This campground is a mess. Let's start there. We came here in November 2018 and left in September 2019. We are full timers so we live in our RV. We got a lease and paid monthly. The first half of our experience living here was fantastic. The property manager was a great man named David. Over the summer of 2019, he passed away. When he did, the owner of the park took over and everything went down hill from there.
The owner quickly began illegally evicting people who were on leases. She would give them a prewritten letter saying that they had to be out right away. She gave no reason as to why all these people, including ourselves, were being evicted. Just that we had to leave right away.
Some people were able to find other places to go but we refused. We had a lease and knew our rights. She then proceeded to tell us that our lease did we could be evicted at any time at the discretion of the park. This was NOT in our lease - which I have copies of. So we refused to leave and they called the police. The police came out and informed them that they COULD NOT do this. That it was illegal and they'd have to go through the proper procedures.
Long story short, this went on for several months. She eventually had us evicted on "failure to pay rent" with the claims that we have NEVER paid rent since we moved in back in November 2018! So we allegedly owed well over $6k. We missed court to fight the eviction due to something personal. We have filed an appeal because we have the receipts for our lot rent showing we paid.
We are also going after restitution and the repairs to our broken window that one of her maintenance men broke and she refused to repair. One of our cats got out several times due to that broken window, brought home a flea infestation, and more!
During our time at this campground, we were also banned from using the facilities like the pool due to lies she made up. Example; saying we were smoking and drinking in the pool area which we never did but they weren't against the rules even we had! And there were cameras that showed we never did those things. So even though use of the facilities and amenities were apart of and included in our lease, we weren't allowed to use them but still expected to pay the same amount and pay while we were being evicted. No.
This was a great park while David was alive. He was a great guy and did his best to work with and accommodate everyone in the park. Upon his passing, many great people were evicted, criminal activity and discrimination became a regular occurrence by not just the residents but also by the staff.
I dealt with an assault by a violent and well known criminal who lived at this campground. One of the maintenance men at the park witnessed it and did nothing to help. The man who assaulted me still lives at the park as well and they even own a pit bull - which is a breed not allowed by the park.
The bathroom facilities are also not handicap accessible, the showers flood every time you use them, and all the shower heads are broken leaving them prone to fall on you. Because the showers also flood the bathroom, it makes the floor extremely slippery and dangerous. I've fallen and know others who have fallen several times. One time I fell and broke my iphone when I did. Nothing was done and they don't care to maintenance the bathrooms.
So at this point in time, I don't recommend going here. Sadly, there are very few other parks in the area and only one has the same amenities and facilities. This one though, it's not only a dangerous place because of the criminals who live here but the owner is a scam artist who will take your money and then tell you that you can't use the stuff you paid for or she'll kick you out.
So if you're able to get a lot at one of the other local campgrounds, do so. Anne Lumpkins is the owner and she is a two faced piece of work.
RIP David. Thank you for all of your hard work. We're sorry for your passing. You are missed. read more
