I stopped in here on my break quick to take a look around. The shop is very small but I had fun looking at all of the vegan and gluten-free goodies I'd never seen before. There's a small section of freezer and fridge goods and even a clearance shelf in the back area. An entire wall of bars and snacks. I found mushroom jerky here, something I've been looking for forever! Decent prices on specialty items. The smoothie area is a little awkward. It's attached to a chiropractic (?) place and as I decided what I wanted those ladies completely ignored me as did the other employee. You have to ring a bell to get the smoothie lady's attention. Once there she had just OK customer service. So, I don't know that I would order one again. Especially because the smoothie was mainly powder and pricey. This is a fantastic little health food shop packed to the gills (in an orderly way) with pantry staples and treats for folks with food sensitivities, allergies, dietary restrictions, raw foodies, and even vegans like me! As I strolled through the store for my first time, I drooled over a lot of items that I've only ever seen available via vegan specialty stores online. If you are gluten free in the Twin Cities, you know it's a shopping desert out there. But I'm here to tell you, you owe it to yourself to make a pilgrimage to the East. Out Woodbury way lies the Mecca of all things sans gluten, an oasis for weary shoppers. Welcome to Tailor Made Nutrition, a store-front shop carrying the gluten free foods that we otherwise need to track down from so many different shops and websites, all neatly plunked down in a tidy, and incredibly helpful little package. I've been a few times, and it still takes some getting used to the idea that *everything* in the store is gluten-free! A great many items are dairy (casein)-free, as well, with a whole aisle of foods without the eight major food allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and soybeans). Prices on gluten free foods are never going to be a bargain, but TMN's prices are comparable to those you'd find in another local shop, or online, unless buying in bulk. As its name suggests, Tailor Made Nutrition carries nutritional supplements galore, and there to assist you is Nutritionist/Owner Mark Norman. Every other staff member is knowledgeable in the world of food allergies, having first-hand experience themselves, and I challenge you to find a friendlier group of people anywhere. My daughter having been gluten and casein-free for nearly nine years, I can attest that the selection here is broad and useful, but they are more than happy to take special requests--I've seen the purple request notepad by the register put to use on each visit, and my own request was followed up on quickly and thoroughly. Cosmetics, cookbooks, and items for special needs kids, such as locally-made weighted blankets round out the stock, but that's not all; this place offers free cooking and baking classes, wellness seminars, and has recently added a certified DAN (Defeat Autism Now) doctor to its staff. They have a huge selection of Gluten Free, Dairy Free foods and they have very competitive prices! The store is great no complaints there, but the smoothie bar is another story. I went there once and paid $9 for a very bland smoothie. I was not a fan, but decided to give it another chance. At 9 am I placed an online order for a smoothie for my lunch to be picked up at 11:45. I order an immune boost with 2 add ons. It came to $11.17... thought that was too pricey but was willing to try it. Went to pick ur up at 11:45 to eat at my 1/2 hour lunch when the employee said "what? Online order? What's that?" I then showed them my online receipt and asked to speak with the manager, and just like her employee, she too didn't know that you could place online orders. Epic fail... really?? Don't order here. Why have an online order option if you don't even know how to process. No lunch for me thank you very much! Should be tailor NOT made. read more

ugh! When this place first opened it was SO good! For the last year or so though they have really gone downhill as far as customer service. I place a fair amount of special orders because I see a Dr. that works with them and if you aren't on top of your order they will ...lose it...forget to order it... not call you when it comes in....order it and then put it on the store shelves and someone else will buy it... you name it... ALL of these scenarios have happened to me. And if you try to be proactive and call to circumvent these scenarios, they get huffy with you and act like you are being a PIA. I'm still working with my doctor figure out which food sensitivities I have, and I love that this store stocks everything I need, regardless of my sensitivities. This is one of my favorite stores! Everything inside is gluten free and the staff is also very knowledgeable about gluten free. I discovered it after being diagnosed with celiac disease, but it also has tons of vitamins, supplements, protein powder, and other health products! It has most of the gluten free products that can be hard to find at other stores too. I've gotten Birthday cakes from the freezer section and even donuts. I would recommend this store to anyone who is gluten free or looking for a good health food store. read more

Their smoothies are great. I got a coupon in the mail for $1 off and I had the immune boost smoothie which was really good. They were also giving out free samples of a turmeric and ginger smoothie and it was delicious!! This will definitely be my go-to place for a meal replacement or after the gym protein shake. I've had a hard time finding anything more than a few paleo items at co-ops and other natural food stores. Not here! They've got quite the selection. I love this store and the people who work here. The nutrition classes are amazing and I've discovered many great new recipes including one for a great homemade bread and allergen free barbecue sauce. Many of their products are not only gluten free but also free of the 8 most common allergens including soy. Also free of GMOs. It is worth the trip to shop here since they have new products with every visit and many products are not found in my local food co-op. read more

This place has variety of products at a fair price. My biggest complaint is some of their staff are not familiar with the product placement. And some are both rude and unfamiliar with their own store. Today I called ahead to see if they had a product I was searching for and luckily I was told they did, I was given the isle number, but there was a different lady when I got there who told me she knew where things were and that they did not have such product. I insisted I just spoke with another rep and I was told it was as in stock. I almost walked out as she was super rude, but I really wanted the product and after some insisting on my part and after I provided the vendor information, she was able to find it. Although it was not the first time I was told that they don't carry products that are stocked, I never encountered this type of rudeness before. It really left bad taste in my mouth. They need to train their staff better on better customer service and how search products that they might not be familiar with instead of quickly dismissing because they don't want to bother with it. read more

When I went to order the employee informed me they closed at 4. I looked at my phone and it was 5 minutes to 4PM. If you need somewhere local to buy something right now, they're a good choice, but be prepared to pay. Very expensive! So, I have to say...The only reason I rated this spot a 2 is because of the staff. I'm a certified holistic nutritionist and as a result have gone here many times and have spent a lot of money on supplements etc. The selection of supplements and gluten free options is GREAT!! It pains me to say this but from now on I will be buying my supplements somewhere else. For someone that spends hundreds of dollars a month I am tired of dealing with semantic rules and I walk away feeling that my business is not appreciated. Ironically I have sent many clients there as well and just last week one of them told me they would no longer go there because of how rudely they felt the staff was and that they simply don't want to support a business that doesn't take care of there customers. I agree! I have to say in dealing with Mark (the Manager) he is wonderful and really knowledgeable regarding product unfortunately he is rarely on the floor. To bad he can't clone himself. read more
