Today I stopped in to Taki Ramen as I haven't been able to visit for a while. I had the Squid Salad which was delicious as always. I also had steamed Gyoza that were also very good. I decided to try the Curry rice with Katsu and boy was I blown away. It was amazing. Just the right amount of spice and went perfectly with the Katsu. It comes with pickled jalapeño but it wasn't needed. I was glad I tried this instead of any of my usuals. I am going to try it with Karaage the next time I come in!! Honestly I've been to countless ramen spots due to the amount of travel I have to do. This spot is probably one of the best ramen spots I've ever been to in the states. A lot of ramen spots completely bypass the time and effort to make a tasty broth but they take over 8hours everyday to prepare their broth and it shows. I'm pretty impressed. It was ok. IMO the flavor wasn't there and the noodles were too thin. Texas ramen is very different from California ramen. It met the need but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. The meat was tender so that was good but the broth flavor wasn't lacking. Also, I'd never had corn in ramen before! That was odd. The fried rice was overly salty. I only picked up so I can't say anything about service or ambience but they should put a a "watch your step" sign at the door because there's a lip at the door and I tripped. read more

I got the sauced gyoza and the spicy bulgogi rice bowl. Sadly, was very unimpressed with the taste of the food and it felt like ingredients were just thrown together. Gyozas were okay but they made me a bit nauseous and that never happens with me. I want to think they specialize in their ramen so I can't be too hard on them for that. When we arrived, we were told to sit anywhere we'd like and unfortunately we got a sticky table. Unsure if all tables are like that but it was already not a pleasant experience. Having had authentic ramen back in California, I would say the food here is decent for American taste. Firstly, I noticed the gyoza deep fried versus pan fried. Secondly, I saw the ramen were all boiled, rinsed, and then topped with soup and toppings. Traditionally, the ramen should cook in soup, as the taste is in the ramen per bite. The service here was fast, and I found the price reasonable. The decor inside provided enough ambiance for foreign taste. I was excited to try Taki Ramen being from San Diego. When we walked in and I didn't see anyone Asian in the kitchen I thought uh oh. Had the Taki Ramen which was fine. Nothing spectacular. The broth was luke warm when I'm used to it being hot. The brisket was over cooked. It was tasty though. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us an appropriate amount of time. The interior is designed really nice. I love that they have anime on one tv and KPop videos playing on the other. Incredible discovery right here in Wichita Falls! We travel far and wide for Ramen and cannot believe this place exists in our hometown and are just now discovering it yesterday! I saw yesterday because we had to come back today and bring our son and quite the foodie himself. I cannot believe how many times I found myself saying "this is SO good!" My husband and I got Taki ramen & Veggi Tempura Rarn yesterday with vegetarian Gyoza and the pickled daikon was superb. We also added steamed kimchi and it took the already multi-layer of flavors of our ramen to even another level! Today we had Vegetarian Ramen (fried tofu ana extra mushrooms are a must and so filling) and our son got Chi-Bob boneless Korean chicken wings and Serrano sauce that was recommended with fried rice. My son kept saying "I don't know how but every bite gets better! I'm going to compare everything to this place now, I need to try everything on the menu and this is the only place I want to come eat at now"- she is gives 5 STARS as well The staff was so friendly and accommodating with sharing their favorites and recommendations (although everything on the menu looked incredible from all the other customers faces) and the kitchen staff was joyous and extra care was taken to ensure what I ordered was vegetarian friendly and informed me of all ingredients so I could eat my meal with peace of mind. The place is bright and festive with fun info facts like the why the chose a "Raccoon dog" and how Taki means "Falls" I love their idea of buy a shirt and get a discount when you wear it! I had such a pleasant experience at this restaurant. I'm here visiting from Ca and what a delight. The waitress was super knowledgeable in regards to the menu and even on what the name means. Stopped here while traveling and absolutely loved it! The staff was very friendly and had us seated quickly. After that we placed our order and it did not take long to get it. I ordered the Garlic Miso Ramen & Chi-Bob. The Ramen was served warm & the Chi-Bob was warm as well, the gyoza served with the Chi-Bob was surprisingly the hottest (temperature wise) item. The flavor of the food was great, the atmosphere was good, the service was tentative but the only thing lacking was the temperature of the food. I'll be back at a future date to give them another chance. The menu said my meal was chicken with an egg, but I tasted some pork. It was decent, the spring rolls I was not a fan of. My son liked his food except the soup. This place has military discount with valid ID which is cool. It isn't a place you can pop in and out. TLDR: it's not the best, but not the worst which is pretty consistent with all asian restaurants in town. Small, cute dining area. Not really ideal for big groups. They don't have an alcohol menu yet but they're working on it. We ordered tonkotsu ramen. The broth was a little salty, but not too bad. It's not as rich as I like mine to be. They top the bowls off with what I think is dried minced garlic- not a fan of that. The garlic flavor ended up overpowering the flavor of the broth. The noodles were perfect to me. The soft boiled egg is just a soft boiled egg, not the soft boiled marinated egg that you'd typically see in ramen. Overall, food was 3/5. Though, I did see their drink fridge from the bar and I'm quite impressed that they have Milkis in there. I didn't see it on the menu, otherwise I would have ordered a can. I believe I saw the original flavor, which is my all time favorite, and maybe two other flavors. I'll be sure to order some next time! read more

I had been waiting to try this place, I love a good Ramen, but I was let down today. It looked very good, but lacked in flavor, I had the basic tonkotsu and fried rice as a side. The atmosphere was nice, but we were seated at the bar with the door behind us, cold winds from the door chilled us and the food. They had a good selection of beverages. Sadly I don't believe we will return , for the price, this lunch wasn't enough to "wow" me. The fluid of the Ramen was bland, the fried rice was colorful and the rice was cooked right but also lacked in flavor. When we went back recently, ordered some different items and all of it was just very meh. The chicken and soybean based broth had a very unpleasant flavor to me, so I couldn't eat it. The noodles were great though. The fried dumpling app tasted premade and frozen - very mushy interior and chewy tough skins. The kids chicken nuggets were positively disgusting. Huge portions of slimy thick fat and breading and very oily. Everything was served just barely warm, even the ramen. Service was quick and very friendly but atmosphere here is weird. Two TVs play either suggestive Asian music videos or violent anime cartoons. My kids were upset about that. I have a sensitive stomach, particularly to msg, and I had significant problems later that night and even into the next day. We hate to waste food so tried to eat as much as we could, but I threw away the leftover container after I wasn't well. Not sure why there was such a difference in quality of food between visits but I don't imagine we would ever go back. read more

I was so excited to try this place. I had heard about Taki Ramen before they were even open. I loveeeee ramen. Ramen houses are so big in the metroplex, so I was excited to get one here locally. I heard so many good reviews from the locals once it finally opened. My brother in law had went with coworkers and they all loved it as well. One night, my BIL and his family invited me and my husband out to dinner here since they knew I wanted to try it. I was sooooo excited. I ordered the spicy ramen and my husband ordered hibachi fried rice. We were both soooo disappointed. Everything was so bland. I didn't even want to finish my ramen.
