The sign on the front door points to the left where the entry of its sibling House of Pho is located. That tip alone alerts you to the fact that Taiko Bistro and its neighbor are closely related. In fact, they are family; owned by the same people, and put in place after the success of House of Pho led to expansion to cover the bubble tea explosion around the country. They share a kitchen, while House handles traditional Vietnamese fare and Taiko addresses the taste for Asian snacks and tapioca ball drinks. Following directions, I walked into the elder to order Roast Pork Banh Mi, Ribeye Pho and a Mango Smoothie "to go." I returned to my car for the suggested 20 minute wait, as the business wasn't really set up for in house dining. Ten minutes later, the manager/owner/cashier was coming over to my vehicle with a nearly wrapped package. I opened my door to accept the bag and thank her for going the extra mile to find me when everything was ready, rather than waiting for me to re-enter ten minutes later. That kind of courtesy is memorable. The Banh Mi was excellent. Tasty load of thin sliced roast pork with pleasant hoisin flavor, daikon, carrot, cilantro in a fresh demi baguette. Liked it a lot. I assembled the Pho in a large bowl while it was still warm, but with the large next of noodles, generous beef and desire to add copious sprouts and Thai basil, I chose to microwave the broth to better cook everything else and bring the dish back to optimum. It was still good; the taste was there, but there was no doubt it had lost something in transportation. The Mango Smoothie was more a slurpie, with too much freeze and little smooth. It was clearly made from a mix without a hint of fruit pulp. Disappointing. Maybe bubble tea was the way to go. Lesson learned. Banh Mi travels well, and Pho can be resurrected by focuses reheating at home, but a poorly conceived smoothie is impossible to revive. 3.5 STARS read more

This has become my go to place for bubble tea and authentic food. Currently, they have curbside pickup with orders that are ready within 10 to 15 minutes of a call. You will come across the sweetest staff that will accommodate to your requests to the point where we have come to know each other by name. One of my favorite items on the menu is their wings which have two different flavors and levels of spice that are so delicious. Bubble tea comes in two different sizes with all sorts of flavors and combinations. I've tried other items on the menu as well and they never disappoint. This place has become my guilty pleasure for years and I will continue to order from time to time because of the great customer service and amazing food! I wish I could give this place more stars, (or less). The parent restaurant, which is next door owns this little cafe, and they realized there was a demand for bubble tea in bucks county. Absolutely respectable and admirable, however, I've had some screwups recently with my orders. I'm a lover of bubble tea, and the best place to get tea in my opinion is at Teado in Philadelphia, so my standards are already a bit high, however the messed up orders are basic and irritating. I usually order the Praying Mantis, but I like to add extra boba and rainbow jelly to it. Every time that I come, the man who takes my order tries to get under my skin about how "there'll be less drink if I order so many toppings" and makes what takes 30 seconds to order a drink, two minutes. I understand that there's a $.50 upcharge. I read the toppings list that PROMOTES you adding toppings. The most recent time I came in, he restricted me with the amount of toppings I wanted because there "is a limit of two" which would be understandable, but the drink on the menu calls for three from the start (one of which they don't carry). This is very frustrating for me, because I like having a lot of toppings, and I'm willing to pay more for the drink. I paid for EXTRA boba as well, and they barely gave me one serving of the topping unfortunately. This particular time we went, I ordered my drinks with no ice so that I had more room for the toppings, but their option wasn't to fill the drink to the top; they filled the cup 3/4 of the way, which was almost laughable to us, and when we went to order a final drink, one of the workers scolded us for about five minutes about how the recipe calls for ice, and how we shouldn't be ordering the drinks without ice. The only reason I come here still is because this is the only place near me that sells bubble tea, which is unfortunate. If you're a die hard boba lover, I'd suggest just going to Oxford Valley Mall and buying bubble tea from the kiosk in the food court (seriously. much better customer service, and more options too!) or making the trip to Philadelphia for Teado. read more

Great food (and bubble tea), nice atmosphere, prices are reasonable. Employees are super nice. Came in a half hour before closing on a sunday. Did not realized they closed at 7. I felt bad, however the two people working were really polite. The dim sum pork was so good. They have other varities too. Peachee bubble tea was flavorful as well as the prayingmantis. Just Horrible. 1. Very rude man behind the counter-was watching TV & ignored my party of 2 for almost 10 minutes before asking to seat us or take our order. 2. Limited menu is almost exclusively fried food. 3. Poor quality food-there was NO shrimp in the shrimp shumai and there was something very gritty & unpleasant in the dumplings. 4. There is nothing on the menu here that isn't less expensive & better quality at Osaka or Asian Taste Inn. i will give this place a return visit in a month or so as I hope this small business succeeds, but being treated like dirt to overpay for bad food definitely merits a 1-star rating. read more

We just picked up takeout for the first time from here. We used to live closer and would go to House of Pho frequently before this place opened, so I was excited to try this when I came across it on my doordash menu. I'm a sucker for any kind of cheese fry, and man the banh mi cheese fries are fantastic - and bonus points for traveling super well - a major plus during the pandemic! They keep the cheese on the side and give you more than enough which helps them travel without getting soggy - and they put a napkin in the container to soak up the steam - genius! The meats and super flavorful and tender, and the fries have those perfect little crunchies that I love. I'll admit I wasn't expecting stellar fries from a place that specializes in Asian food but they totally delivered! Yum! Also pleasantly surprised at the size of the hoagie, it's about a foot long! My four year old just stole an entire container of the shrimp shumai and devoured it. I managed to wrestle one away from her, and I understood why she was refusing to share. They were FULL of shrimp and really good. We're frequent customers of their other restaurant, so I was keen to try Taiko Bistro. It didn't disappoint. The shumai was delicious, my husband devoured his brisket banh mi (I didn't even get to try it), and my Thai chile chicken and rice was also good. Tried this out today for the first time on a whim and was very impressed! It's very modern and clean inside. Fred was great at explaining what their menu is about. I was super excited to have a banh mi place open close by. The bistro has a nice decor and casual ambience. The only miss was the actual sandwich. The bread and meat were good but a little dry and could use more sauce. There were huge thick pieces of jalapeño that were pretty much inedible and hard to chew through. I would recommend doing thinner slices and it would make a huge improvement. Definitely plan on giving this place a second try in the future. Good luck! read more

Stopped into Taiko Bistro for lunch on a Friday. I was very excited for their opening because I love House of Phó which is right next door and has the same owners. The area needs more fast casual options for lunch and quick dinners. The decor is fantastic. Very nice twist of modern and traditional. I ordered the Grilled Pork Bánh Mi and it was delicious! I also had a Honey Mango Fruit Tea and it was very refreshing. The service was quick. A few days later I stopped in for a Hot Vietnamese Coffee and it was also great. If you've never tried Vietnamese Coffee I highly recommend it. Its sweet without the need for sugar. I look forward to trying more of the menu at Taiko! read more

Came here for lunch today (Friday) at 12:30pm for the first time. The man behind the cash register was grumpy and rude. He snapped at me to say that they don't accept AMEX. Then when I went back to get my tea he slammed it on the counter and said - here's your tea! I asked for tap water and he said we don't have tap water. You have to buy a bottle of water...wait, what???!!! What restaurant doesn't give tap water? We ordered chicken and tofu banh mi, vegetable steamed dumpling and mango honey tea. The banh mi was below average. For all you guys who want an awesome banh mi - go to Pho and Beyond in Willow grove!!! The vegetable dumplings were ok and the tea was average.
