This is a relatively inexpensive rice and noodle shop in central Greenwich, right near the Cutty Sark DLR stop and Greenwich Market. Most mains are around £6-7, though plain fried noodles or rice are a mere £4. Drinks are also a little cheaper than others nearby, with sodas at £1.8 (for a small/medium glass) and glasses of wine at £3.8. The portions are actually quite huge, with almost enough to split between two only medium-hungry individuals. One thing to know is that they are cash only, so be prepared. They also only have wooden tables and benches, so though there is ample seating, it is not the most comfortable.

This place was alright but definitely not great. We ordered quite a few things from the menu and to be honest everything is very unmemorable with the exception being the whole fish we ordered that was swimming in wonderful flavours and was the standout of the entire meal. Would I eat here again? The answer would be no.

It's not the best Chinese you'll find, but the food is good. Huge plates and cheap. If you don't care the quality of the service and you want a good deal, this is your place. No se puede ir a este restaurante esperando encontrar la mejor comida china y el mejor servicio. Pero las cantidades son muy generosas y de precio está muy bien. Muy recomendable si estas en el bonito Greenwich.

    It was clean and spacious.

After my friend and I enjoyed Greenwich market, we visited this Chinese restaurant because it was very lively with customers and close to the market! Overall, I couldn't have a good time there. Because they brought me a wrong dish and when I told them so, they expressed like I was wrong. After an awkward moment, they served me what I ordered without any comment. The restaurant was clean, cheerful atmosphere and the food was tasty and very volumy, the ingredients they use like prawns looked quite nice, but the service affected the satisfaction so much to me this time.

Those adventurous dishes are what make this gem so amazing. Trust me when I say your taste buds will thank you for taking the path less traveled. If you check out the included photo you'll see a wide assortment of flavors on display, from spicy dumplings swimming in delicious hot oil to aromatic spicy crab, which was a surprise hit. Yes, there are spicy dishes a plenty at this place, but you'll also find plates suitable for milder tongues as well. The entire menu is packed with delicious food which will satisfy just about anyone in your group. Indoor dining isn't happening these days, but during my previous visits to Jin Jiang I always found the service to be friendly and attentive while the atmosphere was quite comfortable. Seriously, this is the kind of rare find (outside of your local Chinatown) that I want to support through these tough times because I love restaurants that work hard to expand the Chinese cuisine experience beyond the same boring stuff that has sadly become synonymous with takeaway. Give them a try if you're looking for something different. They just might become your new favorite Chinese.

I passed by Chinese, Vietnamese, Malaysian, African, Afro-Caribbean restaurants before landing at The Orient restaurant. It's on the high street, and I was drawn in by the roasted ducks dangling in the window. I asked the waitress what the Chinese customers were enjoying, which turned out to be steaming bowls of noodle soup with various options. I went for the roasted duck with bok choy. It was delicious! Just as good as my favorite duck-noodle soup in New York's Chinatown. I washed it down with a large pint of Chinese larger on tap. The total bill was 9 pounds, and I was very happy :) This place encourages me to consider Depford as a home base, especially if I can get a noodle soup fix on the high street.

The rest of the menu is great, too: personal favourites include the salt and chili aubergine. Friends rate the crispy duck as the best they've had! Service is friendly, and I enjoy eating here both for casual lunches and for meals out with friends and family. Highly recommended!

Got me through a couple of nights studying or laughing with friends. I especially recommend the oily goodness of Yeung Chow fried rice. £4.50 for a large is pretty good, especially on a student budget, and many mains are under £5. In fact, I think the most expensive thing on the menu was under £10 and that was roast duck! P.S. Even if you ask for something extra spicy, it will only be mild. P.P.S. Also, they give you loads of prawn crackers and a little pot of chili sauce to dip if you are taking away, Which you probably will have to as there are three tiny little tables in there (as the photo indicates) and they are generally always full. I am always really boring if I get Chinese and get chow mein or sweet and sour. But this place made me experiment with prawn toasts and the duck. Another notable dish was their aubergine and tofu hotpot. The dessert "3 color" was also tasty. Service was dodgy, especially when we told them we don't really want a white rice refill (we were a party of 11) but they insisted that they will just give us a "little". Well, they ended up giving us a whole new (HUGE) bowl of white rice even though we were clearly done eating. Ended up charging us an extra £26 for the unwanted white rice (wtf). Out of the everything we tried, the best dishes were the Thai style chicken feet, salt & pepper squid, and the fried cha siu dumplings. Those that weren't so great were the shu mai and shrimp dumplings. Overall, not a terrible place but don't have high expectations. I'd only come back for the convenience and guaranteed table.
