Everything tastes like it's made by the Nigerian mom you never knew you had. The parking in this strip mall REALLY SUCKS. You can park along the street but expect to walk. I've had the pleasure of trying various items from here because my coworkers default to this place for potluck dishes. The meat pies are freshly baked every day and the puff puffs (a deep fried sweetened dough) are like giant fresh, round donuts. The chicken in the tomato stews are hit or miss because they can come out fresh, or really dry and old. I dined-in once with coworkers but don't expect excellent service. The owner is almost always the only one running the restaurant and take out is usually the avenue to go. Price wise, the food is exotic so expect to pay $$$ for some items that may seem plain. The food is good overall, but I'm taking off points for service and the fact that not all popular items are available even during peak hours, so you should call ahead of time before making the trek here.

She also didn't explain any of the dishes to us when she brought the food out to our table. Their on Ethiopian time; you'll know what I mean if you've been for Ethiopian food before. It's a good variety of food although I didn't particularly find anything that stood out to my taste buds. The injera was light and airy but I didn't find it to have much of a sour taste on its own. The lamb was tasty but not much meat, mostly bone. A touch too salty. The raw ground beef was interesting; almost like a tartare. The yellow and green lentils were run of the mill but the beets and carrot/cabbage were good. Same for the kale and spinach. Worth a try but not sure if Abyssinia would be on my list to come back to.

Today I went in and asked the hostess what was good there. They brought me goat with rice, a very flavorful soup and a refreshing salad. The goat was very tasty and moist. It flaked off the bone and was a good portion. The rice was peppery and filling. I liked the soup very much. The meal really filled me up. It was my first meal of the day well into the afternoon. I thought the food was pretty good but the less-adventurous palates in my party did not appreciate some of the spicing or presentation of some of it. I liked the pacing of our courses and the tea and small deserts on offer. We found the price of our food a bit high but that was less of a concern than the disappointment of part of our group.
