Best Chinese food I have had in a long time. Everything was fresh, hot, and cooked to perfection

If you're not from Windsor, you won't understand why this place is open, but if you are, you'll know that this hole in the wall Chinese cuisine is a Windsor/Tecumseh staple. The duo-tang type menus, corrections made in pen and white out and new menu items written in, you know this place isn't fancy, but it's good. I came here with my friends one night for dinner, and there were one other couple here sitting in the corner, it was quiet, which is nice, I am not a fan of loud restaurants at all. I had ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken - Hong Kong Style, which comes with a side of chicken fried rice and an egg roll. The food came out hot, it was delicious and always a hefty portion too. Prices aren't bad, my meal altogether with a drink came to around $16 with a drink. Service was good, food came out really quickly, and except for our bouts of laughter and talking, the ambiance was really quiet. If you're looking for a decent Chinese meal, come to this hole in the wall. read more

Just ordered from this place, food arrived ice cold, bland, rice was undercooked and burnt tasting, lemon chicken had no flavour, Szechuan chicken wasn't spicy at all, and don't get me started on the wonton soup, no pork in the noodles at all. Called to complain and kept getting handed off to different people. Used to love the food here, but will never darken their door again! read more

Just a terrible experience from a restaurant that was really good a few years ago. Imagine getting chow mein without the sauce... how does that even get out of the kitchen? So back it went only to come back with some watered down who knows what added to it. It was worse than before so I told the waitress I was done and no longer wanted the dish. This meant I had to go somewhere else now even though my wife's meal was okay, nothing special. So, here comes the bill and they have the audacity to want me to pay for a meal that I didn't eat... well, that wasn't going to happen and I actually had to argue with them instead of them apologising for the problem. Next, they decided I should just pay for the soup and egg roll that came with it. After ruining my evening and treating a customer that has been there many times over the years they still insisted on payment. For a lousy bowl of soup they lost a long time customer and this horrible review. So beware, just because you don't like the food they THEY didn't prepare properly they will attempt to make you pay. This is mine and my husband's favourite Chinese restaurant in the area. It's a little bit of a drive for us to get there, but it is 100% worth it! Their food is always fresh and tastes amazing. Service is very fast and the prices for their luncheon menu are such a good deal. For $5 you get a small bowl of soup and a large plate of food that leaves you stuffed afterwards. It's a small establishment, but always clean and the waitresses are friendly. read more

Terrible customer service and maybe satisfactory at best for food quality!!!!! We waited for over an hour for Chinese i called to see where ot was and the lady said she didn't know and hung up on me. I called back to see if i could get even a couple dollars off and she said no and its not her fault its busy...she said she couldn't even give me a time estimate biggest saddest waste of money. read more

Years ago we used to order take-out from Tai Yin Palace quite often and it was always good. This weekend we had company and we all decided on Chinese food for supper. We ordered dinner for 4 take-out. When we arrived to pick up the food we noticed they only had a 3 star rating from the Health Unit. The place looked much shabbier than we remembered. Back home the four of us dug into our food. The egg rolls were quite greasy, I ended up blotting mine off with a paper towel. The wonton soup had wonton wrappers without anything inside them. But the worst was the little dead black bug my husband found in the Beef Subgum! Our guest said it was a carpet beetle. Needless to say, no more Beef Subgum was consumed. I wanted to go back and return the Beef Subgum, but my husband figured all they would do would be to replace it with another container from the same batch, so I didn't bother. I guess we won't be ordering from here again any time soon. read more

Horrible service. We waited almost 2 hours for our delivery, it was wrong and the girl told me they were too busy to do anything about it and the manager would call me in a few days. Ordered 2 large wonton with long noodles. Total cost $23.65. Got home and checked the four large containers - each container had only regular wonton soup...no long noodles. I called and told them that there was no need to redo the soups, I just wanted the long noodles. I had to drive back but when I got there they handed me one small container. I told them that I had ordered 2 large soups and what they gave me was what I normally get with one large soup. The lady went back to the kitchen and came back and said that you only needed to put a little bit of noodles in the soup. I cannot believe this restaurant and how they treat their customers. They screw up and the customer has to drive back and then they cheap out on noodles that cost them 25 cents!!?? We've had this type of problem before. Last time I order from here. read more

This places was disgusting. Right from when you walk in. I should have turned around but I was so hungry and I use to go here all the time. Im ordering and asked if I could pay more to have both main courses on my combination plate. The waitress just stands there and says " ahhhh no... No no no. Doesnt go ask if its possible than tells me i can do that if i order 2 seperate plates. Than my soup comes out cold and in a bowl covered it what seemed to be someones old dryed up soup from before just brown all over the bowl. Than i take a bite and theres old dryed food on the bottom of the spoon. I asked for a new soup so what do they do they take it and poor it into a new bowl same cold soup and now only one noodle. Than i got my egg roll completle over fried. Than my main course. The rice was all hard and dryed up and cold and my honey garlic ribs well every single one was dryer than the Sahara and cold. The service is awful dont ever go here. Many servers are miserable nd its not sanitary. I will never go there again. read more
