On 6/21/25, I brought my vehicle to Take 5 in Zachary, LA for an oil change and was upsold a coolant flush. Shortly after the service, my vehicle began leaking lime green fluid and then overheating. I returned to the location and was told that they were unable to diagnose the vehicle, and I should take it to any mechanic and have it serviced. I was not made aware that taking the vehicle to be inspected without speaking with the District Manager could result in a denial of any claim submitted. Rashad Lockhart informed me of this during my call to Take 5 Customer Support on 6/27/2025 but let me know since I'd returned to the location already, I was free to have the car diagnosed and repaired. He also provided a ticket number via email and instructed me to upload any receipts. He also informed me that I'd receive a follow up call within 5 business days. I followed up 7/15/25 and 7/31/25 requesting any updates. I finally received a call back on 8/6/25 from Mr. Donald Roy Jr. informing me of my claim denial using Carfax and video footage as substantiated evidence of wear and tear but offering to reimburse the amount for the coolant flush to which I denied as I did not want this to be seen as an acceptable resolution and or waiver of any further legal action. I've since requested the video footage Mr. Roy placed within his denial letter as one of the reasons for the claims denial and hope to hear back from him soon. I've used Take 5 with 3 different vehicles I've owned over the past 10 or so years. The workers and everyone I've spoken to are always polite. I have concerns over their upselling practices and will be following up with the BBB and my states AG. Beware of any services outside of the oil changes Take 5 is known for. This has been a very time-consuming ordeal that resulted in a costly repair to my vehicle. Update: After filing with BBB, I received a response from Take 5 stating that a subpoena is needed to review footage and reminding me that I declined the refund of the coolant flush and that I stated I will take legal action. PLEASE USE YOUR BEST JUDGEMENT WHEN CHOOSING THIS COMPANY FOR CAR MAINTENANCE. read more

JT was very polite. He asked all the questions, offered me a cold bottle of water, check air and oil filter along with added air to my tires. It was so hot even early this morning but he was so professional and calm. 10/10, later Carl asked about overall service. I'd definitely give JT a raise for professionalism alone but he also got the job done. Zachary forgot to put air in the tires I know they were busy but JT covered it for me before I pulled off so all and all, great experience guys. Give them a try! read more

I brought ok my car in for an oil change at the Zachary, La. Location. The technician removed the cap on coolant recovery tank for some reason and then dropped it down into the engine cavity. They looked for the cap for over 30 minutes. They even remover the lower front cover to see if they could see it from underneath. They couldn't find the cap and told me they would order one for me. After a week, I hadn't heard a word from them so I decided to take the car to their shop and ask about the cap. On the way, the lower front cover came loose from the car and began to scrape the highway. A hole was worn into it from scraping the road. I called them and told them about it and they put me off to customer service. That was worse than the shotty work. It's been 3 weeks since my initial contact with CS and they will not return my emails nor answer their phone. Crappy work and crappy customer service. Use them at your own risk! read more

I've used another location in Baton Rouge for years never had any problems so when I saw this place was open I came today and I got $20 off my oil change. Waited in line for over 20 minutes AFTER talking to attendant about our type of oil. Only for them to say when we pulled in they didn't have the right oil or filter for 2021 cars. They said come back in two weeks when we update our system. read more
