They were also willing to explain their decision making and teach us more about snow science, which I really liked. The ski terrain was incredible. I could spend years there and not get bored. The food was amazing - way exceeded my expectations, and the lodge itself is really nice. Every detail is so well thought out, and the wood-fired sauna was a perfect way to end every day. I had never really been one to seek out women's only experiences, but really enjoyed it. It was a laid back, supportive and non-competitive atmosphere. I signed up for the trip on my own, and met such an amazing group of people. As one of the younger women on the trip, it was inspiring for me to see that I can still be shredding the backcountry 25 or 30 years from now. I'm planning on going on more trips with Backcountry Babes, for sure.

I felt silly trying on every single one and frankly a waste of time just to see what I could possibly buy. I know my size, but not the sizes of the displayed. Not sure if I came home with Kingman turquoise or other. Again, had no real assistance or interaction to discuss the pieces. The pieces are beautiful and I am still very happy with what I blindly bought. The younger employee who was learning the ropes, was very friendly and obliged in taking out the jewelry for me. Shout-out to this person who redeemed the entire experience. She had the most delightful conversation with my daughter about musicals :) If it wasn't for her, I think I would've walked out and given up purchasing anything. I was hoping to have the experience that I read about in the reviews. I have frequented jewelry stores where customer service was far more. This was just not the situation I had. I did not like that the price was in marker directly written onto the silver. I wasn't expecting that and saw it when I got home. It's very tacky. I understand some places do that. I just didn't expect it from here. Water on a cotton swab isn't budging it. I don't know what safely will.

It's on the main street in downtown Truckee and it's awesome. They have GORGEOUS hand dyed yarns and tons of crafting books. Some of the other art supplies: embroidery supplies, watercolors, calligraphy, wool felting, crochet, drawing.....and on and on. Really unique finds here. They have the Colorio separate pans and palettes so you can create your own collection. I really love the yarn area.... If you're a crafty person you need to stop in!

I attended the Grand Opening recently and was amazed at the variety of subjects that this artist paints. From local city scenes to local musicians, lots of great things attract his eye. I and my local multiple award winning group, First Take featuring Rick Metz (www.RickMetz.com), as well as many of the musicians that regularly sit in with us, have been honored to be a subject of his a few times. It's always fun to wind up in a painting by a talented artist. It's a small space packed full of lots of paintings.
