Shit tasted like ass. The tables were dirty as fuck. And it was expensive with the five dollar shawarma deal

The waterfront setting is beautiful and creates the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal. The drinks were also really good. Great food, stunning views, and excellent drinks. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for a lunch, dinner or sunset outing with friends and family!

I organized a lunch outing for our Foodies Group group and contacted the restaurant in advance. We…read moreeat out regularly and support non chain independent restaurants. I was told they do not take reservations, but that the doors would open at 11:30 a.m. and seating would be available on a first-come, first-served basis. True to their word, the doors opened exactly at 11:30. Unfortunately, that is where our experience began to deteriorate. Upon entering, we were asked how many people were in our group. When I replied that there were 19 of us, staff immediately began setting up tables outside along the side of the building. I explained that our group did not want to be seated there, as it was away from the direct waterfront view and the main dining area. Despite clearly expressing our preference, no one seemed willing to listen, and the setup continued. We then walked into the dining area where we hoped to sit, only to be confronted by three male servers who told us we could not remain there and would have to go back outside and rejoin the line to be seated. It is worth noting that our group consisted primarily of seniors, some of whom had mobility challenges. Being repeatedly redirected and made to stand and wait was both frustrating and unnecessary. I asked to speak with the owner, whom I had seen outside earlier. Instead, a young woman who identified herself as a manager was sent over. Unfortunately, she was given little opportunity to address our concerns, as the servers continued to insist that we return to the line and follow their instructions. The food itself was very good, but customer service is about more than what is on the plate. I have rarely encountered such a lack of communication, flexibility, and consideration. When a large group arrives ready to support a business, one would hope some effort would be made to accommodate reasonable requests. In the end, most of our group returned to the line and waited to be seated, despite having arrived before many of the other customers. The entire experience left us feeling unwelcome and unappreciated. As a result, I will not be returning, and I suspect many others in our group feel the same way. I expect some of them will share their own experiences in separate reviews.

The executive chef deeply cares about putting together a fresh and delicious meal. We tried "Crab Cake" and "Bolognese Pasta". If it' happens to be full, there is a very large municipal parking lot less than a block away on Elizabeth Street. Paradiso is located in Village Square but faces the street the only place to the west of it that separates it from the Municipal Parking is the nice little boutique style LCBO on the corner of Elizabeth and Pine Streets. We have been going here for many years I'm going to say it's been 20 years or very close maybe more for the ever changing menu. The Chef changes it by the seasons so you are always in for a delicious surprise and selections. The only minus I'd say is their wine list by the bottle it is seriously overpriced. The least expensive bottle of Cab-is $55 ( $14.95 @ The LCBO). Although it hasn't kept us away. My husband ordered it regardless he enjoys a bottle of wine with his dinner. I don't drink so I'm a Perrier or similar gal. Our dinners were outstanding and well priced. They start you off with the most delicious yellow bread it reminded me of cornbread but no corn it's thick like cake cut in wide 1" strips and just as high. It's served with a balsamic vinaigrette for dipping. I could keep eating that . I must ask what type it is on our next visit My husband had the Seafood Pasta which Spaghettini Pescatore consisting of Spaghettini with a white wine cream sauce, shrimp (3 large) , calamari and Atlantic salmon. Not a lot of seafood however only $32 so I'm not complaining. I had the Pickled Beet Salad- basil whipped feta, mixed greens, pickled beets, spice toasted almond crumble with a balsamic vinaigrette $16 and I added a marinated chicken skewer $9 extra. Other choices were garlic shrimp, oven baked salmon ,, grilled sirloin and seared ahi tuna - all $9 to $16 (salmon). All very well priced . For dessert I had the Aftgiuto $9 - also delicious - a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream with a side of espresso to pour over it so yummy! My husband's was huge- Salted Pecan Caramel Tart $14 ( more like a pie than a tart,I had to take pictures. Topped with French Vanilla Ice Cream, warm caramel sauce. I tried it, absolutely amazing . We had a great table for two at the very back of the restaurant it was quiet and quaint. Also extremely close to the restrooms which is always handy. We highly recommend Paradiso for lunch or dinner but remember reservations are a must. Keep in mind that the kitchen closes at 9:00p.m.. They won't kick you out but reserve accordingly. We were there two weeks ago Saturday and were shocked that it was completely full right after Christmas in early January and in this economy but as I mentioned earlier it is really affordable. I was also shocked that we had 6:30 reservations and it was 9:00 when we were leaving after our lovely leisurely dinner. We will be back very soon. Below is my husband with his amazing salted caramel pecan tart topped with French vanilla ice cream and warm caramel sauce. The picture I took of it looking down on it you can see what I mean how it is more of a pie than a tart, it's huge. I had a bite of it and even just one bite is so satisfying and beyond delicious it convinces you it's worth every penny . I'd love to order it however it is far too large for me. I wish my husband would share but he loved it far too much to share. Who can blame him? When you go you must try it. We are really into salted caramel desserts but believe me when I say "this the very best salted caramel anything that we ever had, it dances on your tastebuds and I truly mean that". Don't think about it just make your reservations on YELP or call today. Remember Valentine's is just 4 weeks away if you want to take your Sweetheart there for Valentine's you had better make your reservations now.... If it's not too late already. You don't need to thank me just go and enjoy a wonderful affordable dinner. And if you haven't been there before I know that you will become a regular even after just one visit !
