I dont have enough words to describe what a great experience I've had here. From when my mom needed emergency surgery to today when I brought my daughter into their ER. Nurses went above and beyond to win my daughter over. The attending doctor- Thomas DiEnna was amazing. His resident was great. It barely felt like an ER visit thanks to them. May all medical professionals be like them! read more

Avoid if you can. My father had a stroke after falling. I had to point out that I thought that he had a stroke. When they finally moved him to a room (waited in the ER for 24 hours), he got minimal to no rehab. He could not feed himself and food would often just sit there until a family member showed up. I will say that the neurologist in the ER was kind, caring and explained things well. The nurse tech who had just started was also very attentive, everyone else was impossible to find. read more

Held over night, had to ask for a blanket so i wasnt just laying in a gown cold through the night. The blanket smelled like it was uncleaned from another patient. They took four vials of blood, only got one blood test result back, got an MRI and four hours later was recommended that I get an MRI... I said I already had that? Nurse came in at 9:15am asking if I wanted to order breakfast, I called in around 9:25 to place my order and was told they stop taking orders at 8am. Nurse was just late. Dr gave me incorrect info on my CTA results which Penn medicine later corrected. I was being offered discharge papers before I even spoke with a neurologist about my MRI results. I had to use the restroom, but had EKG wires hooked up to my chest and a blood pressure cuff on my arm, so I rang for the nurse but no one came for 20 minutes. I removed the wires myself and while the monitor alarmed, used the restroom, returned to my bed, watched the monitor eventually go to sleep mode (shut off) and a few minutes later the nurse comes in... I heard my nurse getting hollered at by her supervisor for disappearing for 45 minutes to go talk to a friend. There are some kind folks over there, and a few I interacted with who seemed qualified for their jobs, but over all a terrible experience as a hospital stay. Felt like communication was entirely lacking between staff. Maybe they are understaffed.... But for someone's room to be going off for probably a total of 30 minutes and no nurse to ever pop in is pretty terrible. read more

I was at a restaurant and had eaten something with sesame seeds(I am extremely allergic) I had forgotten my epipen as I did not know we were going out to eat(I usually have it on me and I did take the precaution of letting them know I was allergic) I ended up having an allergic reaction and found out the dish did have sesame seeds. I am extremely allergic and have been hospitalized before for an anaphylactic reaction. My boyfriend had to go to Doylestown hospital because It was the closest hospital. My symptoms included: nausea, dry mouth, trouble swallowing, dizziness, whole body tingling, and sudden tiredness on the way to the hospital. Once I got to the hospital I had trouble walking on my own so I explained everything quickly to the front desk and they put me in a wheelchair and I waited for triage. They brought me in pretty quickly and asked me a bunch of questions. At this point I was very dizzy and tired and remember just wanting to fall asleep. At one point the lady tapped my leg and said something like "stay with me, just a few more questions". I remember that I kinda stopped answering the questions and started responding with head shakes or sounds. Eventually they wheeled me to a room and put me on a bed. I was in my regular clothes(not hooked up to any vitals) and had a nurse who was kinda coming in or out(I think she might have just been a triage nurse) and at this point 5 or so minutes went by and I was starting to wheeze, my eyes quickly became swollen shut, my face was burning, and I was coughing a lot. I started pleading to the nurse trying to explain that I have had anaphylaxis before and need epinephrine as I have not had any. She kept saying the doctor would be in soon. After 3 times of her saying that she left my room. I was completely ALONE going through a severe allergic reaction. I can't stop thinking about how if I passed out in that moment, nobody would have known. I was still in my regular clothes and was not hooked up to anything so they couldn't tell my vitals. I have never felt so unsafe in a hospital. I know she said the doctor was coming soon but once my breathing started to get worse...I was worried how long it would be. So I stumbled out of bed...I couldn't really see so I felt around and opened the curtain and the sliding door and called out for help, hoping someone at the nurses station would help me. Somebody told me that I had to get back to my room and I turned around and sat back in my room(still in my regular clothes, no vitals to monitor, and left alone again) I was terrified and didn't know what to do so I called my mom(she used to be a nurse) and asked her what to do(at this point I was very out of breath) she said that their first priority should have been to get me epi as I was having a life threatening reaction. She was about to call the hospital, but thankfully while I was on the phone with her, they finally came in. They gave me oxygen, epi, and some other drugs. After that things got better. I think it just scares me because let's say I waited for the doctor and didn't leave my room asking for help....how long would it have taken? If I passed out and lost blood flow to the brain, how long would it have taken anyone to notice? I just feel like it is very unsafe leaving anyone having a severe reaction alone in a room without vitals being monitored and no epi being given. read more

I was taken to the ER in August 2018 for a mysterious illness. I was diagnosed very quickly and all of my care over 6 days inpatient was above and beyond- nurses, techs, doctors, OT, PT, respiratory techs, EVERYONE! Would not go anywhere else if I got sick again. Also good experiences for follow-up testing. read more

Nursing staff on weekends and overnights lacks supervision which results in poor care to patients

This hospital and an affiliated urgent care are a blessing. Had surgery performed at ambulatory center, had physicals at urgent care, use the off site NP's office for routine visits (almshouse road). Last but certainly not least have had effective physical therapy in treating my back pain/ sciatica. So thankful for all the employees. read more

Seen in the ER recently by a Dr Jill R Kane DO. Unfortunately left there without any type of a diagnosis. Tried to look up test results on the patient portal, had my Med Rec Num: however no luck with signing in to this portal. So now, a couple of days later, I am so sick, and I can't even look up the results that were not back at the time of my discharge. I was absolutely disappointed with the service that I received, as this hosp came with a good recommendation. I talked with the person who recommended I go there, and her question to me was, "what time did you go there?" I told her that I went in the very early hours of the morning as that was when I had gotten so sick that I couldn't stand it any more. Her reply was "that is the reason the care was subpar."What? Why would it matter what time of day that you went to an ER? They should be able to handle any illness, at any time if day. For God's sake, I guess you should schedule your next serious illness, and or injury during the "day time" hours to get quality service. two thumbs down for this trip to the ER. read more

Doylestown Hospital is my go to when it comes to my health. Last year in November 2020, I came to the hospital at 3:30 in the morning with severe stomach pain. A few hours later I was being prepped to have my appendix removed. This was my first surgery ever and the surgeon made me feel very comfortable. He answered all the questions that I had. And all of the nurses that helped me when I was in the recovery room were equally as amazing. read more
