She seemed to really care and whispered encouraging words to me. She got the IV in one shot. I walked to OR#1 with the nurse anesthetist. I never asked but they gave me warm blankets. It was cold in there. As they positioned me, each staff member was doing their preparations like a well oiled machine. Next thing I know, I'm in recovery where my nurse (Melinda?) says, time to wake up and offers me a juice. I had no memory getting there. She helped me sit up and get my clothes. Both the surgeon (Newman) and recovery nurse both called my wife. Later walked out the door. No photos here. Just nice people.

At one point, a doctor entered my room and questioned the severity of my pain as well as the medication that had been ordered for me. Her comments and demeanor made it very clear that she did not believe or take my complaints seriously. While I was visibly experiencing significant pain, she walked out of my room while I was still speaking to her. Her attitude came was accusatory, disrespectful, and rude, I felt that there was a complete lack of empathy or genuine concern for my well-being. I reported my concerns regarding the quality of care and the doctor's treatment of me to Patient Advocacy. Unfortunately, my concerns felt as though they were brushed aside. I was told that the doctor would be off for the next couple of days, so I would not have to worry about her providing care! However, this did not address the issues or concerns I had raised. I later followed up with Patient Advocacy because I never received any meaningful resolution or response. To this day, I have still not heard back regarding my concerns. This experience was extremely disappointing and left both me and my family feeling unheard and unsupported during a time when I was vulnerable and in need of care. Needless to say, neither I nor my family will be returning to this hospital. I sincerely hope the hospital takes patient concerns like mine seriously and recognizes the importance of treating every patient with dignity, empathy, respect, and compassion.

It took nurses over 2 hours to bring her something for pain, they didn't bathe her in 10 days. They discharged her with a drain and no plan. Absolutely atrocious. They should be ashamed of themselves. And to think it's a Catholic hospital. We were only there for a day, but they were helpful and respectful. In our worst moment, they helped us navigate through things.
