to be safe in and around the water just like us. Do you think it is also serving the community? Not only the swimming classes are serving the community. Did you count how many kids in the class from 7pm to 8pm? How many kids will go families swimming from 7pm to 8pm if it is open? After schedule changed, when I was there around 7:30pm, I saw four kids are taking class in the open pool area. After 8pm, only few families came to swimming. Much less than before, and you almost never seen younger kids. Is it the effective way to use the swimming pool? Even they said the schedule is not forever, but they didn't answer my question when the schedule will be back to normal. The answer is not sure. I asked what is their future plan and if we can come back to family swimming this summer. There is NO answer. I hope the members can get a promised reasonable swimming hours instead of adjust often depend on how the swimming class is going on. Family swimming is our family favorite activities. I am not sure when their swimming hours will back to normal. I am considering cancel my membership and find another place if they keep the swimming schedule in the summer. YMCA is do big promotion to attract new members. They should provide and keep a reasonable friendly schedule for the members, otherwise, they will lose the members sooner or later. Again, the employee is nice. They are stressful because a lot of members complain about the swimming schedule. Hope the management team will realize the mistake, have a meeting with the employee, fix the problem asap. read more

YMCA is not a bad choice for a family, but the services they offer are below the level you find elsewhere. Staff are friendly, but the place is rarely chaotic. We tried swimming there and it was a failure. They couldn't even get my kid in the water, who is now in advanced level BTW. I tried flag football and it was a total mess! First, someone from the staff offered me a discount (that was a conversation on FB), then he declined to reply to my email. I paid full cost, but what came next was even worse. Schedule and game locations are constantly changing that it becomes impossible to keep a normal schedule. I had to cancel appointments more than once to keep up with the schedule. Yes, it was fun but not worth the trouble. If you're serious about your children sports, I suggest you look somewhere else. read more

We were going to buy a membership for our entire family but after visiting to check it out I think we will pass. the hot tub was 97 degrees. and all but one jet was broken. the facility is ran by a bunch of teenagers who don't seem to care about anything and are down right rude. very disappointed. read more

I know this is kinda stupid and I wasn't going to complain or make a post, but they ended up charging me extra money on purpose. I used to go here a lot to swim pre-covid and it wasn't too bad, there was puke in the pool one time and they escorted everyone out. Anyways, I came in the other day and wanted to buy some day passes for my little sister and cousin. One of the girls at the front desk, I think her name might've been Jess or something, but she was really mean for some reason. I tried to be nice despite the fact that she kept yelling at me, she also told me my address wasn't a real address so I had to pull it up for her to see. She told me the day passes were 5 each and would be 10 dollars. Then on my way out, I asked a different girl at the desk what they charged me since it wasn't popping up, but before the other girl could answer she came out of the room in the back and started yelling that I already paid and that I could leave. The other girl ended up telling her that I was just asking a question because I didn't know how to answer her. She told me she only charged me for the two day passes, so I thanked her and left. Later when the bank notices finally popped up I noticed she charged me for more and since it was only and extra 5. I tried to let it go, but it's just been bothering me. I would dispute it, but the money isn't the issue, it was just how mean she was to me. The other girl with the broken ankle was nice though. read more

We have belonged for about 6 months. I love Tracey's yoga classes and my husband and I do water aerobics classes which I wish they had on Friday's as well. I would like to see more then one pilates class later in the day. The weight room is fairly small. Otherwise all the instructers are great and everyone who works there is helpful and nice. I love this gym! I love it because you see a lot of families and children here. It doesn't feel like a "Meat market," like the other gyms I have been to. The Zumba classes are HARD-CORE but sooooo much fun! The best work-out I've ever had and I have done a lot of different work-outs. The staff is kind as well. I do wish they'd have even more Zumba classes though, like on Friday evenings or even Sunday afternoons would be great. If you live in the area, you should try this gym; you won't be disappointed. :-) read more

I went to this YMCA as a guest with a friend group and i did not have a good time or experience; the employees are rude, especially the life guards. We went to the gym then to the pool and found life guards not paying attention; one of my friends cant swim well so if they were to drown no one could help. When we tried to ask management about it the managers were and are more concerned with the employees than paying costumers. read more

This YMCA has great staff. They are friendly and warm, however the set up of building is hard to get used to. It's spread out awkward and classes are hard to find. I just have to get used to it. The childcare was awesome. My little guy felt right at home. The pool was hard to enjoy as they truly watched everyone like a hawk. I guess this can be good and bad. read more

I'm a fan of the Y, both as a biased former kid spending tons of time at the one in my hometown (which by the way was the best Y I have yet to see with everything from an indoor track to gymnastics room) but also as a volunteer with AmeriCorps with a partnership with the Y. They are a little pricey compared to other gyms, but they also aren't just weights and cardio machines; they are a pool, real gym (think basketball court), dance studio, kids' play area, classes, and community-oriented programs. So why the star off? Well, because the only Y to receive a 5 from me is the one in my hometown. That said, this Y is much better than the one I used to go to in Culver City, CA. So, get on over! Bottom line: The Y is a great organization that serves up a nice gym experience with lots of variety. Mill Creek is no exception. read more

Very Friendly staff and for the most part the bathrooms and showers are clean too. Took my first Pilates class there yesterday and it was fun even though it was me and my daughter. The instructor still took time to do the class for us. The gym area is always well cleaned and equipment working. Do wish they would put in a sauna. read more

Love this place. The staff remember your name, always say hello and goodbye, and always have towels ready for you when you need them. My family has utilized the summer child care programs, specialized classes, and the pool. All are wonderful and we get a lot of enjoyment. It is nice to see the staff becoming more diversified as well and can see many cultures represented. They are pricey compared to other gyms in the area, but you get so much more from this Y than you get at other gyms. Everyone comes to better themselves and enrich their families. Not like the image competitive atmosphere of other fitness centers in the area. No matter who you are, the Mill Creek Y is working hard to make themselves a place that the whole you feels welcome. We will continue to attend the Mill Creek Y and have made many friends in doing so. read more

The facility is fine which is why I give two stars. We enjoyed this ymca for one year with our new baby and loved the childcare. However, their customer service in regards to real matters is garbage. I've left multiple voicemails for the manager (Daniel I believe) in regards to my cancelled membership and have received no call back. I came in two weeks early before my payment was supposed to come out and cancelled my membership; however they claim they need 15 days for a proper cancellation and to not charge. This is not fair or right in anyway. I've worked in billing, and you do not need multiple weeks to turn off an auto payment. I'm now paying over $60 for a membership I won't use a single day of. They haven't tried to do anything to resolve this or explain their policy better. They also need to do better with their morals in this place, as a Christian organization I would expect more. read more

Not a member but I was interested in getting swimming lessons for my kids. I went in to inquire about semi private lessons and was told it would be $140 for 4, half hour sessions. Kind of steep but whatever. We wait on the wait list for a couple months and get an email that they are next. Went in today to pay and was informed we have to pay a membership fee of $25 per kid. I asked if with that fee we could do free swim. No, we would have to buy a day pass. So $165 per kid for two hours worth of swim lessons. Really wish they were upfront about the fees, wasted time waiting on the wait list when I could have been looking for something else. Crap, even a hooker doesn't charge that much. read more

If it wasn't for the 1.5 hours a day of babysitting that are included in the monthly fee, I would probably go insane!!! Seriously mothers, It is so amazing to be able to work out today while your children are receiving amazing daycare! After the first day in daycare the workers knew my kids names and they NEVER forgot them. They are so kind and patient which is a huge change after my experience at 24 hour fitness. The classes they have here are also fabulous! They are fun and the instructors are top notch. I wouldn't think of joining any other gym after going here!!! Also, YMCA is a christian organization that will not turn away anyone who is unable to afford a membership. It is based on your income which helped us out a lot right when we moved here and were poor college students. We were able to pay half price for a family pass for our first year. Thank you YMCA for helping me to be thin while at the same time watching my children after nap time which is when they are most cranky!!! :) read more

The pool really smells. If I swim in there I reek of chlorine the rest of the day, even after a couple of showers. It's really disgusting thinking of all the kiddie pee making it smell like that. There are always weights out all over the place in the weight room. The users leave them out, and the staff doesn't correct them or put them back either. Really my least favorite Y. read more

This gym has a fantastic pool where you can swim all the time you want. Also lots of classes that suit all ages. They have a special division of classes called the Silver Sneakers, which are meant for Senior Citizens. In comparison with other gyms this one is a little bit smaller... You cannot find some machines, there's no sauna like the one in Downtown. Also if you need help you have to make an appointment in order to have orientation, which can take 1 week, like my case... In the mornings it's packed with Senior Citizens, so if you're looking for classes with youth, you better go in the afternoon. read more

We have been members since 2012. My 4 kids love going and enjoy the activities and toys they have in the childcare rooms and youth development center. The staff remembers and greets my children and I by name. My youngest has been going since he was 6 weeks and I have always been impressed. They change diapers and do bottle feedings. It can get busy doing peak hours but they always have enough staff on hand. We have enjoyed the youth sports programs as well as swim lessons. read more

Our family joined the Y a few weeks ago and since we don't have one in our town we've made a point to check out all the locations. This one is our least favorite (kids even hated it). I kept finding used towels at each weight machine I used and towels on the floor by the free weights. One treadmill wouldn't even start and then the next one made a horrible sound. Staff was less than welcoming even in the adventure zone and childwatch. Not to mention they weren't willing to let my kids stay together in either area. We've never had this issue with other locations. The Y is supposed to be all about community and family so why is keeping families together such a foreign idea?? Needless to say we won't be returning here. Not meaning to offend anyone, just giving my opinion based on visiting all 5 Snohomish Co. locations! read more
