I stopped by the Potlatch to souvenir shop for my parents, and I was very impressed with the array of gifts to choose from! I bought my parents a beautiful, sparkly magnet in the shape of Lake Tahoe. Even in a saturated market with abundant options for Lake Tahoe inspired gifts, I felt like I made a unique and thoughtful purchase. I also made the executive decision to treat myself! I bought a weathered agate, crystal bracelet with a heart-shaped pendent filled with sand from a local beach. This happened to be a great conversation starter, and the kind woman assisting me with check out gave me tips on how to access the beach where the sand was collected. Overall, I spent just under $100, and I believe the value is well worth it if I'm receiving quality products while also supporting local artists and businesses. read more

Okay, let's face it. This is Income Village, a resort town in the shadows of the Sierra Mountains and sitting next to one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. This is a town with 3 stoplights and other than a Subway restaurant, no fast food restaurants within the town limits. So yeah, you're going to see only a few high end shops offering goods at above normal pricing. Still, if you're looking for a nice gift and you don't have the time, inclination or gas money to drive elsewhere, this is the perfect place to hit up to find something quickly to buy. I always love walking through this store. I stopped in yesterday to pick up some gifts for friends we are staying with this weekend. I found an awesome Tahoe jigsaw puzzle and a really pretty candle. I also got a sweatshirt for my kids at 50% off and one for myself. Id give zero stars but that isn't an option. Prices are high, employees follow you as if you will steal or break something. I was there for 20 mins and never got a hello or anything. Least Walmart has a friendly greeter. I'm younger so they didn't give me the time of day, however, I have $40,000 in plastic that could be potentially spent. Great store with all kinds of interesting things! I came here not looking for anything in particular. I saw some jute (I think) coasters (set of 4) and wanted to purchase. But I wanted 8 of them so I asked if they had more. One of the staff was really helpful and she went to check. Unfortunately they did not have any more. She asked if I was from town and could give me a call when they get more but told her I was just visiting. Too bad! I really wanted those coasters but did not want just 4 of them.
