I enjoyed the Red Thai curry with brown rice, but wish I had tried the chicken teriyaki due to no fault of the curry. Service was good, we did have to request the check to get back to a meeting. Had a wonderful dining experience for our party of 2 - however at sunset (around 6/7 PM in summer) the sun shines right into the restaurant and is too bright to see across the table. Please get better shades. Service was great and food was delicious. Salmon Sushi was fresh, Kichi Pork and Egg Fried Rice was good - but get the Kimchi on the side - it's spicy!!! I guess we are masochists. Yet another abysmal dining experience. If this place is open by the end of the year, it would shock me. We went for lunch today. Only one server working and what appears to be the kid of the owners. Ordered an appetizer, Bento box and Pad Thai. We were running errands and wanted two cold IPA's with our meals. The server obviously wasn't a bartender and ended up with the dubious task of attempting to pour our beers. One glass was only filled 75% and the other was 1/3rd foam. The beer was definitely stale, lacked any real carbonation. Then the appetizer came out with our entrees and the dumplings were not hot which indicated they sat the entire time till the entrees were finished. Everything tasted like they were just phoning it in. The dude at the front desk didn't even acknowledge us on our way out. $75.00 for a completely regrettable experience. We will take the trip to Hatchi next time. This place is just terrible now. read more

Loved the assorted Asian choices - Japanese, Korean, sushi, Thai .. ! Edamame appetizer was warm and good. Great ambience and decent service. Loved the salmon salad, both Buckwheat and Yakisoba Omiza Soba dish with basil, tofu and veggies. My friend tried Veggie Gobdol Bibimbap for the first time and he absolutely loved the big hot pot of sticky rice, sunny side of egg and veggies with hot sauce. My friend lives in the area and this is her go to spot for sushi. Count me in! We ordered takeout and it was delicious, which makes me think the dining experience is equally as enjoyable. My friend and her husband clearly are a huge fan of the various dumplings they offer as they ordered three different types! But it was clear that one type was a fan favorite. Drum roll please.....EDAMAME DUMPLINGS! They sure did live up to the hype. The dough was perfectly tender, the edamame puree was the texture you dream of, and the spicy chili dipping sauce is such a nice complement to these tasty pouches of goodness. I couldn't resist trying sushi, though. It's my kryptonite. I went with one one of the Chef Special rolls: Tuna, Salmon & Yellowtail with avocado, asparagus, caviar wrapped in sweet pickled daikon. This combo was superb!!! Not that I didn't think it would be, but I really loved the pickled radish that added a different flare to the fresh wrapped fish. Additionally, I tried the Sofia roll: Shrimp tempura, lobster salad, and mango inside. Wrapped in soy paper and rice. Sliced avocado outside with crabmeat and sweet & spicy jalapeno mayo topping...again very good, but didn't necessarily knock my socks off. All-in-all, I would return! over the last few years we more than $$4000 at Omiza. tonight on my first bite I choked on the pictured fish gristle . The salmon gristle was the side of a large paper clip and became lodged in my throat. I had to go to the men's room and use my fingers to pry this from my throat. Naturally I declined to eat the remainder of the dinner. after this they had the audacity to simply remove the cost of the dinner but charge me for a beer, cocktail and my wife's dinner. Ordered the yellowtail and vegetable rolls to start. The sashimi was of high quality and yuzu sauce delivered a bright note with a tiny kick of heat from the jalapeños. My martini cocktail (can't remember the name) was delicious. The Korean BBQ meat quality and banchan was good. The issue I had was with our server. Not sure if it was due to lack of experience but there were so many fails. My 2 friends never had Korean BBQ before. I have had it plenty of times but I thought they would be given a brief tutorial by our server. I had to ask the server to do so when I finally saw him since another staff member brought the Korean bbq items to our table. Server was also notified about the vegetable rolls never coming out. That was resolved about 10 minutes after I shared my feedback. Then another 10 minutes later, a 2nd order of vegetable rolls came. We sent those back. The ambiance is so nice and food quality is high. However, the customer service for the price point was subpar during the visit. We went here a year ago and remembered loving the mushroom bibimbap, so we went this year on a cold, rainy night when we needed a hot bowl. We were seated quickly for our 7:00 reservation, but as we waited and waited for someone to come to our table to offer drinks or to take an order, we called service was sketchy last year, too. Ten minutes later we ordered our meals. It took 40!!! minutes to get two drinks from the bar--no apologies, only "the bar is backed up." When dinner arrived, we received salads instead of the miso soups we ordered, so we waited more. Again , no apologies. That's enough about the one-star service. Food, however is delicious. We had wok fried baby bok choy in a delicious soy sauce--5/5, tempura sweet potato roll--4/5 (just small), miso soup--4/5, and the mushroom bibimbap--5/5. Some places where we've had bibimbap make the sauce at the table and then stir it into the bowls which I've always enjoyed, but it wasn't necessary. While we went at 7:00, I would let say the place was packed. Maybe at 70% capacity at best. For the last half hour, we had a table with five young noisy kids next to us jousting and drumming with their chop sticks. I wouldn't have thought this was a kid-friendly experience for dinner. Next time, we would order carry out to skip the underwhelming service. read more

Absolutely terrible takeout experience at Omiza. Ordered at 6:20pm on a Friday night--two simple items. They took my name and phone number and said it would be 45 minutes. Fine, I get it, they're busy. I expected a call around 7:00pm. Guess what? No call. I finally called them, and the instant I asked, they replied, "Your order is ready!" The call lasted 14 seconds! Clearly, my food had been sitting there. Sure enough, when I arrived, it was cold. Not lukewarm--cold. What made it worse? Zero apology, zero accountability. Just arrogance, as if I was bothering them. The receipt even said "valued customer." That's a joke. If this is how they treat "valued customers," I can only imagine the rest. There are plenty of restaurants that actually respect their customers' time and money. Omiza isn't one of them. read more

We decided to stop here for dinner before a nearby event and left a bit hungry. The dishes are delicious and beautifully served but the servings are small and overpriced. Usually, I order a lunch or dinner bento box, but have ordered pad thai, dumplings, sashimi, soups, and a couple of Korean dishes. Omiza, despite the Japanese name, is really pan-Asian. We order for delivery, and have been doing so for nearly a year. Aside from the bento boxes being highly customizable, the spice level of soups or whatever is also customizable (not spicy, little spicy, spicy). As much as I love really spicy food, I can't handle it as well as I used to be able to, so "little spicy" is a good compromise. You get some heat, but not the "afterburn," so to speak. The "Dynamite Shrimp" is known as Bang Bang Shrimp elsewhere, with a somewhat spicy mayonnaise based dressing, and is always good. This time around, I ordered the tuna "pizza." Absolutely delicious. Not inexpensive for the quantity of food, but then again, yellowfin tuna isn't inexpensive, so the price is fai, I think. If there's anything the chefs at Omiza get wrong, I haven't ordered it. Just to be clear, we have not visited for sit down dining, and can't comment on wait service. read more

This was some of the worst sushi I have ever had. Go to Ooka... First off, I started with the beef bulgogi slider for an app and it was cold. I tried 3 different rolls. Spider roll, spicy II roll and the $18 lobster roll with wasabi. With regard to the spider roll... I never saw a sushi roll so large. It was unappetizing, impossible to eat with chopsticks and flavorless. The delicate nature of softshell crab was totally masked by the overly fried crab.. flavorless batter. It did the crab zero justice. The lobster $18 roll fell apart. Was not cohesive in flavor. I wanted ice cream for dessert which they were out if. So I paid $7 for a freezer burnt piece of mochi ice cream cut into 4 pieces. Never again. read more

The bento box was simply amazing. The star of the show was the dynamite shrimp! The meat dumplings were also worthy of 5 stars , best meat dumplings I have ever eaten by a mile. The teriyaki salmon was also as delicious as I could have imagined. I had a salad and it was also top notch , the ginger dressing was slightly sweeter then normal and I loved it. The teriyaki was fatty, cold, and practically inedible- the cut of meat looks like scraps. Everything that is supposed to be fried was soft, let alone literally everything was cold. We are frequent flyers to Omiza's sister restaurant Oishi but decided to go to Omiza for Korean barbecue. The food is always good however the service was super disappointing- it took over 30 minutes for my husband and I to get our drinks (we both ordered a glass of wine), and the waitress never put in our second drink order when we asked about halfway through our meal. Outside of the slow service the waitress was not very attentive and never came to check in on us (we would have to try and wave her down to order our food or ask for things). It seems as though they may be very understaffed so hopefully this was a one time issue, but for the price of the meal it was a very disappointing night! read more

We ordered a few things for delivery: Dumpling Sampler A, the Sashimi Deluxe, and the the Bibimbab rice bowl with pork. The bibimbap came with a nice semi-thick chili sauce, smooth, not like oil and ground dried chilies (aka chili crack), and not over the top spicy. The dumplings and sashimi came with dipping sauces that just tasted like plain old soy sauce to me. The sashimi also came with pickled ginger and wasabi, which was probably just green dyed horseradish, so it wasn't as spicy as the real McCoy. Our verdict was that it was surprisingly good. Not sure what that shredded clear vegetable was that the sashimi was placed upon in the container, but it had some refreshing crunch to it. Obviously, we can't comment about table service, but the food is fine for delivery or pickup, and I do appreciate the pan-Asian assortment of items on the menu, rather than focusing solely on Japanese, as the name Omiza would suggest. read more

As you enter this large restaurant you leave the suburbs and enter center city. The decor has a modern center city vibe with a wide open floor plan. My wife and I had the pleasure of dining here on opening night. We had a reservation for 7pm and gave our name as we walked in. After about a 5 minute wait we were seated in the dining room to the left of the waiting area. Towards the back of the restaurant there is a well stocked bar and large sushi bar with (4) sushi chefs. It did take about 10-15mins before our waitress came over but I will give them a pass since it was opening night. She brought over water and a really cool glass tea kettle with what I think was green tee. Our waitress didn't know exactly what it was other than they just got it in from Korea. After pouring a cup of tea we perused the temporary paper menu. It was a bit hard to navigate because it was cobbled together sheets of paper and the appetizer section was printed in about a size 10 front. The menu was diverse with a mix of sushi and Korean BBQ options. One thing that stood out to me was how fair the pricing was. While we were deciding on dinner I had ordered a Woodford Reserve and ginger ale. Our waitress really didn't know what I was asking for but she wrote it down and it turns our they did have it. When the drink arrived I could taste the Woodford but only a hint of Ginger. I asked if they used a different type of ginger ale but it turns out they were just out of it and didn't know(I hope). I thought it tasked like club soda which was due to the syrup being empty in their fountain soda system. I will give them credit because they admitted the error when I asked. I still drank it because it wasn't terrible and the even took it off of our bill which I did not ask for. For dinner I chose the Sashimi Dexluxe $26 and their #2 Chef's special roll $16 (Tuna, Salmon, Yellow Tail, wrapped in Japanese Radish with avocado, caviar & citrus cream). I must say the Sashimi was some of the best i've had in a while and the roll was large and had huge pieces of fish inside. I probably wouldn't get the roll again for the simple reason that it was hard to eat. The Sashimi was a great deal at $26 and I do recommend it. My wife wasn't that hungry so we ordered their fried rice with shrimp and pineapple. The portion was large and we both really enjoyed it. Overall I was really impressed with Omiza from the decor down to the glassware and plates. The fish was fresh and the portions were large for the cost. We will return to sample some of the Korea BBQ options and I highly recommend this great new addition to Doylestown. read more

We came here pretty excited for my daughter's birthday. I think the place is nice but they have some serious things to work out. Wait staff should be trained and honestly the manager should be onsite helping when the sushi kitchen gets behind their main kitchen. A few things for us. The Boa Buns and dumplings were very good. The waitress however was off since we sat down. We were fine and understood in the beginning. And kindly reminded her on the items. She forgot my husband's drink and then when we ordered forgot his salad. We asked for a fork and again she forgot. We also asked about the green tea which tasted different and she said well I poured black tea. She could have just said... hmm let me check. Maybe our tea if just a bit different. Can I get you something else. Anyway. We also made it clear we were here to celebrate my 14yeat olds birthday and asked early about the dessert items. Hoping she would bring something special. I will get back to that. Anyway. We order ramen for the kids and sushi for the parents. Ramen comes out but bo sushi. So we wait. 10 min after being served the ramen. Waitress comes up apologizing. So we understand the kitchen is backed up. So we wait. 10 more min ahead does come back and I ask how long? She says probably 10 more min. We also have to say. Our table was still a mess with old dishes and drinks that were not cleared when other items arrived and we asked for napkins and silverware again. Which she forgot. again Needless to say. Food arrived 30 min after the other meals were served. She was pretty flustered and apologized. Then came to check on us after. When my husband started talking she must have forgotten something somewhere else and ran off I. Middle of sentence. I think honestly- it wasn't all her fault but a manager should have stepped in and she was Obviously a bit off with kitchen mess ups. We were kinda grossed out by the crunchy tuna cucumber roll and the Alaskan dynamite was super fishy. Kids liked the ramen though. In the end she got the check and forgot my daughter birthday dessert. We reminded her and asked for the dessert menu. She said. Well I just told you. It's mocha and various flavors. Experience for us was. Feeling that this place could be epic. Fails on customer service COMPLETELY Some great food and some totally disgusting. But they make you pay for it anyway.
